    The final scene is absolutely devastating. Derek got his brother into that life and that got him killed, and now the black kid that shot danny just put himself into the cycle of hatred and violence too

      @@920WASHBURN I think the point was a bit more complicated. The black kid already knew who Danny and Derek were from the time of the basketball court. It is very probable that the black kid was related somehow to Derek's victims. Remember that Derek only did 3 years because Danny lied about it. The cycle of hatred is there already. Once the seeds are planted, the only fruit that grows is misery.

    Thank you. Thank you, as representatives of one of the many (still) under-represented cultures in the US for watching/reacting to this. And I'm sure you'll get some comments like "this was over-dramatized" or "this never happens". And yes, I'd like to believe that social/racial equality in my country has gotten better...and I do believe that it has. But this is not out of the ordinary. Hate thrives in the USA. And it's still fed by extremists who think they've found love by embracing hate. But we'll get there. One day at a time.
    Love you guys.

    I'm so glad that you watched this movie and I want to explain a part of it so you may fully understand. Danny is killed by the kid in the end because edward norton killed the kids brother. The movie put enough subtle hints in it for you to figure that out. The guy that got curbstomped was the brother of the one who got smoke blown in his face. The first interaction in the bathroom is why he figures that out and kills him later. If you remember halfway thru the movie the one guy asks the kid "Is that him" to which he replies "Yea thats him". Well that one guy is the getaway driver in the seen when he got curbstomped. Then when the kid shows up to shoot danny, He is obviously FURIOUS, having just figured out that Dannys brother killed his brother.

Sad to see that people really are like this, but it was good to see the change, unfortunately it was too late for Danny. 6:16 - Just to explain the American dynamic... the bell didn't mean anything except that the bully had an excuse to save face and not continue the confrontation. That's the very basics so understand there is much more to it than that.... but that is a general rule of thumb given the scenario.

    • @jacktupp4358
      @jacktupp4358 Рік тому

      There are classes of students, generally.. or at least when I went to high school. Amongst those classes were subsets... sometimes dynamic across sets. Me, for example, was a fighter so I never really had to fight because everyone knew I would fight back. So the bullies would pick on the kids that wouldn't fight back. Sometimes people would latch on to others so they wouldn't have to fight since the person they latched on to was a fighter. It can be complicated, and maybe it's the same in your home nation... but a lot of what you see in these high school scenes is posturing.

    As an American I am glad this movie exists for many reasons. For international audiences, it shows a very ugly side of America, but also a side we cannot pretend doesn't exist This movie shows that we know who we are, we know the ugliness we have within us but also that we want to change, we are trying to change, and little bit by little bit...two steps forward, one step back, we are changing for the better. The movie itself has a message of perpetual hate feeding on itself perpetually...and how difficult it is to break the cycle. That it can be done...but there will be pain and a high cost no matter what.
    We acknowledge this, there are more of us that want an America that is kind and fair to all people...there is just a lot of confusion sometimes, we are a people who like to argue, there are a few of us that like to manipulate others out of greed, a lust for power, or just because they are hateful. Then there is the weight of American history itself which we are all aware we carry, no matter how we deal with it.
    It's been slow going. Frustratingly slow for so many. But whether it is mile by mile or inch by inch...our progress is still going forward.
    Best Regards!

U can't come back from that's why u gutta remember sometimes when u start with hate hate will follow you and nobody wins a war always somebody dies and then people will remember so best to not war but anyway ✌n blessings 💚

    Derreck wasn't raped because he became friends with the laundry guy. Derreck saw that the other nazis were hypocrites who didn't believe in the white power rhetoric the way he did. They were doing deals outside their race to get drugs, and Neo-Nazi believers don't like when white people do drugs because it makes them weak and dependant. He decided to abandon them, Ignoring them and sitting alone in the dining hall he made a statement that he didn't need them, so they wanted to show him how weak and unprotected he was without them, and to make an example out of him so that he either came crawling back or was killed by the other gangs since nobody protected him. Him putting aside the things he had learned and making a friend in the laundry room was what saved his life.

    I know this movie is yucky. If you like scary things but you like a good story and drama, you will absolutely love American horror story.
    I am certain I’m not the first person to suggest American horror story series. It is a series that you could select any season by description that appeals to you, you can start on season three you can start on season whatever. None of the seasons connect, except for one. And even that season of the series, if you have never seen another season, it is still fine to watch not knowing anything it is still enjoyable.

      @@jons.105 why does it matter? I would watch all the American movies I could get my hands on, especially those which were critically praised. You are speaking from a perspective of already knowing this movie, and of knowing how it fits within our cinematic landscape as a whole, but they don't have those particular considerations in mind. If you want to have control over a reaction channel, then make one yourself, but all you're doing here is coming off pretentious and entitled...
