He was saved: he could have lived a few more years, or live as an immortal in history. He is alive and well, in any heart who wishes to draw strength from a spirit that we all feel within: to be free. Of the self, others, all. To just be, and that is that. Your emotion is life to his remembrance, as is my response to what you feel- what he made you feel. What you, feeling his feeling, made me feel. He is alive if you feel he is. Today was built on yesterday, and he built yesterday. That makes him with us, today. And forever. And you, forever. It makes later, the past, and the past, later as it all feeds into itself and cannot be without what was, and what was determines what will be. It already happened and will happen and hasn’t happened all at once.
Yeah that was my hope too, looks like him, sounds like him, already had the sword fighting down. Henry Cavil is okay but I stand by Zach being a better Geralt

Charles Vane may not have been a good man. But I still would've followed him anywhere. His death was one of the saddest in tv history. But his words will live on forever. "We are many. And they are few. To fear death is a choice. And they can't hang us all."
@@thesmokingtoad2836 I can see that but in your opinion who would be a good Wolverine because I heard some people want to see Tom Hardy as Logan. I think it was about maybe two years ago there was a rumor that he was going to be cast as Wolverine.
Black Sails writers and the actor did a great job in depicting Charles Vane. I much prefer this Vane to his real life counterpart who was a piece of shit who deserved it.
Spoiler alert for those who didn't watch the show past this episode: The funny thing is that in this show Calico Jack outlives Charles Vane, and in reality he was executed five months before him. xD Nonetheless, I have to give a huge respect to Zach McGowan and Toby Schmitz for pulling off the great performances.
Charles Vane (1680 - 29 March 1721) was an English pirate who operated in the Bahamas during the end of the Golden Age of Piracy. Vane was likely born in the Kingdom of England around 1680. One of his first pirate ventures was under the leadership of Henry Jennings, during Jennings' attack on the salvage camp for the wrecked Spanish 1715 Treasure Fleet off the coast of Florida. By 1717, Vane was commanding his own vessels and was one of the leaders of the Republic of Pirates in Nassau. In 1718, Vane was captured, but he agreed to stop his criminal actions, and accepted a King's Pardon; however, just months later, he and his men, including Edward England and Jack Rackham, returned to piracy. Unlike some other notable pirate captains of the age, like Benjamin Hornigold and Samuel Bellamy, Vane was known for his cruelty, often beating, torturing and killing sailors from ships he captured. In February 1719, Vane was caught in a storm in the Bay Islands, and was marooned on an uncharted island. Upon being discovered by a passing British ship, he was arrested and brought to Port Royal where he was eventually tried and hanged in March 1721.
Black Sails was a good series, was loosely based on what actually went on after the English & Spanish war with Piracy, I read up on the history of it & the English Aristocracy were far more corrupt than the Pirates, just smarter !!! It actually kick started the war of independence by booting out all the corrupt English governors..

One of the most anticlimactic deaths in tv history, imo Right up there with Khal Drogo and a couple of others And so early on, in the 3rd season, made me fear for the rest of the series but they handled that masterfully

Vane was the best character of the show to me. He was a butcher, to be sure, but he stood by his word. Flint, Silver, Jack, Eleanor, and most of the rest would stab their own mother in the back to further their respective causes. Charles Vane fucked himself over time and time again because he wasn't willing to do the same.
