5:40 Amnesia: The Dark Descent from 2010 comes to mind. Low sanity would cause both visual and auditory hallucinations, could make your character collapse and temporarily incapacitated you and would make the monsters find you more easily (presumably because your character is panicking).

MAAN i forgot about that game and i cannot believe i did! Had the greatest custom maps
It had UA-cam in a chokehold and it really was a great time!
I think imma go play that now…

5:40 maybe it doesn't give you allucinations but the phasmophobia sanity level surely affects the gameplay and is effected by game events

That is also true but I feel like sanity in phasmo acts more like health, the lower it gets the more likely you’ll be killed

the 3rd 2024 pokemon related patent seems unfair (if i understand it right). it seems very generic to me. it's a mechanic as old as time (i can swear there was an ultima game with a ship/raft in it), and used many times in rpgs (and others). like they patented boarding something owned by the character to traverse a virtual environment. this really doesn't sound right. maybe there is a definition for "selected by the player" not mentioned that would be like the way you use the menu in pokemon games to select a pokemon and then to ride it, because the are too many games in which a player characted selects (in other ways or interpretations) an owned boarding item to board it (like cars in open worlds akin to grand theft auto).
edit: also, cool video. i didn't even realize it was uploaded on such a small channel. good work.

The keyword I noticed with the third patent was “character”, so it classified whatever your riding to traverse land, air, water not an object but a character so that’s where I think it differentiated. But these patents either way shouldn’t have been approved and I do not understand how they could’ve been. Also the patents were in straight up Japanese and were translated on the google patent search engine
Thank you and I hope I see you back here in the future!
