Love this! Do some more commentary videos, hearing the history is so much fun. These pandemic videos have made me a full fledged fan. I was just a regular, lazy ass fan before.
Sadly... I did not discover you guys until later in life. A Barenaked late bloomer if you will... But about 5 years ago... I noticed “It’s All Been Done” and then “Lookin’ Up” etc. and you rapidly became one of my favorite bands. Right up there with Journey and The Cars, etc., etc.. (Showing my age.) But I’d like to thank you for your contribution to the soundtracks of our lives. The generally positive attitude of your songs, even when things look a bit grim, has I’m sure, helped many people deal with whatever stress they are needing to deal with. I know your songs have helped me. Especially in the bizarre Twilight Zone episode we seem to be currently living in. 😜 So... stay safe and thank you for all you do. 😎❤️👍
Maroon is probably my favorite Barenaked Ladies album. It's got such a good sound all the way around and fantastic lyrics. Can't believe it's been 20 years!
By far THE nicest guys in music and I'm so glad I've been there for the journey it's been a fun ride so far! Much love from the UK, see you next year in Birmingham!
MAROON was the album that we started following Barenaked Ladies on tour. Saw three shows during the Winter 2000 run and 13 during the Summer 2001 leg. We have never looked back. We miss those days but are thankful that the band is still together and making terrific music.
Man this takes me back. The very first CD I ever bought was Barenaked Ladies "Stunt". I can still rattle off the lyrics to One Week without skipping a beat even after all these years.
This was the first radio release after the one week went so big I think (and I first discovered BNL - 9th grade aw baby). But I also remember being concerned that you only did fun poppy songs. Well I shouldn’t have feared - I got scammed into signing up for Columbia House auto CD thing (get 13 cds for a penny!! 🤦🏻♀️) and got Born on a Pirate Ship. Damn that spoke to my grumpy teenage heart and you’ve all been doing it ever since. Please keep making songs until I’m too old to hear anything. Your music has been a steadying part of my life since 1999.
I have a lot of fond memories associated with Maroon, probably the best being seeing you guys on that tour at the Erwin Center with Guster opening (my introduction to them).
Fond memories of the Buffalo, NY New Years Eve show for Y2K. Doug Flutie on drums and counting down the New Year prior to the New Year just in case the power grid went down at 00:01 hrs 1/1/2000. Thx guys!
The first time I ever heard of Barenaked Ladies was at Bumbershoot 1993. You opened for Violent Femmes, who I was eager to see. It turned out that Violent Femmes sucked live but I didn't care because I was now in love with the Barenaked Ladies
Thanks for making me feel old 😂 Can’t believe it’s been 20 years, we were all babies back then huh? (For the record I’m older than everyone but Ty 😊) As someone once said, Thanks That Was Fun. 😉
I remember when there was the announcement that the US version had to have run through the sprinklers with no clothes on edited out. It was a different time 😆😆
I remember first seeing this video on VH1. I was about to turn 12 years old, and I was enjoying my last summer as a kid because my parents kept telling me, you’re getting ready to start middle school so you are a big girl now. I hated when they did that.
Wow this is awesome guy I've been real listening to this the last couple weeks and then you guys bring this on no I have a personal hypothesis about this song I'm a graveyard shift janitor and this comes on at work play I have nothing better to do but think and plus I'm 40 years old and this is from my good old days no I really believe that great spirit God whatever you want to call it, chose this song specifically and stuffed it full of Easter egg yeah it's like a good Twilight Zone sound love you guys thanks
And, I still love this song as well as all the others! I'll never forget when 7 ate 9! Oh, I could go on but the doc wants to make me cough and get in line. :)
I was going to say that Blue's Clues might owe you some money for stealing those dancer's outfits. But then I checked and Blue's Clues started in 1996... so you may owe them some money.
Yeah, it is odd to wake up on the Westcoast of Canada with hazy skies and a red sun, pinch me is this really happening? What's the deal we've been given? Animals and fish can't eat ash on the ground or in the ocean, pinch me is this even real? we use to harvest potatoes into flying fries, and animals die, just a sigh of relief, jump into hamburger buns is so ideal, What were we even thinking? We knew and didn't know what we know Red skies in the morning, oh just sluff it off What's the best we can do? Bring good cheer and love for everyone in misery, Love heals more than we know Gotta love this planet, from early exploration to the universe, from the tips of our fingers to our nose, if we can harvest flying potatoes, somehow we can stand up and get along do more than dancing on our toes Red skies in the morning, oh just sluff it off What's the best we can do? Bring good cheer and love for everyone in misery, Love heals more than we know The world is getting smaller by the seconds, we know more than we use to, Grandma's and Grandpas work hard all of our lives, What we were even thinking, we knew and didn't know what we know. love is the strength that will bring us through You have inspired me to write this just now, from the top of my head. What is the point of even writing about fluff? Love. We knew and didn't know what we do. Thank you! Sending Love Cheryl Sibson

I need a commentary video on Too Little Too Late. Lol

I got to do Stage Crew on the Pirate Ship tour when BNL came to SUNY Oswego back in 96? Good times...
WTF, BNL was in Oswego in 1996? Just before my time.... It must have been awesome.
@@k.s.nichols4060 yep, great show. They had a whole pirate ship set for the stage.
Maroon is my favorite album by the Ladies, and one of my favorites of all time. Super excited to hear the B-sides!
I was 15 when this came out. I LOVED watching it on Much Music.
Maroon is probably my favorite Barenaked Ladies album. It's got such a good sound all the way around and fantastic lyrics. Can't believe it's been 20 years!
Falling For The First Time is one of my favorite songs of all time. It got me through so much. This makes me happy seeing this. Thank you guys :)
They should do a commentary on that next
Good choice....👏🏻👌🏻
Wow 😳 hard to believe that was 20 years ago! Loved ya since yellow tape 🥰 great commentary!! More please!
I could have gone for 20 more minutes of you guys sharing stories and discussing this video.
Find the DVD Barelaked Nadies. I don't even have a DVD player in the house anymore and I refuse to part with my copy.
They should do a podcast!
i could have gone for them re-watching the video for another 20 minutes and commenting on other things they previously didn't
YES! Happy 20th Birthday to my #1 favorite album ever!!
By far THE nicest guys in music and I'm so glad I've been there for the journey it's been a fun ride so far! Much love from the UK, see you next year in Birmingham!
20 years??? Wow!! Met you guys for the first time on the Maroon tour at Penn State....and I wasn't traumatised so you're stuck with me!
I love you guys! Fantastic video and song! Great all around!!! Thank you for the memories!!!
20 years wow that is amazing and great
Loved hearing you guys commentary 👍

One of the best music videos of all time 😎
You guys need to make more videos of y'all just chatting and telling us stuff. Love it.
Congratulations 🥳🎉 and thank you for continuing to make great music and to make us smile and laugh 😊🙏🏾💖
They were a phenomenal live band as well. Miss those guys put now records.
Man this takes me back. The very first CD I ever bought was Barenaked Ladies "Stunt". I can still rattle off the lyrics to One Week without skipping a beat even after all these years.
Love yall glad you're revisiting this

This is great I fell in love with this band in the early 2000s when I was like 8-9
I remember when the album was released. Wore out my cd in one year.
Love BNL!!!!! I’ve seen you guys in concert at least 10 times and have the t-shorts to prove it! ❤️❤️❤️
I have a lot of fond memories associated with Maroon, probably the best being seeing you guys on that tour at the Erwin Center with Guster opening (my introduction to them).
Ed being employee of the month at a Wendy's explains the one lyric from "Never is Enough" off Stunt.
Fond memories of the Buffalo, NY New Years Eve show for Y2K. Doug Flutie on drums and counting down the New Year prior to the New Year just in case the power grid went down at 00:01 hrs 1/1/2000. Thx guys!
They actually got Steve's commentary for this video! That's awesome!
when
Hey, saw a FLIP in there...... This was GREAT! VERY SLICK, LOVIN' IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who decided to dress everyone as Steve from blue's clues?
I was wondering the same thing!
I too was thinking this 😃👍
Good to hear you guys again. Stay safe.
My favorite song of all time!
Umm it actually came out the 12... 😂 you guys are awesome!!!!
The first time I ever heard of Barenaked Ladies was at Bumbershoot 1993. You opened for Violent Femmes, who I was eager to see. It turned out that Violent Femmes sucked live but I didn't care because I was now in love with the Barenaked Ladies
Oh no, I'm younger than my favourite song :o
Thanks for making me feel old 😂 Can’t believe it’s been 20 years, we were all babies back then huh? (For the record I’m older than everyone but Ty 😊) As someone once said, Thanks That Was Fun. 😉
"Pinch Me" is my favorite song! 😄
The Steve from Blues Clues clothes on the patrons is definitely putting this in a place in time!
Damn, I remember listening to this song in college.
Maroon is my favorite BNL album! Anybody else notice what the ceiling lights look like inside the restaurant? Hmmmm.
Ahhhhhh
Very cool. I look forward to more!
I remember when there was the announcement that the US version had to have run through the sprinklers with no clothes on edited out.
It was a different time 😆😆
I have this song on my playlist, always will 👍❤🐯
*T-W-E-N-T-Y* YEARS?!?! Pinch me. 😝 Thanks, guys!
My favorite!
fuck i always loved this song, i remember watching it on MTV when i was in high school.
The only thing missing is seeing the guys while they talk us through this...
But, I have the Barelaked Nadies DVD, which had that option.
Did Steve participate?
I still have the special Napster version of this song. You can never trust a Canadian ;)
I remember first seeing this video on VH1. I was about to turn 12 years old, and I was enjoying my last summer as a kid because my parents kept telling me, you’re getting ready to start middle school so you are a big girl now. I hated when they did that.
Wonderful!
You guys invented the Mannequin Challenge before or became a really quick tend a couple of years ago? Wow.
20 years!? Damn I remember when it was coming out. Do I really want to know how old Gorden is then...
You guys should do a podcast!!!
Please come back Steve
I fuckin love you guys
Wow this is awesome guy I've been real listening to this the last couple weeks and then you guys bring this on no I have a personal hypothesis about this song I'm a graveyard shift janitor and this comes on at work play I have nothing better to do but think and plus I'm 40 years old and this is from my good old days no I really believe that great spirit God whatever you want to call it, chose this song specifically and stuffed it full of Easter egg yeah it's like a good Twilight Zone sound love you guys thanks
Where has gone all the time?
The Canadian Maroon 5
The famed 80’s COKEwood Amartments!
And, I still love this song as well as all the others!
I'll never forget when 7 ate 9!
Oh, I could go on but the doc wants to make me cough and get in line. :)
This is so fun! And I haven’t heard the word “Geritol” in forever! 🤣
I got to know whose idea to have all the background characters dressed as Steve from Blue's Clues?
sad to see u getting so less views :((((9
Do one week
Anyone noticed this place is like In N Out?
Hold up, so Ed really DID get a job at Wendy's, and got honored with employee of the month?? So meta.
Ok, that was a little surreal, though that is what I like about you guys.
Just a Question. Was that restaurant real??
I was going to say that Blue's Clues might owe you some money for stealing those dancer's outfits. But then I checked and Blue's Clues started in 1996... so you may owe them some money.

Pass the geritol is right. OOF
How dare those annoying guys talk over the video. (Joking)
I always told people that was Eric McCormack and they never believed me
