OrdkaMarlSkirata It's pretty obvious he invented it. There's literally a *lightning bulb* moment when he's meditating. A bunch of people in the episode commented on how Draper was going to come back (Roger). Some of the singers are dressed similarly to the hippies at his commune. Also, Don tried to find happiness wandering around on his own, but he failed. He figured out he's an advertising man at heart and found inner peace in accepting it.

@@spenjor I agree. I was a child when this commercial aired. Watching it definitely makes me tear up. Not because of cheap sentiment, but because it reminds me of how very hateful and bitter so many people are today who cannot enjoy a display of togetherness among people of different nationalities. They have to spit on this idea and belittle it. That is because their souls dried up and died long ago.
And, yes, I know it's "just a commercial" but it's still a beautiful idea and one that would not occur today.

Now 50 years later, I am a senior citizen with a head full of gray hair and living in a world where we need lots of LOVE. This commercial brings us back to happier times. Being 40 is still young, the 1960’s early 70’s still belonged to the Silent Generation, so why Marilyn, James Dean, or Elvis were not there anymore ??? If they would be just 37 or 43?? They would even look young like Gwen Stefani in the 2000’s or BlackEyedPeas in the 2010’s, millennials NEVER made Gen X & Gen Jones feel excluded, we always included older generations, and they still did GOOD MUSIC & still look young cause we gave them a chance, Zoomers really are making millennials feel worthless and are trying to keep them AWAY at all costs

I know that the Hillside singers did a Christmas commercial and it was great. I wish that Coca-Cola would have done a 50th year anniversary of the surviving members of the Hillside singers in 1971 and 1990 to do a commercial for the 4th of July. Great commercial plus great food plus a cold bottle/can of Coke = great entertainment. Just imagine watching this commercial, drinking a cold bottle/can of Coke to go along with your barbecue ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs ,potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cobb,Cobb,, apple pie and other great foods. The 4th of July holiday would have been one of the most watched commercial of all time. The Coca-Cola song should be the National Anthem for the baby boomers and the millennium worldwide.
