Thanks- wow, amazing- the Milwaukee zoo could learn by taking Paris as a role model.

The Penguin jumping out of the Water was cool. I've never seen them do that in captivity.

Yeah it was also a first for me! Did make me wonder if any one day would end up at the other side of the glass wall haha.

Dracaena are incredible! Just lika all the other semiaquatic lizards. Lanthanotus are still unmatched tho.. 🙌

I remember seeing Iberian wolves for the first time in the Montpellier zoo near where I grew up in southern France (used to be called "Parc du Lunaret"). They have common species but also some more unusual subspecies like that. They also have a rainforest greenhouse that was built later. The core of the zoo is set up very differently than the Zoo of Paris, using the natural mediterranean maquis and forest from the original park. I would advise against visiting in the summer season however, as the climate changes have made the heat weaves constant and unbearable for months at a time; spring would be the best season, as the autumns can quite rainy (but again this is changing due to climate change and there has been droughts for the past couple years).
If you like aquatic species, there's also a cool 'seaquarium' in western France (in Brest) called Oceanopolis. The largest exhibit and rather extensive focus on native temperate sea fauna (crustaceans, fish, sharks etc), while the tropical and polar sections are smaller, but that's where you'd see the seals, penguins, otters and whatnot.

Great info! Would really like to explore some more French parks. Thanks for the recommendation.
I thought the Iberians where really cool to see. Very different also in build and coat, although it was also beginning Februari so probably wintercoat. Talking about them makes we want to go to Ouwehands Rhenen again as they have wolfes and bears combined in a big enclosure in middle of forest area.
In the next 2 months I will finally visit Prague and Zurich. Very curious about those very different but well know zoos.
