For apartment hunting tips in the future if you move around, it's really good to talk to any landlord's offices or ask for follow ups on anything new coming up or if there's any close relationships you have to broker's or anyone working with a landlord, use it! Connections matter more than anything! I asked a friend and I'm paying under $2k for something in the upper east right now and it's rent stabilized.
This is one of the cutest apartments I have seen so far in NYC. I like the exposed red brick walls. It looks so cozy. I like the older style apartments with the fire escape than the all glass window walls modern ones. They feel more homey.

I like that apartment BTW. I lived in a nice studio apartment here in Miami way back. I had it nicely furnished and decorated for sure. The best part of a studio is that you don't need a lot to furnish it. The down side is that you can't accumulate things because there is no room except for essentials. I had also made my own custom drawers with wheels that I rolled under the bed, The bed I raised it about 3 inches so I can fit the drawers under it. Although I did have my bikes mounted on the walls to save floor space. It was actually my last apartment before we bought our home.
love this so much, only thing is that overhead light, or “the big light!” Idk if it’s my neurodivergence but it always harshens or dampens the vibe. Ambient lighting, like various lamps, are an amazing fix, but are also an element that can come in time. love your apartment!!

Impressive ... responsible and mature 19 year old. Love the chair choice ... comfy for hours of reading all those college books/assignments. You'll be thankful. A little advice if keeping your airbed long term. (They are SO comfortable ... used one while renovating/renting an older home out of town. Perfect solution.) Place a sheet or thin blanket underneath to avoid tears underneath. Also, and more important .. deflate often/nightly ... to decrease stress on the fabric & stitching. Keep your repair kit in a known location (don't throw away). And, the repair kits alone are available from walmart if you loose or need an extra. Every airbed purchased was repaired (successfully) 3, 4, 5 times each. At least 3-4 air matresses in total over 10 years. With company ... when family visited. Learned the hard way ... keeping inflated all day 24/7 puts 16 EXTRA hours per day of unnecessary wear & tear; as opposed to only ~ 8 hours per day. Or, 2/3 use expectancy wasted. Be sure to let dry completely (several hours or overnight) if a repair/patch made. If inflation doesn't hold all night ... yiu have a tiny leak somewhere. Just follow instructions on repair kit after finding. Congrats on making your Dreams a reality. Stay safe and focused. Know your surroundings.

Absolutly adorable apartment! I think if you got a small square or rectanguler dining table you could fit it right underneath your TV without obscuring it. You might be abke to use an over the door hanger to hang a full length mirror on the back of one of your doors without damaging it. Looking forward to seeing how you decorate your new home. You can use the island as a bar to sit on to eat. I saw it opens up on the side. That is a good idea to save space. I also live in a veryyyy small at so any type of furniture that can fold or open up is great!

Such a CUTE first apartment!! Mine was a Studio and I DID have moments where I wanted a door for a separate sleeping space. Cash Jordan here on UA-cam has a Video from like a year ago of a girls apartment who's is the Studio version of your apartment. Almost Identical Kitchen. You should look at it and see what ideas for styling and storage you might get. Enjoy your FORST APRATMENT!!! SO EXCITING!!! Best of luck with everything. I think I may have to start following to see how things progress. Also LOVE those pink curtains in the Living room! Great pop of color for the space but not over powering. Also LOVE that you took them too the floor!!! GO YOU!!! WOO HOO!!
Geez, my daughter wanted to go to school in NY. I advised not to make that mistake and get her self into debt going to school in the city and an apartment to boot. She is currently in her 3rd at school in Maine studying audio engineering, living in a beautiful condo on campus. Going to this school is much less expensive than NYC and I am able to pay her entire tuition. Graduating with a clean slate, no debt. Then she can live her dream of working in NYC or Philly. Maine is beautiful
this is the type of apartment most people should be living in, in nyc. This has enough room and space for everything even for 2 people. this is perfect but rent is crazy there 😢
I moved out after high school graduation into my first apartment. It was $434/mo. Shared with two other dudes I knew from high school. We came from a backwater town to attend college in the city. It was so much fun. We survived on ramen and eggs, and didn’t even have a TV.
