I'm a Woodturner, olive wood is one of the most pleasurable to turn, it's oily nature makes it easy to work and it fills the shop with a wonderful smell, there are others, but olive is my favourite. Nice presentation!
@@sMm49. Yes, it conjures up images of days gone past. Once every community had a wood turner, a blacksmith, a bakery and butcher. Nowadays it’s the supermarket.
@@sMm49. How true. Unfortunately, that’s what we have to live with. I teach wood turning these days, trying to keep the skills alive, it would be criminal to loose skills that took centuries to perfect.

Very nice! I'm with you about leaving flutes or marks from the gouge on the spoon. I carve one of my style of "dough" bowls I cut out of a log by hand with the gouge marks. So many people like the look in the bowls that are more for decoration than actual use. I carved a 1.5 ft long and 2" deep bowl for a relative a couple of years ago and she puts fruit in it on her dining table most of the year and at the holidays like Thanksgiving (here in the States) and Christmas with decorations such as gourds and pumpkins with autum leaves, or miniature wrapped gift packages at Christmas for her grandchildren.
Hello Paoson Woodworking. I am impressed with your wood work. The way you carve them is incredible and precise. I have some questions for you ; How does each article (for instance ; a spatul) cost ?
Hello this video it's very nice my name is Miguel this is my dad's email-address and I'm fron Cuba and I am a beginner a woodworker I would like to learnd to make these kitchen utensils.
Neat, simple projects, really done by hand with regular tools. No CNC, no large scale production setups. Thanks for the inspiration.

Love the shop made tools. Fun to see hand skills and not just another glorified CNC machine. Great work
