took my 17 year old son to see these legends at this very gig....we both cried it was so overwhelming...and bolloxs to those twats who turned their back on Ronnie and the boys and ran to the beer tent....just cos it rained ! you missed a bloody good show !
you can sometimes see through frontmen who say, i don't care if its 100,000 or 100 people i play to. But you can tell they would be pissed. IM FAMOUS WHERE IS EVERYONE TO SEE ME?! but Dio was so serious, "I do not care" period. Legend.
Mad respect for him. Such a loss when he passed. True gentleman and, in my opinion, the voice of Metal. We won't see another like him in our lifetimes...
You're 100% right. The first time I saw Dio was on Dehumanizer '92, (front "row") in a small venue, maybe a couple thousand people, and it was amazing. Very next show was an arena in Dayton, Ohio. But the next time was Dio (the band) and it was a night club! Still a great show! Didn't matter, if you went to see him, you got 100% from him every time.
such a shame i never saw Dio live... I always knew who he was but i came a true fan after his death... like Ronnie said: No one sees an angel till it smashes to the ground... Im pretty mad at myself that i wasn't a real fan before his death. but on the other side i probably couldn't see him live cause i am pretty young. Still missing him :( ... but the music and the legacy lives on. ALL HAIL DIO! /,,/
I'm impressed that you're dropping some Magica lyrics on us! Great album, but don't beat yourself up over it. I missed a huge amount of Dio and I am a fan. Only in the last 6 years re-discovering what I missed when it was new. Heaven and Hell being one of them.
In his book, Geezer Butler wrote about how during this tour Ronnie would have severe stomach pain before and after shows, and how Ronnie refused to cancel shows. Ronnie loved performing and he loved his fans.
I'M A 49 YEAR OLD ROCK N METAL FAN.... IN ALL THE YEARS AND ALL THE BANDS I KNOW THERE WAS NO ONE ....ABSOLUTLY NO ONE..THAT CAME CLOSE TO THE POWER AND VOICE OF MR METAL...RONNIE JAMES DIO THE ONLY SINGER WITH ENOUGH PASSION TO MAKE YOU REALLY LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC ...THANKYOU FOR MAKING MY LOVE OF ROCK COMPLETE WITHOUT YOU IT JUST WONT BE THE SAME SING YOUR HEART TO GOD WITHOUT YOUR SUFFERING ..THE ONE AND ONLY KING OF ROCK N ROLL....
One of the best songs they'd ever written together. I will always wonder what the next album would have been like. In all the interviews I've seen, each said "This one was good, but the next one will be great!". Music fans had no better friend than Ronnie James Dio.
It was an honour to be in that crowd. The moment will stay with me forever - it was quite sunny, then their intro music started. All of a sudden the sun went behind a black cloud and it began to rain. Que the opening riff to this. Stunning. Miss you Dio
Thank you so much for uploading this. I was there in the pouring rain. The crowd may look a little unresponsive on the video but the energy in the air was very special. I think people knew this was perhaps the last time we'd ever see him, and just wanted to listen intently.
AWESOME!!! Ive linsened to Dio my whole life and loved it all!! From Elf to Rainbow to his solo stuff!!! It is all AWESOME!!! A true Rock Star GOD!! Long Live Ronnie James Dio!! R.I.P. Friend to us all.
Vinny never played with Ozzy so that may have been weird (maybe not, but...) the thing with that is Vinny's drum style is very different from Bill's style. If they were trying to capture the "Ozzy-era" vibe they needed a drummer that was more like Bill, I don't think Vinny would've been a good fit for that. Regardless, the drums weren't the problem with the 13 album. It just lacked something. Maybe having Bill would've made it click better, maybe not. Hard to say. But I was disappointed with it.
Wow....To say he still had it was an understatement! What a voice! I sing and I'm pretty good but not in the same league as RJD. I put him up there with Freddie as one of the all time greats. So wish I'd seen him live! Keep rocking wherever you are!xx
This lineup of legendary musicians was so special, it just embodies all that Heavy Metal was, is, and will ever be. And will always be my favorite Black Sabbath lineup -regardless of what any label says. Geezer, Vinny, the Grand Riffmaster/Godfather of Heavy Metal, and the Man on the silver mountain himself, RJD. They sit right at the top.
Magnificent performance by one helluva an amazing human being. Ronnie's Voice was still in stunning perfection despite age or anything else. Ronnie lives on in the hearts of fans who shall never forget Him.
Boy do I wish I could have seen them play this album LIVE. It sets itself up to be played life. His comment about Freddie and Queen just shows how much respect musicians have for each other across the genres. Plus Tony and Brian May are pals.
Ronnie James Dio is a true icon! All of the times I have been blessed seeing him, he has never disappointed me at all! I will do my part to make sure his memory stays alive!
Long live, god of rock'n'roll. We -- the fans -- are with you, and our prayers for your good health -- let them warm and heal. Thank you from Russia, stave of rock.
+Michael Stepheni was lucky to be there for this performance. and the power and charisma from a sick man at the time. he did amazing. god like. he is truly and always will be a legend a inspiration, a hero.
+sin Brown I was there too. It's so funny looking back, because I was 10 years old at the time. I loved Black Sabbath even then, so when my dad told me that Heaven and Hell were pretty much Black Sabbath, I was over the fucking moon. Of course, because I was so young, Sabbath = Ozzy Osbourne to me. And because of that, I was actually DISAPPOINTED. I was disappointed at getting to see fucking DIO play on of his FINAL SHOWS EVER. I wish I could smack younger-me in the head for being so ignorant, quite honestly.
The first few comments from Ronnie,at the beginning of this program, constitute the most honorable mission statement any true musician could possibly hope to have.He is so missed.
You misunderstand me, I absolutely love Sabbath, been my favorite band since I was 15 (I'm 21 now), and of course they aren't Children of Satan, but they make the sun set as if they were (;
Ronnie was just a couple years shy of 70! He devoted his whole life to the fans and his music. I cant imagine anyone every leaving a more proud legacy behind. He is a true role model to anyone with a passion not just rock and roll. Even beyond all that the man was a true gentleman. He treated anyone he met like family. He will be missed by many and the music he left behind cherished by all of his fans. I would like to urge the newer fans to pick up all his back catalog. Goodbye Ronnie R.I.P
i felt quite sorry for heaven and hell when i was at sonisphere cus it was raining meaning that there weren't as many people there and people weren't going as crazy as they could do. but as you can see here it still didn't stop them performing awesomely
Amazing how this old guys have so much energy. They are kicking ass, Dio was 67 years old here if I'm not mistaken. R.I.P. His fire is dead now. But we will light it up everytime we listen to him, and when we play his songs. _|m|
yes i get what you're trying to say. it's epic. it's like metallica's fade to black, megadeth's in my darkest hour, dio's very own don't talk to strangers
absolutely epic! been trying to find this vid on youtube ages, dads fav song and he missed his fav part trying to talk to some random person asking him a question!!! cheers for the upload, love you for it ;)
this and the machine head performance and the lamb of god performance stuck in my mind forever, best weekend ever. r.i.p ronnie. gone BUT never forgotten \\m//dio\\m//
Was a fantastic performance as ever. Was the highlight of the weekend for me, despite the lack of interest from a lot of mugs in the crowd, who were pretty poor all weekend. Had dio tickets for Nov as well, which was obviously cancelled. Get well soon Ronnie!
Dio is still kicking my ass even after he is gone. I almost wish I had waited until this H&H incarnation to see them. The sound is awesome. I saw the Nashville leg of The Mob Rules tour, and Dio was a lot gruffer sounding back then, like he'd been gargling with Draino I think the technology just wasn't as good and he had to strain more. Thank goodness for DVDs and UA-cam.
Weird that he remember is one of the last shows Freddie did, this must beone of his last show? There won't be another like him, a true legend and a really nice guy. RIP Dio
This was a 67 year old man a year away from passing from cancer and he still sounded better than most singers in their prime. Simply incredible.
hi
Truly he was the king of metal.
That's why he is my personal #1 vocalist and frontman in metal - intelligent lyrics, an amazingly powerful voice and a magical presence on stage!
hi.. I have always loved this riducaly heavy
and he was black sabbaths best frontman
Dio was unreal. Most singers in their prime would kill to sound as good as he did when he was 67.
Steely_Fran TRUE STORY
At least he went out on top in his prime!
At 67 a year from dying of cancer no less. He was built different.
took my 17 year old son to see these legends at this very gig....we both cried it was so overwhelming...and bolloxs to those twats who turned their back on Ronnie and the boys and ran to the beer tent....just cos it rained ! you missed a bloody good show !
Ugh... I just can't watch Dio or even listen to him sing anymore without getting a little heartbroken every time... :(
A true hero has fallen.
Same here😢
one of the greatest guitar riffs ever. and one of the greatest metal and or hard rock singers of all time. (in my opinion)
let me go....i've found addiction....and it makes me feel alive......
Take me back....... I must have the BIBLE BLACK!!!!!
you can sometimes see through frontmen who say, i don't care if its 100,000 or 100 people i play to. But you can tell they would be pissed. IM FAMOUS WHERE IS EVERYONE TO SEE ME?! but Dio was so serious, "I do not care" period.

We still mourning your demise DIO . You still the best metal singer of all history . You never ever gonna be forgotten ❤️

I am proud that you have DIO in your life. Angels always give to us- Never Smashed to the ground!!!
I'm impressed that you're dropping some Magica lyrics on us! Great album, but don't beat yourself up over it. I missed a huge amount of Dio and I am a fan. Only in the last 6 years re-discovering what I missed when it was new. Heaven and Hell being one of them.
As if the ground could possibly smash Dio. The man was a fire breathing dragon. 🔥 🔥 🔥
I was 12 when he died, so I also never got to see him live and I really wish I did as well.
In his book, Geezer Butler wrote about how during this tour Ronnie would have severe stomach pain before and after shows, and how Ronnie refused to cancel shows. Ronnie loved performing and he loved his fans.
Its amazing how this man in his 60s sounded better than most singers in their prime. He was a rare breed of talent that we don't see often. RIP
No doubt. And he was already 23 years into his career when he recorded Neon Knights

I can't believe how good they sound here!
YES.! KILLER.!!! Long Live RONNIE..
What a Fantastic voice Ronnie had made for singing Metal
It was an honour to be in that crowd. The moment will stay with me forever - it was quite sunny, then their intro music started. All of a sudden the sun went behind a black cloud and it began to rain. Que the opening riff to this. Stunning. Miss you Dio
He left us with one last great iconic classic. RIP Ronnie.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I was there in the pouring rain. The crowd may look a little unresponsive on the video but the energy in the air was very special. I think people knew this was perhaps the last time we'd ever see him, and just wanted to listen intently.
Nobody understands how purified and awesome this IS! Seriously. The guy just took over. Legend.
AWESOME!!! Ive linsened to Dio my whole life and loved it all!! From Elf to Rainbow to his solo stuff!!! It is all AWESOME!!! A true Rock Star GOD!! Long Live Ronnie James Dio!! R.I.P. Friend to us all.
Incredible..Ronnie could carry a note at any age. His genuine appreciation for fans.....Damn I miss him
Vinny should've played on drums on 13 when they couldn't get Bill. At least he is a legit Sabbath drummer with a lot of history in the band.
Helium Road I thought that same fuckin thing
Vinny never played with Ozzy so that may have been weird (maybe not, but...) the thing with that is Vinny's drum style is very different from Bill's style. If they were trying to capture the "Ozzy-era" vibe they needed a drummer that was more like Bill, I don't think Vinny would've been a good fit for that. Helium Road why bitch about perfection
That's the absolute and only truth.
Or Cozy P
This is so fuckin awesome kicks ass, Dio that voice OMG rock on
This performance always leaves a lump in my throat. Last ever dio performance I was ever privileged to see live!
Wow....To say he still had it was an understatement! What a voice! I sing and I'm pretty good but not in the same league as RJD. I put him up there with Freddie as one of the all time greats. So wish I'd seen him live! Keep rocking wherever you are!xx

agreed, Iommi and Dio are just perfect for this.
That riff is MASSIVE. Dio is magical as always and Iommi is and always will be the riff GOD
This was the only time I seen him. Was really magical, even in the rain. RIP to a true legend. :')
i don't remember it raining on that performance. but it was years ago. first and last time i got to see him live. loved this performance.
Why after that damn 16th of May 2010 I cry everytime I watch a video with Ronnie?
I'm missing him so much.
Magnificent performance by one helluva an amazing human being. Ronnie's Voice was still in stunning perfection despite age or anything else. Ronnie lives on in the hearts of fans who shall never forget Him.
Even in his later years dio was fucking amazing.
Nice shout-out to Queen there, Ronnie. Man, why the hell wasn't he invited to the Freddie Tribute in '92? He would've been the best singer there.
Ronnie is a once in a lifetime artist. Just breathtaking
KEEP RESTING PEACEFULLY
BROTHER RJD!
🤘😎🤘
THANK YOU FOR
GIVING US YOUR
EVERYTHING ALWAYS!
CLASSIC , BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!

I really love the bass line throughout this song, you can really hear it here in this recording.. LOVE IT.
This is far better than the tired old stuff off the 13 tour by the "official" Sabbath
+Michael Stepheni was lucky to be there for this performance. and the power and charisma from a sick man at the time. he did amazing. god like. he is truly and always will be a legend a inspiration, a hero.
Yes, I saw Dio several times from the 80's onward - he never put on a dissapointing show.
+sin Brown I was there too. It's so funny looking back, because I was 10 years old at the time. I loved Black Sabbath even then, so when my dad told me that Heaven and Hell were pretty much Black Sabbath, I was over the fucking moon.

I discovered Sabbath back in 79 when Oz was still with them. I viewed their (then new) H&H album with suspicion - that is, until I heard the singer!!
I agree 100%
saw him 15 times will always be the greatest voice in rock!!!!!
Badass song! Four giants in the stage
The first few comments from Ronnie,at the beginning of this program, constitute the most honorable mission statement any true musician could possibly hope to have.He is so missed.
Dio absolutely loved performing. Even when his popularity was erroded, even when he was old, he gave it 110% every show.
You misunderstand me, I absolutely love Sabbath, been my favorite band since I was 15 (I'm 21 now), and of course they aren't Children of Satan, but they make the sun set as if they were (;
Absolutely AMAZING Performance
Damn this is BAD ASS! love it!

Almost 70 Years old, dying from cancer , burning by chemotherapy, and still sounds heavenly amazing a true legend dio is an eternal treasure ❤
Ronnie was just a couple years shy of 70! He devoted his whole life to the fans and his music. I cant imagine anyone every leaving a more proud legacy behind. Wow what a class act he was. Dio you are an inspiration to us all.
i felt quite sorry for heaven and hell when i was at sonisphere cus it was raining meaning that there weren't as many people there and people weren't going as crazy as they could do. but as you can see here it still didn't stop them performing awesomely
RIP Ronnie, saw you in the 80s. Good times, man! Your last album is one of the best albums in years. Will miss... \m/
Amazing that he only had a year to live- you would never know it.
Amazing how this old guys have so much energy.
They are kicking ass, Dio was 67 years old here if I'm not mistaken.
R.I.P.
His fire is dead now. But we will light it up everytime we listen to him, and when we play his songs.
_|m|
This is a "Stairway to Heaven" type song. One of the greatest songs written...
More like Stairway to Hell. 😉
yes i get what you're trying to say. it's epic. it's like metallica's fade to black, megadeth's in my darkest hour, dio's very own don't talk to strangers

Amazing band, amazing song... get well Ronnie, your right place is in the middle of the stage!
Sad loss Ronnie was, soundtrack to my youth those great albums. Sounds fucking great here, rip my man. Hope you are still rocking somewhere.

''let me go,i found religion, but the lifght has left me blind" !Fantastic song By Dio! R.ip God of Metal!
The world is not the same without good old Ronnie...
one year later, and still just those two dislikes
God bless you, Ronnie!
Weird that he remember is one of the last shows Freddie did, this must beone of his last show? There won't be another like him, a true legend and a really nice guy. RIP Dio
Its been years since Dio died. Even in his dying days, hes such a powerful vocalist till the end.
Still listening to you ronnie and tony
magnificent
Ronnie mentions Queen quite often. Definitely a fan 🤘
Peace and Love!
Fucking great Sabbath song. This could easily be on HEAVEN and HELL or MOB RULES...Classic
The best ever . ❤ u Ronnie
Heaven And Hell and this song they're always on my mind. Dio is alive
