I was 14, okay?
Even thought there's not much meaning behind that number, it's still very pretty to look at. Huge thanks to everyone who forgot to unsub from the Dark Souls era and to newcomers as well. I am truly grateful to have an audience to show my work to. Thank you, and I hope you'll at least have a good laugh at this masterpiece. - Ігри
Man source 3 looking like real life
hahaha facts xD
@@pouncelygrin6699 10 months late but facts
Soon they're going to come out with source 4 which IS real life
@@InsideYourClosetRn69 5 month late but facts
@@user-my4zs7mx2s8 months still speaking facts
You literally just brought me back 15 years with this - used to spend countless hours in the early days of Gmod making my own stories in the Half-Life universe. Always kick myself for never getting into hammer/source film maker when I was younger and had the summer off. Never too late I guess right haha?
Just started with S2FM 9 months ago myself. Go for it!
Damn guy - that is a hell of a journey and progress to boot in less than a year!
@@TheParryGod did you have prior experience with SFM? did you feel like there was much skill overlap?
Don't give up. I just began to use Blender, to find my way back to the past, to get something that I can do for myself, and not for others.
I'm in pretty much the same situation, lots of regrets I didn't do stuff sooner. The only thing I can show for it is a website me and my friend maintain for our HL gmod stuff. I'm really starting to get into Hammer now and it's pretty fun. As you said it's never too late to start learning new shit for the Source engine especially since Hammer++ is now a thing
That moment when the health counter is at 90 is pretty relatable. Fall damage in Gmod can be annoying.
For being your first short film, this is pretty great! Have you considered remaking it today using your new experience and the techniques you've learned? I think that would be quite a treat!
I agree with this, although how many HL:A maps are in the forest? I hope there are plenty of good assets for you to use.
Once we'll have a good amount of EP2 assets for S2FM this is definitely something I want to revisit in the future. Something a bit more slow burning and sinister with a focus on Hunters.
@@TheParryGod I would love to see more with Hunters. One of the disturbing scenes I always remember from Episode 2 is when the Hunters attack the Secondary Silo, especially when you meet the guy and he gets dragged away by one. I always wanted to help him.
@@TheParryGod That already sounds excellent. I look forward to what you put out next!
@@TheParryGod Coming back and seeing this comment after seeing the Hunter video is comedic
"I was 14" that is no excuse for how good this actually is, you can even feel a bit of your current style on the combine soldier POV, definitely makes me wish I was doing SFM films at that age.
It's gmof
Yeah literally dude, stuff is top notch
It’s Gmod not SFM
Breh your cinematography was objectively very good for a 14 year old. Sure its a shoddy gmod machinima, but the core is there.
this has a distinct charm to it that reminds me of the old 2004-2009 half life and gmod machinimas, I really love it because that time period was special to me when I was a kid.
A great start, making it all the more impressive when you look at how far you've pushed the boundary since!
true!
this is the best one yet!
Amazing how this is like a child's crayon drawing compared to your latest stuff, yet still has a prototypical essence of your style.
Great job to your 14 year old self, and also huge waves of nostalgia from the way back when times. Nothing like the good old machinima days!
The quality varies quite a bit, but more than half of the scenes have really good atmosphere and expression. Big thanks for sharing this - while I'd love to see this touched up and remastered, even in its current shape it's already a gem.
bruh stop trying to give compliments when we all know its garbage
we are allowed to say it sucks as i mean its the creators first film and he was 14 when he made this
@@CRT_YT but it does have some good parts thoooooooough...
idk man we're also allowed to say that its good
i mean its not really good _in general_ but some specific parts are decent (by parts i mean like the camera angles and stuff)
@@CRT_YT oh bro i was getting a bad feeling that an argument is going to start but i felt so much relief when i read that lol
This is actually not all that bad. Even then your talent was apparent or at the least had a starting point from which to grow.
This was actually good for when you was 14 👍
So this person went from this to the best half life animations I've seen.....wow
I love how this is your first film and still has your style written all over it
OMG! when was this made!!!! XDD I'm an animator too, a stop motion one might I add, that make 30 fps toy figure shooting films, and I am majorly impressed with your first "film" (lol), I love all of your amazing works of art from the very first to the City 17 VHS tape and all the ones to come in the future! you are BY FAR my favorite animator of all time and you just have the perfect point of view for the Half Life Universe like no on else. I hope you make animations until the world explodes or at least for as long as I'm not blind lol.
-Joey 💚
Edit: and yes, I am aware this isn't exactly "Animated" but it had pretty great execution considering how very few tools Garry's Mod had back in the day, you deserve my full respect and love, from all of us.
It's SO CUTE! Man, every childhood creations are the most soulful creations at all!
Congrats of 50k! I found this channel yesterday and was amazed by how high quality it all was. I love your content, keep up the good work! :D
Thank you, and welcome!
Love the added subtitles explaining everything!
With this video, I can say something, AMAZING, that essence of your films was there from the beginning and was a key piece in creating films that with their atmosphere and themes plunge us into the world of half life from the first second. You are definitely my favorite animator.
This video is absolutely packed with nostalgia. Wish I still had some of my old projects.
Congrats on 50k!!!
Thank you!
Your uploads make me happy.
*Thanks for the Content* !
I congratulate you on 50,000! every time I watch your animations
Started from here now look at where you are, I salute and congratulate you for the effort you have made through the years dude 👏👏👏👏👏
A legend in the making.
Combat scene sold it for me. Good work. 👏👏👏👏👏
Once again, amazing work!
You were talented even at a young age.
I like your style man
🤩🤩
Listen, everyone starts somewhere, like not everyone is a prodigy, prodigies are exceptions not the norm, like I can tell this has effort and passion it just comes down to skills and motivation and the simple thing is that your skills have improved over time. Like I think it’s a bad idea to throw out your old work for a number of reasons but one of my reasons is because you need to know how far you’ve come, like when you’re making art it’s easy to get down on yourself and think you can’t improve anymore, but when you look at your early stuff you see the flaws easier and you can tell that you have come along way. Like I’ve been making pencil art since I was 5 and man it’s easy for me to rag on myself but like that’s the price of being creative, you’re your own worst critic. Anyway yeah I think I needed to get that out of my system.
is no one talking how absolutely gold the captions are XD
PC DYING
as a 3d modeler who renders a lot....i felt the pain
You should remake this, but in S2FM
The subtitles are Sublime
Look how far you've come. Time flies so fast.
Everyone starts on rough edges, so glad that you were able to smooth them out and chisle them into great animations.
The foreboding and intense storytelling a seeming trademark style you have developed def. present in this first film.
A remaster of this would be pretty neat
Dont remaster this. Use ur time and energy on something fresh up to date.
like animating this at age of 14 is insane. You got talent man keep going parry!
Masterpiece.
Turn on captions for developer commentary
Great nostalgic video. Now we just need its recreation with your current skills
Such high-octane action!
One of the best Half-life 2 and Half-Life Alyx short film maker I've ever seen.
dude i haven't seen this but it gave me nostalgia becuase i watch Gmod vids like this back then
You did great for your first animation.
Nice work, keep at it and I think you'll make a great S2FM animator some day!
A helmet camera, for like the Overwatch data feed, could be a really compelling concept combined with more modern animations... And back in the Gmod Idiot Box days of yore, pretty ahead of it's time too.
We all have to start somewhere...
Hey, that's not too bad for a 14 year old xD
We all start somewhere!
I liked this. The three gun ships flying out at exactly the same time was right on target
This is quite nice ! A true classic
Showing that even the best come from the bottom 💪 💪
Thank you for all that you do
I recognize those rebel models, suddenly the love you put in for Half Life is a bit more clear
Its crazy your upgrade
It's amazing how at even that age you were portraying the combine as what they truly are. Overwhelming power and all. Love the creativity displayed here, especially with the combine POV bits.
Ever heard of HL2RP?
After watching all of your Half Life oriented things, I still don't understand how you only 50k subs, good work on everything man and congrats
This reminds me of the "Zombie Horde" series that I watched back in high school
Yes!!!! Absolutely, definitely, without a shadow of a doubt that I'm pretty almost sure there was potentially a parry maybe possibly in the dark segment... I think
Now just Imagine if parry remade this....
still better than anything i could come up with in my entire life, humble but brilliant begginings
captions are great
another straight banger
watching this is just amazing, it shows how far your film making skills have come and how advanced source engine has become
i just love how nothing has changed either, its the same story of the combine's might and the futility of the human resistance, something we don't see enough in the half life games
Such an interesting first experience. We all were like that
I think I can recognise some tools and addons
Tho pretty curious about one at 1:42, I've seen a pov like that in E.Y.E. Is it an addon?
I like the first person view of the combine and rebels
humble beginnings :)
literal hood classic
It looks that you always had that fascination for the Combine soldiers, and I can't blame you, me too.
proof that parrygod doesn’t need S2 to make a literal masterpiece
Cool stuff man
0:51 this bits really cool.
Hey Parry, was just wondering what your plans are. Are you going to make a film starring Civil Protection this time? We've had citizens and Overwatch. Anyway, onto the gushing.
Jesus Christ you have an incomprehensible understanding of cinematography- not for this video of course, but for Protectors and the City 17 tape. Absolutely beautiful. Your abilities to put Grunts and Ordinals on the same spectrum but completely different to each other at the same time. Everything you do must have so much thought put into it and if I could I would applaud you until my fingers fell off. Bravo, sir. You should consider making a discord fan club.
Yeah you should remake this but with you new crazy skills
Nice
Better than anything I could make
This is more like watching a comedy than watching a drama holy shit
They grow up so fast
Nostalgia
Now we know the cameraman was here because he has his health bar visible this tim
I think more highly skilled creators should share their baby pictures. It's kind of inspiring to see that even the very best were once beginners too.
This was really funny hahahahaha. Not bad for a first one, but I had to crack up at how abrupt it ends with all the blood everywhere and then CUT
The subtitles were hilarious
Damn look at this then look at how he animates now. Damn
4K UHD 120FPS
I used to love watching videos like this.
Thank you very cool and very cool
I love it. Truly phenomenal! I honestly enjoyed it a lot, how long ago was this?
14 years? That's very impressive for that age.
For a 14 year old, this is pretty fucking stellar.
NICE
Would be pretty cool if you remake this with your improved skills.
But seriously, it’s really interesting to see how far you’ve gone.
coolness
omg i love the 480p cap XD
Pc dying part is relatable for me when playing on high graphics
At the time I had to take off the cover off my PC and jam a fan in the house so the GPU wouldn't shut off from overheating. What a piece of garbage that lovely machine was, haha.
Better than anything I could've made when I was 14
for 14 amazing i think
YOU NEED TO REMAKE THIS. PLEASE.
