Sorry for the delay on this week's upload friends - this one took a little more time than usual to edit. Let's see how one of these generic "Top 10" list videos does with the cheeky thumbnail! Haha, I'm just trying to bring in new viewers so they can see the more authentic, in-depth videos that matter more! With that said, I truly loved Siquijor Island and would like to get back soon to make another video about the "black magic" mysteries of this incredible place. If you're new here, come say hi on Instagram at instagram.com/tourist2townie/ and I'll see you next week from back in Manila for some street food with another Filipina UA-camr!
It's not so much as "black" magic really. Actually, the locals are trying to rid the island of that image already. They now promote traditional massage and faith healing. But the mysticism of the island remains. They have a very interesting story to tell. I suggest that you get a good local contact or guide the next time you visit so that you get to appreciate the full history of Siquijor. 👍🙂
Hi, I’m a local from Siquijor. So glad you enjoyed touring around our beautiful island. Seeing this vlog makes me appreciate more of my hometown. Love the cinematography, you’re very talented. Keep on exploring the Philippines. ❤️❤️
The quality of your videos just keep getting better and betterrrrrrrrr!! 10 things to do list yet it's like telling us a story and the same time we're in it. Two thumbs up for this!
Keep coming, Gareth! Watching your videos feels like I was there also with you exploring the island. Someday, I will do the same. Thanks! God bless and always take care!
A place i always want to conquer! Your drone shots are fantastic too! Thanks for letting us see/featuring the other parts of our country. I love the way you mentioned how filipinos treat you and how they are wellcoming you. Our people are our most treasure. Have a safe explorations Gareth and always enjoy nature. Watching your face smiles and giving us your awe look is a true compliment! Take care Man!
HI Gareth! I've been enjoying all of your videos for a long while now. Today I decided to tell you how good they are. That slow-mo shot of you going off the board is epic. I love your energy. Thanks for taking us with you on your travels.
Great view! I could not stay too long in that fish spa because as soon as I got my feet in, the big fish were the ones nibbling ...wierd, ticklish feeling LOL! Salagdoong is the bomb and Lazi church is beautiful...did you notice its hardwood floors instead of tiles? Did you encounter any medicine men or "mambabarangs"? You know, for a long time, nobody wanted to go to Siquijot because of local folklore of witches, black magic, etc... BUT when foreign backpackers noticed how beautiful the island and its people are, siquijor started to a tourist destination. I guess those stories helped "preserve" the peaceful way of life there and I pray and hope that the island will still progress but in a positive way.
I will be in SIQUIJOR August 22 to 24, 2019. Thanks for a very nice video info about SIQUIJOR. I will do all the things that you have done!!! I'M so excited!!!
Gareth, you know what. Your sharings of how you feel about the place, people, culture, food, color of the Philippines is so heartwarming, genuine, unstoppable, unbelievable. You have a good heart and spirit (essence of your humanity). Really, really love the way you take videos and describe it.
The happiness in your heart is emanating through your smile.........Soak up the LOVE from the people of the Philippines. Money can’t buy true love and happiness.
Beautiful footage as always. I always feel like I'm getting a good taste of whatever location, event or experience is presented in your videos. The information given is to the point but interesting, and the sound quality is superb. Thank you!
I appreciate your always-positive nature. You never complain, always choosing to see the positive nature of the places you visit and the people you meet.
Thank you for visiting the town I was born Larena, Siquijor island. I was also deeply touched by the video that you shared of your grandfather's story. My father was in the US Army helping in the Philippines. It was heartwarming. Thank you!
Always so refreshing watching your videos gareth 😎🙏 - love this top 10 series just like the kyoto one - so informative and full of adventure (haha love the thumbnail thought it was your for a second gareth) 🙃
Haha, we kind of feel the same about your video Nick, expect they are informative and full of amazing facial expressions, haha, we always look forward to seeing the next one :)
This video is incredibly done. The shots are amazing (drones yes! but especially when you do point-of-view with dives), the stories are enchantingly told, and the interactions are endearing. Love that you do travel deeper!
I just discovered your channel and you did such amazing video footages of the Philippines. Made me miss home and hopefully when all gets better, come back home and visit some of the places you went to that I haven't visited yet 🙏
Another amazing video. What I like with your videos is that I can feel myself actually being there without physically being there. Love the rope swing back flip "fail". Wouldn't mind trying it myself for fun. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Just recently discovered your channel. Vicariously enjoying your travels in the land of my youth! I am determined to see at least a fraction of what you've been sharing of the Philippines on your vlog. Thanks!
Hi Gareth! Love to see all your blogs, special Philippines🥰 never been in some areas of the Phil’s though I am a Filipino. Because of you I saw a lot of beautiful places in my country. Thanks to you & God bless you!

Siquijor is AMAAAZZINGGG! Thanks for showing Lazi and Larena! I was there a few months ago and I stayed in San Juan. Definitely looking forward to coming back next year! Cheers 👌
Hey Gareth, I hope you are safe and well :) Getting everything planned for my 2021 Phillipines Trip and going back and watching your playlist again Just a question for the scooter hire, did you have to have a motorbike licence and roughly what did it cost? (Even just the daily hire to get an idea) Thanks mate and can't wait until your next travel deeper when the world is calmer Be safe!
Great video, luv the waterfall, the view of the beautiful landscape, and the beach. Looks so much like fun, nice one Gareth. Hope to visit. Thanks for the video. Luv it.
It's not easy to jump on that cliff. It's high!! When you are on the platform, it's so scary to jump. I jump twice and land my butt on the water and it hurt!! The impact is painful when you don't know how to land on your feet. Too high.
@@bajlandia2025 It was definitely fun! I just wish I knew how to land on my feet before I jump. So many kids there jump many times, back flip and still able to land on their feet. So cool to see.
just missing siquijor now, been there last week. stayed at casa dela playa too. stayed kn that yellow room the casa romantika hehe... love the view every morning bec. of the beachfront cottage.... thanks for vlogging it!

This vlogs of yours about the Philippines promotes tourism in the country and the Philippines should give you thanks. Its nice to see that you look so happy while exploring our country 👍🏻
Gareth, new subbie here. If you are like on a tight budget, go to the local grocery and buy a sqeezible cheese whiz, squeezable mayo, or a cheddar cheese block or honey cured slice ham or turkey on a resealable package and kept it on your backpack. Then when you are ready for a snack, breakfast or lunch or dinner all you can do is go to the corner bakery and buy yourself a couple of oven fresh hot pandesal. Then eat it with three in one hot cofeko or mountain dew. man you got yourself a meal that is cheap.

Gareth, that was a clickbait though. I thought that was your girlfriend.
That's ok , we still love you
Have you been to Guimaras island?
I see Gareth is respectful of the culture by taking his hats off in going inside the church.
Not culture, religion
Nice one, looks amazing there. Watching this from a very different beach destination: Matala, Crete. Time to get outside and go to the beach!
