Hey y’all it’s not just TikTok shop! I buy my nail stuff straight from the manufacturers so I see immediately what’s drop shipped here. Do your research! Especially since places like Etsy are no longer about handmade stuff anymore unfortunately. It’s everywhere
Another thing that pisses me off about TikTok shop is a lot of the people I see advertising the products are people who are genuinely in a bad space and need money. One of my mutuals on TikTok is living paycheck to paycheck in a sober hotel in Vegas and they’re doing TikTok shop to get free things so they don’t have to pay for them. It’s people like him that are constantly on the brink of homelessness because they only have money for rent and that’s it that are finding Tiktok shop to be a way to make ends meet. But when hasn’t capitalism prayed on the poor
I’m sorry but the British TikTok is full of videos of people tryin to sell: ugly dresses for £7, 96 rolls of toilet paper for 9,99, or makeup brushes like it’s 2016… TikTok needs to stop this
I only used tiktok during the quarantine, and now whenever I feel nostalgic for it these kinda stories come out so I don't regret deleting the app at all.
I keep seeing these people on my fyp and all they do is sell tik tok shop items. They keep trying to tell you that its the best quality stuff but its selling for $2. I guess some peoples whole life is revolved around pushing out these cheap products and trying to tell us that they are the highest quality. Just making the over consumption problem worse. I'm sick of it. Thank you for highlighting some of these issues
I have a tik tok shop where I sell my handcrafted unique bath, body and skincare. Their entire platform is a nightmare. They push all the drop shipping junk over real small makers of quality stuff.
This makes me think of my health insurance issue-my pharmacy blamed my insurance, my insurance blamed my doctor, my doctor blamed my pharmacy and I ended up going 3 days without medication I take daily and had horrible headaches all 3 days. It took 6 phone calls and a lot of holding to straighten out an issue that no one claimed was their fault but then magically my script was ready at the pharmacy a few days later.
I’m confused just because people watched the video how does that translate in sales… it looks like a horrible product I would never dry my skin out like that
It's not even a brand. I searched the spray on Taobao and Shopee which are both Asian B2C platforms and it's there for cheap. The "brand" is a dropshipping business. She won't be getting money from these people.
Ok I have about the same amount of followers she has and my only hang up on this is that I was under the belief TikTok handles the commissions and it’s all done on the apps side of things. The company sounds like it could be predatory (a lot in the shop are) but I’m not sure how they’d be able to remove her commissions. I am curious how the engagement was on the video because TikTok may push these videos but the engagement ends up super low normally because people don’t actually watch them. And TikTok is known for being TERRIBLE about their creator support so I have to wonder if the app was the original at fault party….
I genuinely feel like 2021 was the last time this app was great. BUT it was alright till about Summer of 2022. Since then, It’s just been one big commercial for me. Haven’t used TikTok since January. I don’t miss it.
Same! I do this too on Amazon. I’m not clicking on ANY influencers links. They’re refusal to follow FTC guidelines and laws tell me every I need to know about them and their motives!
Amazon has the same problem. I was gonna buy a pencil case I found but then last minute I decided to run it through Temu and AliExpress and you know what it was on there fraction of the price that it was being sold for on amazon.
I haven't used TikTok since 2020 but I hear about so much drama simply due to the crazy things going on in the app. People just genuinely forgot how to not overshare, I don't understand how people can put their entire lives on display. No matter how many warnings you may tell someone not to do something simply due to the fact of how dangerous it is people don't care as long as they go viral or get attention. While going viral used to be a big thing farther back as well, it was more natural and wasn't forced, no one was getting harmed because why would you recreate something so dumb?
They think she's young and naive and so the brand thought they could scare her with the threat of suing her when she could have them jailed for fraud. Always consult an attorney, people. Don't let companies roll over you.
I bought 90% of my Christmas gifts from TikTok shop. Out of the almost 100 items I bought, only had an issue 1 brand. Some of those, I was shipped MULTIPLES, I’m guessing since TikTok shop was so new, they couldn’t handle the overwhelming amount of orders they received.
"hair identifier spray" ????? Okayyyy 🧐🙄 The company bringing a suit against her - she can easily prove they never paid her, they can't prove they did unless they fudge it, so how is it slander or whatever they're claiming for her to tell the truth about their scamming her?
Kinda hard to "vet" brands when you actually want to buy their product. I've been on the hunt for a similar spray since I'm also in Canada and can't use the ship
Thankfully we don't have tiktok shop in Canada. My american friends are always talking about their tiktok shop hauls and it all looks like dropshipped garbage. But I don't blame them for buying it, I would too. It's like how I was having multiple amazon packages delivered every day 😂
am i the only one who is just so over tiktok? what was once a fun, silly social media platform has just become such a cesspool… i’m done being ’influenced’ and sold to, and the overall capitalist hellscape that tiktok pushes. i know it’s not just tiktok, but idk… i’m done w the BS
This is crazy. I’ve deff had some less than desirable interactions with TT Shop sellers, but for other reasons. I made over $20k in a month from a video that got 4.5M views though, and sellers CAN change your commission amount without your knowledge but I don’t even know how this could have been possible 😳
Man what sucks I’m in TTS too, sadly sometimes glitches happen. It happened to me this past weekend while doing 1+ hr live stream which had over 3K views and lots of people checking things out in the cart which I was promoting. I get off live and realized none of the data from the streams were showing. In fact it was completely gone you can’t even see it as a shop live. I had to submit IT ticket and still no responses from TikTok. I’m pretty bummed because I felt it was a good live and I was sure I’d have a decent amount of sales 😢. But this video situation is beyond outrageous! So the brand does need to approve you to make commission off a shoppable video. I almost wonder if maybe she only choose the item from her purchase items listed, verse selecting from market place which then request brand approval. Once you have brand approval you can start making commissions. Either way it would suck, but I kinda think this might be the issue/glitch. 😢
She's shaving... her face...... what in the actual **** has this world come to. Btw you can get a can of snow spray paint at Walmart for 3 bucks🤣 that's a dusting of powder in a can mixed with water lol
I just can’t stand anymore influencers promoting products for free and them crying online when their videos blow up and the brands don’t pay them. Be smarter and close a deal before posting the video so you can get your bag and not promote for free.

@@froggyringufor a marketplace that’s still pretty new, but tbh I feel like they tried to grow this section of their business way too fast before good systems were set in place.
It’s the new MLM rush. All the ladies who had MLM links are all on TikTok shop
Usually influencers are unbearable but this situation is fucked up
Block them all!!
Right ? Who cares. Just another desperate "content creator"
Idc but that girl smells like desperation to be a famous influencer
Funny how the influencers are outraged when THEY get scammed, BUT when we the followers are being scammed every single day because they refuse to disclose per the FTC LAWS, it’s okay?! Cry me a river, I don’t feel sorry at all. They deserve to get a taste of their own medicine ‼️‼️‼️🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m sorry but the British TikTok is full of videos of people tryin to sell: ugly dresses for £7, 96 rolls of toilet paper for 9,99, or makeup brushes like it’s 2016…
TikTok needs to stop this
I can never trust the dresses, jumpsuits or two pieces cause of this. Some of them look see-through too
🤣
Tik tok is now the new QVC or HSN
Omg not the blush girl 😭
Get the parties blaming each other into one call..
I’m confused just because people watched the video how does that translate in sales… it looks like a horrible product I would never dry my skin out like that
I think it's to do with the engagement of the video. The more people who show an interest in a product then the more likely they are to buy it
I won't be mad if tiktok gets banned.
Not ONE OUNCE of disappointment! It is the worst app ever, and now that the entire app is just one big grift in one way or another. I can't stand it!!
It would brought back my hope for the future. I'm actually worried where this is headed.
It's not even a brand. I searched the spray on Taobao and Shopee which are both Asian B2C platforms and it's there for cheap. The "brand" is a dropshipping business. She won't be getting money from these people.
Ngl I’ve been blocking anything TikTok shop. It’s just getting annoying
Even if I see something I want to buy on TikTok shop I NEVER shop through an affiliate/LTK link. I don’t really trust TikTok shop lol
Same! I do this too on Amazon. I’m not clicking on ANY influencers links. They’re refusal to follow FTC guidelines and laws tell me every I need to know about them and their motives!
I honestly don't trust tiktok shop with the amount of dropshippers the thing has
Amazon has the same problem. I was gonna buy a pencil case I found but then last minute I decided to run it through Temu and AliExpress and you know what it was on there fraction of the price that it was being sold for on amazon.
Not them copying Kim Kardashians brand name skims 😂
3:20 does she not know what peach fuzz is? 💀
While going viral used to be a big thing farther back as well, it was more natural and wasn't forced, no one was getting harmed because why would you recreate something so dumb?
okay but like.. snow chewbacca had me rolling. that chick's hilarious!
I had no idea TikTok even had a shop; but then again I don’t have TikTok, so there’s that lol 😂
I’ve never been tempted by TikTok either.xx😂
They think she's young and naive and so the brand thought they could scare her with the threat of suing her when she could have them jailed for fraud. Always consult an attorney, people. Don't let companies roll over you.
i absolutely howled at "forbidden parmesan"
This is why I don’t go on TikTok
I bought 90% of my Christmas gifts from TikTok shop. Out of the almost 100 items I bought, only had an issue 1 brand. Some of those, I was shipped MULTIPLES, I’m guessing since TikTok shop was so new, they couldn’t handle the overwhelming amount of orders they received.
"hair identifier spray" ????? Okayyyy 🧐🙄
The company bringing a suit against her - she can easily prove they never paid her, they can't prove they did unless they fudge it, so how is it slander or whatever they're claiming for her to tell the truth about their scamming her?
Kinda hard to "vet" brands when you actually want to buy their product. I've been on the hunt for a similar spray since I'm also in Canada and can't use the ship
The amount of people who would never buy on Shein or Temu but love tiktok shop🤦🏼♀️
Thank goodness Tiktok is banned where I live....I don't have to face the torment of everyone pushing products whenever I scroll through.
THAT APP IS A SCAM
I’m so happy I never bought anything off tik tok shop
Someone bought a litter box and got it full of cat 💩
Thankfully we don't have tiktok shop in Canada. My american friends are always talking about their tiktok shop hauls and it all looks like dropshipped garbage. But I don't blame them for buying it, I would too. It's like how I was having multiple amazon packages delivered every day 😂
Or maybe they don’t make much money because dollar store baby powder and dollar store razors will do the same thing.
I knew you where Canadian 🇨🇦 because of how u say some words haha
I have never used Tik Tok and never will but I don't know why I am so invested in all the drama happening there 😄
Same!xx😂
I only buy books from authors on TikTok shop for the discounts and the extra art
I will never shave my face like that no matter what
Tiktack still gets a side eye from me. Probably BOTH being shady and suspicious…
Off topic but...what the heck was the green blush? It just made her look sickly at the end
“I was broke yesterday I’m broke today nothings changed”…. Mood😂
This isnt the first or only time ive heard about something on TT
When I see the orange shopping cart I just keep going. I really hate those videos 😅
I hope she can find a company that makes a similar item who would want to sponsor her
I dont think it matters if y'all got the shop or not concidering its going away in like 8ish months 😬
We've hit peak Black Mirror!
am i the only one who is just so over tiktok? what was once a fun, silly social media platform has just become such a cesspool… i’m done being ’influenced’ and sold to, and the overall capitalist hellscape that tiktok pushes. i know it’s not just tiktok, but idk… i’m done w the BS
But seriously, am I supposed to feel sorry for her? The entitlement
This is crazy. I’ve deff had some less than desirable interactions with TT Shop sellers, but for other reasons. I made over $20k in a month from a video that got 4.5M views though, and sellers CAN change your commission amount without your knowledge but I don’t even know how this could have been possible 😳
I’m glad. Why? Because how many “influencers” have scammed people
Good thing I don't have tik tok
I’m sorry , she doesn’t deserve to get scammed but the Rachel girl saying she’s broke is such a lie LOL
It’s so annoying as a Canadian who sees the content but doesn’t have access to the shop 😂😂😭
I cant believe we ruined society for what was going to end up being aliexpress
I just can’t stand anymore influencers promoting products for free and them crying online when their videos blow up and the brands don’t pay them. Be smarter and close a deal before posting the video so you can get your bag and not promote for free.
That’s why research the company before making a purchase following the link, IF I’m gonna make a purchase on tik tok I’m only doing small business that they make themselves
