David and Billie sitting together just makes me incredibly happy.
I love that Matt was wearing Amy's old glasses during the read through
I think that were his own glasses. But he could be wearing Amy's one in the episode.
Yeah they are Matt’s glasses and it was kinda improvised in the Manhattan episode
Their Matt's but they thought it would be funnier if Amy/Karen sorta claimed them during the scenes
The whole time I was trying to figure out who was narrating it, and when I saw Colin Baker I about fell out of my chair.
+Games On Flames It's like how even when you first heard "You know I really think you might," it took a few seconds for your brain to make the connection then HOLY SHIT TOM BAKER.
I saw a reaction video of 20 somethings and they were like "omg is that One or Three?" and I was like are you kidding me? How do you not recognize Tom's iconic voice seriously
Games On Flames just look at his nose
I figured out it was an old doctor, I just didn’t know which one
His voice was familiar but I couldn't figure out who it was, then Colin Baker appeared and I screamed a little.
Luckily, in 50 years I'll only be 73. I will be there for that 100th anniversary!
Let me just make a mental note not to die until 2064.
Axelle114 I'll be 63! Honestly can't wait
I will be 65 and I demand 80-year-old Matt Smith to make a cameo on that anniversary so I can die happy
I would be 48!
damian da master's vlogs what
I’ll be 63
"They had to get out of bed at some unearthly hour"
I see what you did there Colin
Doctor Who first ever episode - "An Unearthly Child"
I read this and then he said it. Coincidence?
The Eleventh Child.
xd
the way billie trailed off with a laugh when she said "a bit more well-managed than rose tyler" still cracks me up to this day.
you can tell that no matter how long ago rose's run was, she still holds a place in billie's heart.
Love how at the end, Tom Baker just doesn't need to introduce himself. He just gives that little look at the end...
Colin Baker sounds a lot like Sir David Attenborough during the narration.
BlueHooloovoo I saw this comment before the video ended, I was honestly expecting the narrator to be Sir David Attenborough, I don't even know how Colin Baker sounds! But now I do.
BlueHooloovoo TOM BAKER
The drunken banana it says COLIN
Indeed, I at first thought it WAS Attenborough! :)
I didn't even know David Attenborough existed until a few years ago. I heard him narrating Planet Earth and thought it was Colin Baker.
I hope to still be alive for the 100th anniversary episode.
Matt and David possible, the classic ones no :-/
if they're lucky ...
Lily I'm sure we will have entered a new era by then, after Classic Who and New Who... Maybe New Who will be known as Classic Who?
Maybe...... New New Who.
my grandfather is 65 years now and he promised he will be there for the 100th anniversary special episode; if he can do it, everybody can.
they should've sang, "happy birthday to who..."
happy birthday to who happy birthday to who happy birthday dear doctor happy birthday to who
Exterminate………...
rAUSTINm alykazy
Colin Baker at the end was surprising.
yes! I was about to comment on that. I squealed :)
"You were expecting someone else?"
***** Yo know he's been narrating for the entire time right? And his voice hasn't changed? And it's in the description?
But it's his voice! It's like having Morgan Freeman narrate a documentary and notice only when...
we see his face
(dramatic sounds)
It's tom baker not Colin
I am not crying I just have the 50th anniversary in my eye
I really liked this 50th Anniversary Special, but it was kind of bittersweet for me. Mainly because Elisabeth Sladen wasn't alive to participate.
RIP Elisabeth Sladen, aka Sarah Jane Smith
SHE DIED WHAT THE FUCK WHEN i'm crying right now i liked her
Julia Kilimnick I think she died a few years ago from cancer. Don't trust me on that I can't quite remember
Julia Kilimnick
2011 from pancreatic cancer. Was diagnosed with it in January of that year, and died I believe in April
WAIT WHAT SHE IS DEAD
UHHH WHAT???!!!! WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT
THEY GOT HURT TO WEAR THE FEZ xD
I would have to get hurt to wear a fez...
I swear Matt Smith could literally be the 11th doctor. Same personality even when he isn't acting
Yes, he literally IS the Doctor.
No, he is Milo.
Just kidding, I agree with you.
What makes me so happy is how tom backer is still very happy to be associated with it, things like that show a true love of the show 💕
Billie piper is amazing ❤️
sad the 9th doctor didnt join this episode. hes the one who rebooted and brought this show back
Probably not, you know, cus of the whole situation that made him leave in the first place, wish they'd at least had him be in the final shot, it's stupid to CGI a man who did the role just about 10 years ago and doesn't look much different!
They asked him to come back. He didn't want to.
Im pretty sure he didnt come back because he had a disagreement about something to do with the show.
ShoutingGem no it's just because in his words "don't bathe in the same river twice"
Why did he even leave?
12:42 Look at John Hurt with the fez on! Really miss the legendary actor. Best coming together episode ever!
Love Colin Baker as the narrator.
I'd be great at narrating... I'd be the Great Narrator!
When he said "The sixth Doctor." I CRIED
me 2
To most of us watching it in the movie theater after the main show. this came as a surprise. All through this, I was thinking, "this voice sounds familiar...."
But there have been so many actors in Who over the years.
I knew it was the Sixth Doctor at the first word he spoke in the video
JLG Movies same haha
I knew he sounded familiar :')
I knew that voice the entire time I was like "is that Colin?"
I remember showing my little Brother blink and him being too scared to watch anything else from the show. Now he ks the single biggest whovian I know. He went to the Emerald City Comicon dressed as the 10th Doctor to get David Tennant's autograph. He's been the Doctor for Halloween multiple times. It's just wonderful to see the love he has for it.
OMG i actually almost teared up watching this
happy 50th anniversary DW
I did cry :')
See you in 50 years for the 100th Anniversary Doctor Who Special!
G_Man Ill be 61 years old.
I feel reaallly old now. D:
bionicleeats voltix same
bionicleeats voltix I'll be 67 ;o
I would have been cool if Donna was in it and Martha and it would be cool to see what rose should do if she meet river

i would do *anything* to see that!! XD
Melody ouuuuu rose meet river omg yessss
Bite me alien Bwuoiy
God tennant fans
Jenna awkwardly realising they were following her from her trailer. She is honest to God so adorable
There wast this guy (Matt Smith lookalike actually) in the red chair at the Graham Norton show and he wanted to know if they got the fez on John Hurt :P well he got his answer :)
'If you think about it, we're all different people all through our lives, and that's good you've got to keep moving, as long as you remember all the people you used to be.
I will not forget one line of this, not one day, I swear.
I will always remember when the Doctor was Me.'
01:05
the origin of that friendship
i believe when they filmed David T.'s regeneration in the End Of Time
yeaj
Colin Baker at the end took me completely by surprise!
I'm happy to live in a small city that has had many scenes from doctor who filmed in our churches and castles.
Cardiff?
It was incredible! Just a bit sad there wasn't a 10 and rose scene :(
"The thing is...I don't want to go." - 10, as he walks into the TARDIS.
"He says that all the time." - 11 whispering to War Doctor.
Oh ffs Moffat -_-
I still can't look at John Hurt without tearing up a little. R.I.P 1940-2017
I'm in tears.
I feel you
its nice to see colin baker voice over this mini-confidential!
After half finishing hearing the unreleased Season 23 audiobooks Colin did for Big Finish this video will do nicely. Colin has such an impressive speaking voice.
Eccleston said no to making an appearance? That glorious bastard.
he doesn't even watch doctor who anynore.
He never really wanted to be in the show in the first place from what I heard.
+ToastCrossDimensions He was the one who emailed RTD when they were looking for the part
Yes he was filming Thor 2: The Dark World and couldn't show up, but apparently he had a fight with two executives that were high up in the BBC and there was a lot of tension and hostility on set, while filming, etc. that Eccleston found unbearable, he then emailed Russell T Davies and told him that he wanted to quit. That's at least what I've heard, I also heard something about him getting pissed over complaints about his Northern Accent, possibly also from the BBC executives. Which is incidentally why David Tennant was told to phone in an English Accent, apparently.
Raymond S. lmao
Joanna's giggling and excitement is contagious. I really like her sassy queen portrayal.
The last scene made me cry so much you could have gone swimming
I have to say Tom Baker still looks just as insane as he used to
“Good luck to the future.” They definitely need it😭
Feeling a bit emotional now. Lovely to hear Colin. ❤️
They did actually ask Christopher eccleston to be in it but he decided not to
I have one thing to say........
50th aniversary 9th doctor: And for my next trick!
Jake Priaulx that was stock footage, and he refused for the same reason he left. He didnt like how the show was being run.
FeeSH Actually, Moffat and Chris met up to talk about it, Chris read the script, and he kindly declined the offer, he wished everyone good luck though, Chris isnt on bed terms with Doctor Who anymore, cause its different people running it since his run, if he was willing to meet with Moffat, that shows Chris might consider coming back, if he truly felt it was time to come back.
I loved the 50th anniversary when I was 11.
Can’t wait for the 100th anniversary when I’m 61.
I just love that Amy's glasses got so much screentime... that way she was always there. My favourite companion.
Tom Baker was my Doctor. We would catch episodes here and there on PBS in the US. I never understood what was going on, but I loved it. I am a fan for life!
12:16 John Hurt is in a fez!!!!!!
Imagine if 10 met 12
o my lord eyebrow Ception
O shit
They did meet. Caecellius (dunno howta spell)?
Sean Grand
Wait thats a thing?! ITS A EPISODE?!
Celestia Playz the fires of Pompeii
10th is my Doctor, but I eventually warmed up to 11 as well. Matt Smith wearing glasses at the readthrough is very very hot.
+Christina B. Tenth is my Doctor too, He's the one who got me started, I was home one day and I happened to flip on BBC America which was airing "The Fires of Pompeii" and That got me hooked instantly.
the first episode i watched was the angel episode XD
Matt is not hot, he's not a temperature
I got started from Matt Smith, he got me into watching doctor who
My forst episode, like a lot of people's, was Blink, but my forst episode that actually had the Doctor in it was The Eleventh Hour. I watched it on a tiny screen at a friend's birthday party and got hooked
Aw the John hurt part made me cry, RIP
Honestly, I haven't watched the oldschool series (yet...), but I still felt all this pride, all this mix of emotions during watching this episode. That was FANTASTIC
Crying, this is so beautiful! I just want to hug all of the people in this video :)
Hurt is amazing!
I got to meet Colin Baker earlier this year at Comic-Con, and I am so glad that I did. Happy anniversary Doctor Who, and thank you to all of those who have worked on it in the past!
02:45 MY HEARTS BREAK.
"Heartbreak is a burden to us all, pity the man with two." - Madam Vastra.
CHILLS AT THE END
I wonder how David felt when he saw Billie
I can't stop smiling laughing and crying 😄😂😭
Dolly Twins Especially after that one episode of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, in which she got all wibbly wobbly with Matt Smith😂
The end where everyone was wishing a happy anniversary made me tear up a bit. It was very nice and meaningful.
i cant believe its been 10 years already. i will never forget.
Is it weird that I saw this several times ?
I still get emotional every time.
12:42 john hurt in a fez XD
Oh that last scene had me in tears MY HEART CANT HANDLE
This was absolutely brilliant!!! I loved everything about this!
Cool to see the fez on John Hurt at the end. RIP.
Can't wait to see Peter capaldi begin ( also I might miss matt smith :'( .) I hope to see more of billie piper :)
That shot with all the Doctors is so wonderful, certainly had me crying when I watched the episode.
This was brilliant, unexpectedly brilliant- so many fantastic references
I want to see Capaldi and Hartnell (well, Bradley) together.
That would be epic
I'd watch that.
did that in the the latest episode
Alex Kramer are you a timelord because you just told future?
Alex Kramer Wish fulfilled!
I love Osgood, I wouldn't mind if she ended up being the new companion
I don't generally "react". I just watch and enjoy. BUT I literally had goosebumps as 11 walked into the smoking cloud of 1 - 10. Brilliant.
thank you doctor who and happy 50th birthday!
clara's stunt double hahaha
I have infinite respect for Colin Baker. After he was terribly mistreated by the BBC and was fired for the sole reason of not being particularly well written, he still comes back and does all the audio commentaries and the conventions and everything. He had every right to be like Christopher Eccleston and hate the show, but he still came back, and for that, I have so much love for him.
Eccleston doesn't hate the show!
Oh my God, when I saw Tom Baker in this episode my mouth dropped and my eyes went wide with just pure surprise and joy.
Why am I crying! At the end when they had everyone wish Doctor Who a happy anniversary I just felt this tear slide down my cheek!
Here's to the next 50 years Doctor Who!
All of them are amazing :'3 The day of the Doctor is my favourite episode:3
For me, I think the Day of the Doctor was good, but it was lacking in a few things. It focused mostly on the new revived series, pretty much forgetting about the previous 43 years, with the exception of some snippets and references to the past. I really liked the plot though, with the War Doctor, and the time war etc. but here's my list as to what they should have done, and relatively could have actually done if Moffat was a better writer (#RTD):
1) More Doctors. What they really could've done was bring back Doctors 5, 6, 7 and 8, and have these in the special alongside Hurt, Tennant, and Smith. They could've easily done this, as the 4 actors (Davison, C Baker, McCoy and Mcgann) are all still involved with the show, and would've happily taken part if they had been asked. Then towards the end of the special have Tom Baker make his cameo, as actually seen in the special. The first 3 actors have obviously unfortunately passed away, and Eccleston is a bit of c*** regarding Doctor who, so 8 doctors in the special would have been perfect.
2) More companions. Have at least one companion from each era of the doctor to pair up with their respective Doctor. My personal choices: Janet Fielding as Tegan with the 5th Doctor, Nicola Bryant as Peri with the 6th Doctor, Sophie Aldred as Ace with the 7th Doctor, and have other companions from the show to pair up with companion lite Doctors in the special (Mcgann, Tennant etc.) such as perhaps Carol Ann Ford and William Russell with the 8th doctor, and John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness with the 10th Doctor.
3) More returning monsters. As much I loved to see the Zygons back, It just felt a bit random. if they had returned along with the Cybermen, the Sontarans, the silurians, the weeping angels, and many more returning monsters, then it would be big and full of action, which was another thing the Day of the Doctor was lacking in. Frankly the Pandorica Opens felt more like the 50th anniversary than the Day of the Doctor did in terms of returning monsters lol.
4) A darker opening to the special. Instead of just opening with Clara at the school, I feel as if it should have opened where we left off at the end of 'The name of the Doctor', with the War Doctor standing on that landscape, with flashbacks of the time war etc, before going into the original opening title (which was an awesome touch) and Coal Hill School scenery with Clara etc.
If these had been included, then it would have been the 50th anniversary, no doubt, not the 8th anniversary of new who lol.
this was an amazing dvd, watched it till 3am ish & all the extras too!!! I share this as watching it empowered so many good memories & the cameos blew me away!!! I went to a convention in Washington State around the "Dr. Who Community" & nothing but so glad to have lived it & so glad to have seen this entire video as memories rolled & OMG... speechless, Thank you everyone!!!
Brilliant. Sentimental at the end, in a good way. Was in tears at the finale. So glad the secrets were kept off the internet and/or that I managed to avoid them.
COLIN BAKER OHMYGOD
1:34 did anyone else notice the Dalek behind David and Matt pointing it's gun at Matt's head?
It was a Dalek plan to kill the doctor before he regenerated so they would finally be able to conquer the universe!!!!!!
Bloody marvellous, great narration. looking forward to the next season... good luck and happy fortunes to ALL the casts and crews
Love, love, love Colin Baker's voice
The reveal at the end made my jaw drop xD
Happy anniversary, Doctor Who ..! I am a Fan now and always will be :-) ...
Great video. I especially liked seeing the behind the scenes for all Doctors scene at the end. I know the faces were perfect in the movie OR behind the scenes, but that's still cool.
One word AMAZING !!!!
it would be so cool if all the doctors and companions could meet!! that would be a dream come true!!! XD
This is brilliant. :) I can't wait til Christmas! :D
Yes you can
Brisk Lloydavator How do you know? I can't actually. I'm dying. I won't make it another week. So there.
