    65 year old male, smoker, had bad receding and painful gums. I tried all the "gold standard" dentist recommended dangerous creams and washes, but got no relief. Then 4 years ago started oil pulling, you need to use unrefined coconut oil. Coconut oil has antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties, so it can kill bacteria and my gums and teeth have improved amazingly, all pain gone, the dentists suggested pulling them out as the best he could do 5 years ago, so yes oil pulling has worked for me. Ignorant dentists don't.

    I just floss, water floss and brush with three brushes. One firm brush for most of the surface area, a softer smaller brush for gums, gum line and harder to reach places, and a tiny bush that slips into the very hard to reaches places. When I visit my dental hygienist every 5 months, she barely has anything to do so it's just a quick clean and shine and I'm out of there. No magic, just straight cleaning. Works for me.

    I've been oil pulling with coconut oil for almost a decade. So I don't particularly care what studies or other anecdotes have to say because oil pulling works for me.
    I don't have bad breath unless I skip a few days (I can feel the difference in my mouth, my mouth literally tastes different when I oil pull). zero cavities, zero mouth issues in the years since I started. I believe this practice has protected my mouth from so many issues. I also cleanse my face with oil. It is the same principle. Use oil to loosen the gunk then go in with the cleanser (or floss and toothpaste and mouthwash) and you are cleaner than you would have been without oil because oil PULLS and attracts whatever isn't supposed to be there.
    I oil pull for 20 mins a day right when I wake up. It helps me wake up. It works super well for me.

      @@denisea.6752 You have to wash after.
      Though this anecdotal issue misses that you can't compare it to not doing it; you have to compare it to doing 20 entire minutes of swishing with something else as mild as oil. Like Dr Katz mouthwash. Which is created with nonpolar compounds, so if the philosophy of oil attracting oil is true, it would also work with something like Dr Katz.

My gums seem to respond better to it when combined with a rubber tipped gum stimulator and a blend of clove bud and oregano and peppermint oils along with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. All mice are fed 10% 20% plant protein. Their cancer grew and all mice died in this paper. From Colin campbell’s paper, I know that not all mice died and no cancer grows. That paper’s food was made wheat and corn gluten, isolated soy protein, 16%fat(corn & olive oil), sucrose, maltodextrin etc. what ingredient is the problem? I think it’s dead food. Not whole plant.

    For an acidic mouth that tends to corrode tooth enamel, fasting for autophagy addresses the cause. I also spray mouth with H2O2 if I have a tooth infection. Our old dog had smelly rotting teeth and spraying frequently with H2O2 cured it. I also couteract the acids in the mouth brushing with a bit of baking soda on the brush, but autophagy for the win.

      @Mimijona 2 роки тому +2

      I am quite familiar with the ideas of fasting, but can you explain more how it helps the teeth and changing the acidity of the mouth? Hadn't heard of this one yet.

    • @colleenkaralee2280
      @colleenkaralee2280 2 роки тому

      @@Mimijona Hi, there. In 2016 a Nobel Prize was awarded for studies in autophagy, and I began my first ever 14 day dryfast to great healing results and have not looked back since then. It also cured my teeth sensitivity to hot and cold drinks. An acid mouth reacts with the buffering minerals in the saliva which re-enamel the teeth.
      Every cell in the body is washed hygienically by the Great Lymphatic System - interstitially. When the body is moved into autophagy bio-accumulated wastes and acidic debris, plaque, tumors, cavitations in the gums, etcetera, are sequestered and enzymatically dis-assembled into mostly water, particles, and gas - similar to what an industrial incinerator does, but during autophagy even the acidic ash that is a byproduct of digestion is also flushed.
      The mouth tissue and the tooth enamel are no exception - I've experienced this when I put the body into autophagy for a length of time; the mouth temporarily gets dry and sticky and I've even temporarily experienced loosened teeth, which quickly tightened up again. I am Admin for a private FB group about fasting, and others report the same phenomenon, and I made a lengthy thorough post about it.

      What worked with finality for me was putting the body into a de-tox mode called autophagy. During autophagy the body turned the mouth from corrosive acidic to sweet alkaline, and thus the saliva that carries the buffering minerals could better re-mineralize the teeth. My teeth are no longer sensitive to hot or cold drinks, and I did nothing special except putting the body into autophagy long enough to resolve the problem of an acid mouth.

      Wait, are you me? Am I not me? You know me better than I do? Meanwhile even Dr Greger has already covered how a whole plant food vegan diet is best at protecting against periodontal disease and oral cancers. Most people have cavities at a young age, yet Mark Huberman didn't get one until his 50s and he's vegan from birth and 70, I recently did a video on him... but he and I, we're just anecdotes.
      Even still, "Vegetarians had significantly less periodontal disease indicators, including reduced probing depths, less bleeding on probing, decreased tooth mobility, fewer missing teeth, reduced inflammation, and decreased plaque biofilm. The study also demonstrated that vegetarians had higher levels of education; overall healthier lifestyle habits, such as less consumption of alcohol and increased physical activity; less obesity; and reduced prevalence of systemic diseases. All of these may have impacted the results.
      High serum cholesterol has been linked to systemic diseases such as CVD, diabetes, liver disease, and periodontal diseases. Cholesterol, one of the three types of lipids, is naturally produced by the liver and is important for various bodily functions. Elevated serum cholesterol, specifically low-density lipoprotein, is a direct result of over-consumption of cholesterol-rich foods, and all animal products contain cholesterol. Animal products also contain harmful saturated fats, and saturated fat-rich diets increase oxidative stress and prolong the intensity and duration of the inflammatory response. Dietary impact on systemic diseases has been highly studied but conclusive research on the impact of a specific diet pertaining to periodontal health is rare. The study of particular nutrients’ impact on periodontal health is more abundant and conclusive, better detailing the benefits of a WFPBD."
