Awesome mattress MyseIf.Furniture was a little sceptical about this at first, however turned out to be great.Have been using it for over a year now, no issues. I use it with a gel topper so not sure about whether it gets hot or not. Didn't have any smell or mildewCouldn't go wrong with this
Just got mine and based off my experience your review is pretty accurate. Bed is definitely on the firmer side which is how I like my beds not too soft. If you like your beds soft this may be borderline too firm for you especially if you’re a side sleeper. That was a good point about being over or under 150lbs. If you’re under 150 this may or may not be too firm for you depending on your preference. For someone over 150 I think there’s plenty of support.
Just ordered mine now. Twin with 2 free pillows and $125 off for Presidents' Day. $394. I hope it works well since I have scoliosis back and neck pain. Typical spring mattresses suck.
Chase, so happy to hear you are waking up pain-free! Thank you for choosing Nectar, and please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions! :-D
I am sure that he still loves it, Nectar has an unheard of lifetime warranty backing up the mattress, after completing an industry leading 365 night trial! You can't back up a mattress this way if it is not going to last a long long time.
Thanks Ross for all the great videos you put out. I ordered the Nectar last Saturday, not sure when it will ship but while I wait I have the Leesa in house and a luxury firm Aviya. The Leesa is ok but the Aviya is quite nice, best edge support of any mattress I can remember. Have you tried out the Aviya line yet? Curious as to your thoughts. Your about the same size as me so I take a closer look to your reviews than any of the others out there.
Yes! Finally, a bed review that talks about a lighter weight person's needs. Great review, thanks. Can you tell me a good bed for a 130-140 mostly back but also side sleeper with lumbar/back problems?
Hi there, generally you can sleep on it the first day. But it may expand a bit more over the next day. If you are somewhere cold it can take longer to expand.
I thank you for your reviews. I am 6' tall, 175lbs, rarely have lower back pain and sleep on my stomach. I am so confused over what queen size mattress to buy... Bear, Leesa, Ghostbed, Nectar, Amerisleep, Tuft & Needle, Purple and on and on. I prefer a firm bed that is not hot in any way. Can you please recommend a few mattresses that I will not feel stuck in? Thank You in advanced and Big Hug... Richard
That is a great value with the coupon! Kind of torn between the alexander nest and this one, I know they are totally different. Now I have a Serta and it's very lumpy, feels like I roll into a pit.
Hi thanks for watching! This really is a good mattress for the price! I was impressed with all of the Nest Bedding products we have reviewed as well. Let em know if you have any questions!
Hi Ross, my wife and I are looking to buy a king mattress. We are both 5'3 - 5'7, 100-150llbs. We have been looking at Tuft & Needle, Casper, Nectar, or maybe dropping more on an adjustable. What would you recommend overall for how the mattresses hold up over time, company warranty, and the overall comfort of the mattresses? We are looking to spend a grand or less preferably. Thanks!
I'm so torn as to which Queen mattress to get. My wife and I both weigh under 135 lbs and we tend to sleep on our back and side. My current mattress is an older pillow-top mattress and it's really now starting to hurt our backs and not getting a good night's sleep. I've looked at so many reviews, but this one seems to stick out more than others. My only concern is the firmness of it, though I do agree mattresses do "soften" overtime after they are broken in.
It has a firmness right when you lay down because it uses good foams, but then it conforms pretty great once you are laying there for a few seconds. We really are impressed with it, esp for the price. We are still sleeping on it until the next one shows up for review. You are close to Kaylas (my g/f's) weight and its been working well for her in all positions as well. Their trial is really long too, so that's a plus! The coupon on my page is going to change today but as long as its there it works. Thanks for watching!
Great review! You've made it even harder for me now.lol I'm torn between Nectar and Brooklyn Bedding. The thing I like about BB is that you can select a soft mattress. My wife loves the soft hotel bed feel, while I tend to gravitate towards the medium feel. I know it's a matter of preference, but do you get a luxurious feel when laying on the Nectar? I can imagine BB has that feel. We want that aaaahhhhhh feeling when laying on a bed. Your thoughts? Thank you.
Thanks first of all. SO initially BB used 4" of latex, giving it more of a bounce true latex feel and not so much body hug. Nectar to me using memory foam felt more luxurious. Now BB took their latex out which is most likely to save money since latex is expensive but I have not tried the new model yet but they claim its the same feel. So I'm sure they put in a synthetic latex alternative that's just cheaper. I know the feeling your talking about and just on a personal side, I think memory foam has that more than latex, although I like latex as well. Its tough! haha mattressinsiders.com/nectar-mattress-review/ mattressinsiders.com/brooklyn-bedding-mattress-review
Due to Nectar's patented construction and layering, you get the best of both worlds. The firmness that you need for those aching and tired muscles and joints so that you wake pain free in the mornings, while also getting just the right amount of cushiony softness so that you have the ultimate comfort to fall asleep fast, and stay asleep. It is truly a one of a kind mattress.
Qomfort or Nectar for firms and cool sleep? I currently have an 8 year old Kingsdown and I hate it. I am a side/stomach sleeper. TYIA for your great videos and help!
Hi John, in terms of quality Nectar has a far superior foam core and overall build and is not much higher in price. If you want to email me info@mattressinsiders. com I can elaborate. Thanks for the kind words!
Lito Ferg hi there! Thanks for watching. Ok so what firmness do you like? For your weight I would suggest if you buy the hybrid to maybe look at the luxury firm unless you want soft. The nectar or the Alexander will support your weight. If you want the medium-medium firm feel I think both will work well for you. Between the two I think temperature will be about the same. Hybrids sometimes sleep annoy cooler since they will circulate air a bit better than a foam core. Keep in mind most of these mattresses will end up the temp of your body eventually regardless of features since they are not air cooled or anything. Another deciding factor could be price, the nectar for a couple hundred less is a very good value and the warranty/trial are unheard of so you would have plenty of time to test it out. Let me know if I can answer any other questions or concerns. Thanks!
Do you have a recommendation for what base/platform/foundation to use with a Nectar mattress? Mine is arriving in a week and I'm trying to find a base for it ahead of time. I've heard that other mattresses require a certain kind of base with a certain distance between slats for it to properly support the mattress. Is that the same for the Nectar? I've heard of other warranties being voided because the slats in the base were too far apart, etc.
They are donated locally. Most companies you will line it up and you then provide them with a copy of the donation slip. Essentially so they can write it off for taxes.
Hi Ross, my wife and I finally received our Nectar about a month ago. It is our first memory foam bed, so still getting used to it. Our previous mattress was a top of the line Simmons Beautyrest double-pillowtop (thing was like 22" thick) and was amazing, but after 12 years it was toast. I'm a side sleeper with severe lower back problems (looking like surgery for me) and this bed has not helped me any. No fault to the bed, but I was sort of hoping for a miracle. Anyways, the Nectar is not as bouncy as I'd like and I think I'd prefer something a touch softer. Is there a topper or something I could add to the Nectar to get it more where I like? The support is quite good, so I don't want to give that up. Also, I miss having the thick mattress, so maybe adding a topper would help get me higher off the ground (easier to get in and out of bed).
Hi thanks for the update. SO they will tend to get softer as they are used for sure. But a topper can not hurt in the meantime to add softness and height. I hear you though, I have a bad back for how young I am but after so many mattresses and owning a store as well as aging I know there is not a miracle bed out there but some certainly help. It will take getting used to like any new bed but the pressure relief is good on it. I have not reviewed any toppers yet but they are prob a dime a dozen so I would suggest jumping on amazon and getting one there. You can get the softness and still maintain the good support nectars core offers.
I have been looking around at mattress for a while now and have always come back to the nectar website. I wanted some more information and found your review. I was really unsure of what mattress to choose from considering there are so many but I think you have solidified the one I will purchase. So thank you for that. I just have one question... How long did it take for the mattress to arrive at your house? I'd like to have it asap as I have been sleeping on the sofa for a lot longer than I'd like to and I am sure my husband is tried of sleeping on the floor. So I'd like to get it rather soon. I feel like I haven't slept well in ages. Thank you again for your review!
I got mine when they 1st launched so it was fast. There were experiencing some backorders but it looks like they are mostly caught up. Its says ship on or before May 7th. They have $125 off and free pillows now too. Click here to head over goo.gl/B5qd1Z Let me know if you have more questions. I think they are worth thewait. Its a solid mattress for the price.
Love the holy sox bruh! Are you from Canada (accent perception)? I am pretty sure that this sold me on Nectar. I appreciate you and will use your coupon.
Hi Ross! I weight about 290 lbs, 5'11". My wife is about 125 lbs, 4'11". We're both primarily side sleepers. Right now I just have a double pillow top mattress but am considering making the switch to memory foam. What is best for us? I'm mostly considering between Nectar, Purple and Ghost Bed, but we've also looked into a few niche mattresses like the cuddle mattress. Really we're open to anything that is well priced and that we'll be comfortable on.
Hi Casey, so between the 3 Nectar & Ghostbed I think are a better value and use better materials. Also those two have better warranties as well. Between Nectar and Ghostbed, I think it comes down to what type of feel you want. I would say Nectar is just a smidge softer & then it uses a quilted Gel memory top foam on top of memory foam. I personally like a quilt on top. Ghostbed uses latex over memory foam. SO you will have a bit of a different feel on each, the latex will give you a bit more bounce but neither will give you a bad stuck feeling. Nectar I think had better pressure relief with more memory foam. For your wife's weight (close to my g/f Kayla's) If she's anything like Kayla she likes more of a memory foam feel because she thinks being lighter she still gets a bit of a body hug conformance feel out of memory foam vs latex. So for us personally I believe I would be persuaded into the Nectar but it comes down to the feel you want. Both are a better value than many others out there. If you found this helpful please use our links on the site if you decide to try one. But also, keep questions coming in the meantime if you have them. Thanks I am yet to try the cuddle mattress, sorry.
Hi! I have an elderly Mom who really needs a new mattress. She sleeps on her side & back and might weigh about 100 lbs. do you think this mattress may work for her or do you have another recommendation? Thanks!!
Hey Ross, Definitely looking to get a Nectar for my wife and I and taking full advantage of that year long trial. I sleep on my back for the most part with some side sleeping and she sleeps on her side mostly. I definitely want to make sure she's comfortable. We went and tested out some this past weekend and she really liked a specific iComfort serta memory foam mattress on the medium-firm side. I understand some breaking in and wearing down will occur in the long run so I figured a Nectar would work great for us since its on the firmer side. Would you still recommend the Nectar mattress for us when compared to that icomfort serta? The only other question I had was, what do we put underneath this thing based off your recommendation? Can we use the old split box spring from our previous mattress or should we look into something different? Appreciate your time and reviews!
Hi there, I would say if you were looking at an icomfort model that was medium-medium firm Nectar should work great for you guys. I would stack it up to those for quality as well, they are built well. The foam core is one of the best, if not best of the mattresses I have reviewed so far. The trial period is great and the price for this thing vs what you're getting is very good as well. As far as the boxes go, if you look at them and they are not bowed out you should be fine, and I'm guessing they are not. Anything solid and flat is fine, platform with slats, box spring/foundation, they will all work. Grab my coupon if you decide to give it a go! Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
Nectar recommended bed types and bases are box springs, adjustable bases (not split style), divan bases, traditional frames, platform beds or even the floor.
I just ordered the Nectar mattress and thanks a lot for helping me choose the mattress. I have used the link from your website to login and I believe it would help you. Thanks a lot.
Hi there, Thanks for the videos , they have been a great help! We have narrowed it down to the Nectar or Ghost bed but have been interested in a Sleep number Bed for a while now cause I have Fibromyalgia and my comfort level changes from night to night. I just don't know if they are worth the money? I was just wondering what ur thoughts on the Sleep number Bed are? My hubby weighs 270 and is side and back sleeper and I'm 170 who sleeps on all side. we like a med to med firm mattress. Thank You so much!
13mbat hi there. So they are. I've. It I think way over priced. You pay big bucks and 3/4's of the bed is an air chamber. Have you looked at Luxi? That's changeable at home. Both nectar and Ghostbed are above average for build quality for the price in my opinion too! If you want to help support me use my link and coupon and you can too! Let me know if you have other questions on any other brands or anything at all. Thanks for watching and for the compliment :)
Hi there, Both are nice. The biggest thing for me coming from a guys who owns a store and wants to sell long lasting mattresses I feel that Nectar with a more dense foam core will last longer and the price is lower so its a good value. If you prefer something a bit softer Leesa will be softer for sure. Thanks for checking us out!
Thank you for responding, does this have more sinkage than the leesa? i just got my leesa last night and I am testing it out, although after my fist night i feel it firmer than i though, nice but not much sinkage, still getting used to it, feel more on top than in the matress, maybe needs to break in a bit, given I have slept on a spring pillow top (that sunk just recently)for 11 years that i loved. I am 125 pounds side sleeper only, I will keep testing the leesa, but overall is this more plush or have better contour? Since memory foam is on top? I will keep trying the leesa to see if i get a deeper hug, but wanted a second option just in case...thanks again!
No problem! So Nectar will have a firmer core but the memory foam certainly would give you more of a contouring hug feel than the Avena foam which has more of the consistency of latex which will give you that sleeping "on top" feeling compared to memory foam. Let us know how it goes :) Thanks!
Hey there, Thanks for the video and willingness to answer questions. So from what Ive seen and read in the review seems like Nectar would be best for me. It would be my first foam bed I sleeping on spring beds or air beds all my life. Question: Will getting this new nector bed help me with my insomnia? Have a hard time getting or staying asleep. I can't even take naps even when really tired day or night. So Im looking for a bed to help fix that, will being a sensative sleeper matter?
Hi David, Nectar is a very solid choice for many reasons but I cannot say whether or not it'll help with your insomnia. People are so different! The biggest thing that's helps me fall asleep faster is simply exercising. But as for the bed its hard to say what will work best for personally for that issue.
Real Mattress Reviews , so would that mean that as comfortable or best rated as a bed could be a sleeping cycle would he a whole other concept individual? This will be the first mattress I ever bought for myself. Are those bed commerical promising better sleep if you get their bed not actually the case?
If you have a bad saggy mattress almost any mattress will be an improvement but when it comes to marketing everyone says their bed is best. But you could have 2 beds next to each other that are the same quality and claim the same things and you may like one more than the other. I'll have people come in my store that want something soft and I show them the softest bed in here and they think its firm, then i'll get another person who thinks its way too soft. People are so different and everyones body will react differently on any given mattress. Most of the online brands will have a "medium" feel to appeal to the largest group of people and they understand they will have some returns. I rank nectar so high because the quality of foams, feel vs the price. It has better foams than many other brands and is $200-300 less than some of them.
It depends, if your insomnia comes from a racing mind, or worries, or anything like that, it would likely remain with Nectar. However if its a result of a mattress that is not providing needed support for your aching and tired joints and muscles, or enough cushiony comfort, then Nectar would definitely help.
I own a store too so I have had the luxury of swapping mattresses out when I feel like it. Lstely I have been reviewing all the time so we keep swapping them out. Before I was reviewing the last mattress I was sleeping on was a gel memory foam mattress from my store. Fairly similar to the Nectar acually but without the quilted top. Before that a Hybrid from my store, which I wanted to try since at the tie they were fairly new. The brands of my store models were Restonic and Englander.
Mattress Insiders awesome man. For side sleeping would you prefer the Nectar, ghostbed, or purple? Also do you have any firmer pillows you'd recommend for side sleepers? Thanks!
Hey Trey, thanks so much. SO of the 3 personally I would do the Nectar. I feel that the memory foam layer and hi core foams will conform better and have less pressure pushing back up than latex. To me purple just collapses and you're laying on collapsed rubber and poly foam, although many people seem to like them too. Some people could prefer something softer than all of these for side sleeping. Another good option to look at could be Layla, the soft side will be pretty soft, and you can flip it to the firmer side if you chose to. But all in all, Nectar is built extremely well for the price but starts a bit firmer. As far as pillows go, we reviewed and continued using the pillows from ilovemypillow link: bit.ly/2o2xSku I personally like the memory down pillow but the all foam ones would be a pit firmer. The contour is nice for side sleeping too. Let me know if you have other questions. Feel free to use our links if you choose to support us! Thanks for watching ;)
Hi Ross! I've been looking through all your videos and thanks for the great reviews but I am still undecided!! I wanted to go for the purple mattress but then realized it doesn't come in a full. SO now I am narrowed down (not really lol) to the Nectar, Ghost bed, Leesa or Helix. I suffer from back pain and am deff a side sleeper but also switch into back and love laying in bed reading, but stomach--rarely. I am about 215lbs in weight and have never had a memory foam just traditional spring. Any advice on which one to go with?? Thanks!
OK, thanks for watching. SO between the models you brought up. All of them work good in all 3 positions. Nectar & Ghosbed start firmer but will break in, which is good I think for your weight. They are thicker with more supportive/dense foam cores than Leesa or Helix, so that's where some of that firmness comes from. Helix is nice as well but I would stick to medium-medium firm for your weight since its a 10". Another thing that's good with the Nectar is the crazy warranty, forever. Of the 4 I think it is about the best value. If you're side only mostly you could want something a bit softer, in which case I would suggest Helix in that instance. They will soften over time though, just keep that in mind. Let me know if you have any additional questions. I am happy to help, feel free to grab a coupon from the site if you found everything helpful & want to support us!
Thanks Ross, I appreciate it! Just one last question- the alexander signature hybrid also caught my eye, thoughts on how that would work out vs lets say the nectar?
I was going to bring it up but I didn't want to make matter harder! All of the Nest products we have tested have been very nice for the money as well. They are a lot for the money when you consider they are 12-13" thick with 4" of comfort foams. The medium we tested was very good for side sleeping. Vs. Nectar it would most likely feel better right out of the box for side sleeping since its softer. If you were considering the luxury firm option I think it would feel similar to Nectar but just more money.
Mattress Insiders ok great I think I know which way I'm leaning and thanks for the coupons it'll be a great help, I'll let u know how it works out! thanks again!
Hi Ross, Thanks for the video. me and my husband are 5'9" and weigh 200 lbs each . do you recommend this mattress or Ghostbed? I am really sleep deprived and so confused. Thanks in advance
Hi there! So it kind of depends what feel you want. Both are close in firmness. Ghostbed uses latex on the top layer and gel memory foam under that. Nectar uses gel memory foam and memory foam. So ultimately you get a bit more bounce on the Ghostbed and a bit more body conformance with good pressure relief with the Nectar. Your weights are good for either option. I tend to like mattresses that use a quilt on top because I feel like it gives a more substantial feel, which would be on the Nectar. Both have above average foam cores too. Feel free to grab our coupon and use the link if you choose to give one a go & want to support us. Let me know if you have more questions.
I'm 5'11 and 215pnds I was really hooked on getting the purple mattress but I'm torn...I love how plush this looks Because me and my partner love soft mattresses and are getting really bad back pains...do u suggest this mattress or purple mattress or maybe another mattress that has a marshmallow effect...
Pat Fraijo neither are super soft. A couple softer options you could take a look at would be Layla, Leesa, nest bedding signature/hybrid in medium of soft. Brentwood home sierra is close to this price, build well and much softer. Take a look at that for sure! Let me know if you have some questions on any others
I bought the Ghost Bed and it's not a bad matress but I realised I prefer a memory foam feel where I sink into the bed. Latex is too bouncy, does the Nectar have more of a memory foam feel than the Ghostbed ? Thanks
Hi there, yes it does for sure. Both use a good foam core (better than most) but nectar will have 4" of memory foam so it has more body conformance, less bounce. Thanks for watching!!
Personally for the money I think Nectar is superior. It uses higher density premium foams and will have the highest density foam core which will generally mean its going to last longer. Right now they also have $125 off and pillows goo.gl/B5qd1Z Leesa is softer to start but I would bet on Nectar last longer. The pressure relief is very good as well and i like that it has the gel foam quilted into the cover, i personally like a quilt as it gives a little more of a luxury feel.
I bought the Quatro mattress on Amazon, and it didn't expand to its full 10" (only about 8.75" actually), so I was looking into buying this Nectar mattress. I did order it, but I'm just kinda concerned it's going to sleep hot. My boyfriend sleeps quite hot at times, and I read some reviews saying this mattress slept hot, and it also started to break down or get too soft on some sides of it after a few months. Any knowledge or experience you have to offer on that? I really want to know if I should just cancel my order and stick with the Quatro (which is a bit too firm - probably because it was compressed for too long and would not decompress fully) or if I should really try out the Nectar.
Hi Victoria, personally it wasn't hot for me. Its a great mattress for the price. You will most likely be impressed with the quality compare to the Quatro mattress. A cooling mattress protector sometimes helps with heat as well if you find it warm. I would give it a shot. Thanks for watching!
Hey Ross HELP!!!! I am going crazy with all the options!!! I am 6'2' 340 with a bad back. I was looking at the Nectar, Ghostbed and Bear. What would you recommend? My wife is 5'6 and about 140. She needs to get some sleep as well!!!
Hi there, so of those I feel like Nectar and Ghostbed are best. It will depend if you want the latex on top like ghostbed or not. Nectar has the best foam core and pressure relief. Its a really good price for how its made. If you use our link they have 125 off and free pillows until the 31st.
Hi! I've narrowed down the 3 beds I'm looking to get, the nest bedding love and sleep, nectar and the Dream foam ultimate dreams supreme, although you said this bed isn't your number one recommendation for a side sleeper this has to be one of the best quality beds for the price it seems I'm 5'9 160lbs side/stomach sleeper what do u recommend?thanks !
Hi there! It still conforms very well so I don't think you'll have issues side sleeping. They will also get softer as they break in, which I didn't have time to experience. Thanks so much for watching. Grab our coupon from the site if you want. Let know if you have any other questions.
awesome thanks for the tip, do you think the nectar would be the best choice of the 3? did you get that stuck feeling? i know the love and sleep is good at not doing that because of the energex foam but in terms of overall performance which would you choose?
Also, Nectar provides comfort and support for all sleeping positions, whether you sleep on your side, your back, or your stomach. Nectar’s contouring memory foam allows the mattress to adjust to your body position and relieve pressure points - no matter how you sleep.
the warranty does say it does NOT cover when the mattress loses it's firmness...which will happen in the 2-4 years... all memory foam will lose it's firmness and will get very uncomfortable.
I just ordered a queen Nectar mattress...it will be delivered early to mid-December. In a while, my sleeping quarters may change and I'll need a smaller custom sized mattress to fit the space. Can I cut the Nectar mattress to fit my next space, or will that destroy the mattress? Can you recommend a company that makes custom sized mattresses?
Cutting your Nectar is definitely not recommended. At this time we do not have custom sizing available, but it is an option that we are exploring for the future.
will this be a good option. my husband likes to sleep in the same spot causing a dip does this help against that or will they replace it over time? hes about 250 and im 290lbs.
SO in my experience foam mattresses are good with not getting body impressions, it'll get softer over time but it also helps to give them a spin every now and then so where most of your weight is is on a new spot of the mattress. In addition the Nectar uses a 2.2 density foam core, the average for many of the online brands is 1.8. So this mattress should be even better in that rea than most. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I have a simple question.. I have a hybrid mattress and I tend to be very hot and I hate it! Would much rather be on traditional spring mattress without any foam since being hot is my issue! I have only owned one hybrid mattress... Do you think this mattress can help with the my body in getting so hot when i Sleep?... in comparing like a traditional hotel innerspring mattress? and if you don't think it would... can you direct me to a mattress that you have experienced in being comfortable and doesn't allow your body to be hot when you sleep? Thank you so much in advance if you get a chance to answer my question I just absolutely HATE being hot at night and no mater what awesome and innovative "foam" is inside the mattress if it makes me hot its worthless to me. Thank you again!!!
Hi Ross, my hubby and I are 200+ each and need a new mattress. Both of us are side sleepers, like medium firmness (I think). Definitely do not want bottoming out. Really need good edge support on a queen as our kids sometimes invade the bed. Currently we have a Vera Wang European Pillow Top it felt like a cloud at first, now it has sagging spots, gives no support I wake up with aches and pains everyday. Mattress before that was super firm after 7 years there was no roll together but same thing woke up with aches and pains (lower back in particular). I was all ready to pull the trigger on a Purple Mattress until I watched your review on the Ghostbed and now I am torn between Ghostbed and Nectar Mattress, or do you have another recommendation?
Mrs Jones hi there! I'm on my phone so this will be shorter than normal but I wanted to respond asap. So for the weight I wouldn't recommend purple. It thinner and doesn't have a very dense foam core. Core is only 4" the other is a transition layer that's less dense with the purple grid on top. Ghostbed or nectar are a bit thicker and both have foam cores that will work better for your scenario. Nectar is actually more dense than Ghostbed. If you two want a bit more bounce Ghostbed's latex on top would be better. Nectar being memory foam will have more of a hug that memory foam provides. I liked both. It will depend on the feel you want on that top layer. Nectar and Ghostbed are impressive in the online space for quality vs price. Nectar does have a longer trial and warranty however. Let me know if you have any other specific questions, I'll be back and near a computer in a bit :)
Mattress Insiders Thanks Ross! I will look into the Ghost Beds latex on top. Going by the price point I will be happy if the mattress lasts 4 years. I might have to go to a store to a get a better feel for what I want. I just know I am not willing to spend a lot. Thanks for your quick response.
Hi Mrs Jones, SO between Ghostbed & Nectar. They are both use good foams and are 11" thick. Both are priced very well for what you're getting. So if you're experiencing aches and pains generally Memory foam will have the better pressure relief compared to latex. But ghostbed also uses memory foam under the latex. Between the two Nectar is going to have a bit more body hug and pressure relief and Ghostbed a little more bounce and less hug. SO it sort of comes down to the feel you prefer. Were there a few others you were considering? If you buy click our discount link and coupon, nectar has a better coupon currently but if you click our link they will still know we sent you :) I can give my opinion to help if you have some other questions on others too.
This is a new company and they do not have the infrastructure to make deliveries on time. They claim they ship in 24 hours and delivery is made is 2 - 3 business days, but it's just not true. There's been multiple complaints with the BBB on this issue. I'd suggest the more established Bed in a box companies like Casper or Saatva
Hello Ross, First off, you make some great reviews and thank you for that! I have been shopping for a new mattress for about a month now and need to pull the trigger. I have it down to 3 options, Ghostbed, Purple and Nectar. I am a very warm sleeper about 6'3 195lbs. I sleep mostly on my side and some on my back. I have back and neck pain and normally don't sleep very well. Whatever bed I choose, I will make sure to go through your site to give you credit! I like a few things about each but in the end just want to SLEEP!! haha I also don't want to pay extra money for some purple gel that is from space and a giant waste of money... Are you able to give me your recommendation? I appreciated any help/advice you would be willing to give. P.S. The Minnesota Twins shirt you wore in one of your reviews, is awesome!
Hi Eddie, much appreciated! Between those 3 if we look at longevity. I think the Nectar and Ghostbed will out last the Purple for sure. It uses a a much less dense foam core and just less thickness as well. People have reported it sleeps cool but in my experience basically any mattress will ultimately end up close to your body temp as they are not plugged in and air conditioned. The standard for cores is typically a 1.8 density, the Ghostbed uses a 2.0 and Nectar a 2.2, so they are both above average there which translates into lasting longer. Personally I didn't have any real heat problems on any of them. If you look at warranty and trial its goes #1 Nectar (365, Forever warranty), #2 Ghostbed (101, 20 years), #3 Purple (100, 10 years) As for your size and weight, you're pretty close to me except taller. I tend to sleep the same way. Both Nectar & Ghostbed start a little firmer right out of the box but I like that since they will get softer over time and not develop body impressions as easily. But they worked well for sleeping in all positions, esp if you mix it up. I really wasn't a fan of the Purple, people keep giving me crap about it thinking I am being biased, but I'm not, I would make more through someone buying one of those on Amazon. It was just a personal preference and I don't think it has as long of a lifespan & costs more. Between Ghostbed & Nectar I think it comes down to if you want a bit more bounce or more of a memory foam feel. Shoot me more questions if you have them! This warm weather has me thinking about Twins games! But the Wild are kicking butt too!
Hey Ross, thanks for the thoughtful reply! Everything you said makes sense. I could figure your impression on the Purple mattress from your video reviews and could tell you were not very impressed. That is what initially worried me about that mattress considering you are a professional in that field and would know. I was leaning a bit towards the Nectar mattress after watching this video and it seems I have made my decision. Thanks for the help with that! I believe for the value and being able to test it for a year is a great added incentive. I heard is really nice there, I am on vacation somewhere warm, typical of Minnesota to get freakishly warm in February when I leave there. Haha The Wild have a chance and the Twins will disappoint as usual (unfortunately), still love going to the games though. One more question for you.. It doesn't seem like Nectar sells pillows, like everyone else (Actually something that intrigued me about the company). They stick to one product and try to make that product the best. What pillows might you suggest to use that would stay cool? Would you advise on getting any type of cover for the bed or does it already have one? I couldn't get an answer from reading through their website a bit. Thanks again for your help and advice! Keep enjoying the warm weather in Minnesota, although it doesn't look like it will last too much longer (just in time for me to come back). :(
Great, I don't think you'll be disappointed. My discount link/code was screwy earlier but seems to be good now, if there's an issue let me know. I know, last year it was tough to watch the Twins games, I still like having it on the radio if i'm just hanging in the garage or something though! For pillows, one of my favorite is the easy breather by Nest, I have a bunch of reviews done on pillows but I am waiting for my new site to be made to put them up which is taking forever! I always recommend a mattress protector to keep them clean and protect the warranty. I sell SlumberCool in my store which is supposed to stay cooler. You can buy them on Amazon, sort of pricey on there but try typing in that if you want that one, or search cooling mattress protector, there are a few. It doesn't hurt to check Target or Walmart for pillows and protectors, sometimes they will have stuff cheap too. Ha! I know, by the weekend we'll be back to reality!
Thanks for the info on the cool sleeping additions. I am checking all of those out as I am writing this. Unfortunately Nectar is back ordered on King size beds for OVER A MONTH! I am not able to wait that long as I am moving into my new house in two weeks. Do you have any other ideas you think might be a good bed for such a warm sleeper, doesn't need a box spring and has good quality? The Ghost bed needs a box spring, right? I am all sorts of lost now... Haha. What about the Nest collection? They have a bed that is called the active x which sounds to be a really cool sleeper. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Eddie Ghostbed does not need a box any it's just that they offer one. He told me yesterday they would have a shipment on the 28th of this month but were saying mid march to be safe. I could call again and see if that's on track still. Ghostbed would be the closest in feel and quality for the prices. Nest products are all built very well too!
Do you have a permanent mattress at home or are you always trying something new? If you do have a permanent one, what's your personal choice for every day sleeping?
Hi there, as of the last 6 months of so we have been switching all the time. Before that I still sorta swapped stuff out sometimes since I own a store. But the last thing I slept on for an extended period was a 12" gel memory foam mattress from my store.
Thanks very much for the response. I've read some nightmares about Nectar's shipping. Have you experienced any issues dealing with their customer service folks?
So they definitely have been experiencing some growing pains. I spoke to someone over there today and they are getting the issues resolved. They have recently gotten more office space and part of that is supposed to be for ramping up the customer service as well. He stated they knew they had a good product but didn't expect such fast growth. Some of the bashing you're seeing has reportedly been some of the competition as well but I cannot say that is accurate or not but I wouldn't doubt it, it seems pretty cut throat. Hopefully as is resolved quickly b/c it really is a nice mattress, especially for the cost compared to some of the others out there.
My issue is that I'm on a short timeline and don't want to risk shipping/backorder limbo. Do you have a good recommendation for best value/availability? I'm tempted to just get a cheapo Zinus from Amazon for the short term. Prime shipping... :\ seems like a sort of junky bed though..
If you want shoot me an email info @ mattressinsiders. com and i'll send over some suggestions for you. Let me know kind of what you want as far as feel goes, weight etc.
Hi Ross I am 6ft and over 300 pounds and pretty much sleep on my side on the edge of the bed would the ghost bed be ok for that, also do you know what the ILD is for the foam core as we are comparing to the Nectar mattress. Thanks and keep up the great work.!
Both are above average for price. It will depend if you want more bounce and firmness Ghostbed has or a tad softer with more pressure relief. Ghostbeds core is a 2.0. Thanks so much for watching!
If you mean placing it on top of an old mattress and not on top of the boxspring...... Most cases the box springs are still good. But if you have a sagged out mattress your putting it on top of its probably not good since chances are the old mattress is not flat and solid like a foundation or boxspring.
i contacted Nectar by Webchat and they said that they'd return a bed if it goes down (slouched) 1.5 inches deep (with nothing on it). Do worn-out foam bed even go down that far? My current spring bed (15 years) goes down can be hard to sleep on but doesn't go down far as 1.5 inches (without me on it). Is that a reliable lifetime warranty ?
Yeah you will see sag like that often. Your mattress was most likely a quality mattress. I find that generally foam beds don't show big body impressions as often as coil mattresses. Most foam mattresses will get softer over time (helps to spin them once in a while) but you usually don't see big sag marks. Nectars core is better than most as well.
how does nectar compares with alex. signature series med firm and saatva? i've used both and have changed currently activex but with Cpap user sleeping on my back mostly neither of the beds are comfortable as cpap forces you to breath causing some midback pains. i'm usually back and side sleeper and my wife is same.
Is this firmer than the Serta iComfort f500 Blue? We went looking at mattresses locally today and that was the one we both preferred. Trying to find something comparable. I know the Leesa and Casper are softer but I love the warranty on this bed. Please advise.
Hi Zak, I am a store owner but I don't sell the "big box brands" I think they are over priced so I'm not sure how that icomfort feels. This has more premium foams than leesa or casper and is an inch thicker with a much better foam core. Its one of the best options in my opinion for quality, feel vs price.
So true, the big box mattresses are marked up several times between factory and sales floor. You definitely pay more and won't get a better mattress when you choose them.
My hubby weighs 270, I'm 170 and we like a med to med firm mattress. Thank You so much!
Hmmm, looks to soft/sinky, for me personally, well maybe it seemed that way because I noticed that sink look when you were sitting on the very edge but looked firm when you distributed your body weight across the mattress evenly.
Yeah I was sitting right on the side. This acually has a better foam core than most of the brands on the market. For me I thought the overall feel was medium to medium firm.
Ordered a nectar and they do not ship in 24 hours like they advertise. We have been waiting for over a week now and they are hard to get ahold of. The bed may be nice if/when you get it. Super disappointed with their service.
Im looking to get a new mattress in the next 30 days. I was initially leaning towards the purple but after looking at reviews, because Im at 325 I was going to go with the Ghost bed. Now I am torn between the ghost bed and the nectar. I had lower back issues due to a car wreck several years ago and I sleep hot. Which would you recommend?
Hi Dennis, between the two they will both support your weight easily. It probably comes down to the top foam layer. Ghostbed is latex and Nectar is Gel memory foam. Ultimately, in my opinion no matter what you're sleeping on the foam will end up close to your body temp after you're laying there for a while. In my experience I've always believed latex would dissipate heat better then memory foam. I didn't have problems with getting hot on either. I think once you are out of bed latex will cool faster but when you're still in bed there difference is probably hard to judge. Potentially Ghostbed might sleep a bit cooler but I would base your choice more on feel. The are both a medium-medium firm feel and Nectar has a true memory foam feel with more of a body hug feel where ghostbed is a touch springier with the latex being on top. You might find more pressure relief with the memory foam on top if that would help you back more too. Its a tough one! Feel free to grab out coupon and link off the website. I'm about to post a video on ghostbed's heat with my thermal camera. I'll do the same video with nectar but i might not get to it today, and you can get a better idea. I lay there for 20 minutes, get off and film after 3,5 10 and 20 minutes so you can see how fast the heat goes away.
Currently I have an 11 year old Serta Memory foam mattress and a 4 year old Simmons Beauty rest hybrid memory foam, latex, pocketed coil mattress, both of which cause me to wake up with severe back pain. Knowing this, would you recommend one over the other for the ghostbed vs Nectar? Also Ghostbed is offering 3 memory foam pillows with a queen mattress as well.
I start off on my side, but end up on my back always. I would say they are on the same medium to firm 6-7.5 scale. They are both comfortable to lay on awake, but i wake up in pain. The hybrid I could feel the coils in, so i switched back to the Serta.
Ok, interesting. I mean generally for back a firmer mattress is better. Feeling the coils is obviously not good and perhaps your foam mattress just wore badly and you're not getting enough lumbar support. Its hard to say what the magic solution would be. The Nectar might have better pressure relief without the latex layer on top. You have the trial with any of them so it can't hurt. The positives of nectar beyond price and comfort is the 365 trial and the forever warranty. You could also consider some of the brands that a changeable. Like Novosbed-maybe order the firm and if its too firm you can add the comfort kit. Layla - is dual sided (neither side is firm firm though) or Luxi where you have 3 in 1. Just throwing some others out there since you may not be 100% on what firmness works best for your body. If you choose any feel free to use my link & coupon if you want to support me. Let me know if I can answer anything else at all.
Great video. My wife and I are going crazy looking at beds. We've kind of narrowed it down to three. This one, the Leesa and the novosbed. We like a fairly soft, cool bed. I suffer from some lower back pain. I'm liking the novosbed for the comfort+ topper they'll give you. I'm 5'11 and around 180. My wife is 5'4 and around 140. We just want a well made comfortable, supportive mattress that will last a while. We're mainly back and side sleepers, I spent more time on my sides. Any opinions on the above mattresses, or any others you'd suggest would be awesome. Thanks for the vids. We're buying a king-size by the way. Oh and cool socks.
Thanks for watching! So of those 3 I like Nectar and Novosbed better than Leesa personally. They are thicker with more durable/supportive foam cores. The nectar is very solid for the price. Novosbed is unique in that you can add the comfort kit if you don't happen to like the first feel you get, so there's some added security there. Between the two its tough. If you're price minded Nectar is great. Another nice feature is the 365 trial and Forever Warranty, if you value that aspect too its. If you're on you side more than back the Novosbed Medium might work better. If you're on your back more perhaps the Nectar or Novosbed Firm. Sorry if I mad it harder!!! Let me know if you have additional questions and head over to my site if you want to use our coupons. Thanks!
Mattress Insiders. Thanks for the input. One more question. The comfort+ topper from novosbed is poly foam and not the memory foam in the mattress. Wouldn't this just compress really easy and not make a difference. Is that accurate about the topper being poly foam. What's your honest opinion on the topper. I think it would be easier buying a car or house than a mattress. Thanks again for your services.
haha, it is pretty crazy!! So many options. Yep it is as far as I could tell. Aerated which is good. It will sleep cool. Most mattresses still have poly layers in them, I wouldn't worry about the longevity. I would imagine if your topper wore out they would just send you a new one. Thank you! I'm here for more questions
Hi there, thanks for watching 1st of all. This mattress will certainly work for someone heavier. It is built well, with a good, dense foam core and quality comfort foams. If you prefer a memory foam feel it will work. It will also work great on an adjustable base. Let me know if you have any other questions at all.
Nectar recommended bed types and bases are box springs, adjustable bases (not split style), divan bases, traditional frames, platform beds or even the floor.
Well its been three nights on my new Nectar Mattress and here are my thoughts on the purchasing of a Queen bed with the sheet set. ORDER/DELIVERY:Ordered on the 9th and shipped on the 11th. FedEx first stated it would be delivered on the 13th but at 1800 tracking update changed it to the 16th...oh well. UNPACKING: It ways 85lbs and has no outside strap for moving it (Recommend they add one). Once unpacked it expanded immediately and to the stated 11ish inches. within 30 minutes the off-gassing started and its not a pleasant "new car" smell but a strong plasticy smell. Put the fan on it and opened a window and most of the odor was gone...still a slight smell but it could be the free pillows as well. COMFORT: The mattress is Super Firm (7/8 out of 10, if ten is cement). I have always favored a plush top and softness in a mattress and maybe that's why I have been consistently sore in the morning. At 5'9"/260 with arthritis in my shoulder sleep is often difficult. That has changed with this mattress as its both Firm and yet SOFT at the same time and I wake up refreshed versus the tired feeling of having woke up several times at nite tossing and turning as I have done in the past. VERDICT: I am happily impressed and if I hadn't gambled on this mattress I would still be tossing and turning and tired each morning and I still have a year left to see if this initial feeling changes...its a win-win for me.
I have just watched for the first time the sleep like baby commercial and wanted to say how much I liked it. There are far too many terrible commercials these days.
Hmm I am torn between this and the ghost bed. I am 5'8, 180 pounds. The Gf is about 125. She hates my current pillow top. She feels like she's sleeping in a hole and always falls into me. This is 2 years old btw. A sealy blue meadow pillow top. So which of those two would you recommend. I just want something that isn't going to imprint and sag over the next year. I've heard the Ghostbed can be a little 2 firm, which concerns me. Also, how is the nectar for sex? I know the ghost bed has more bounce. Thanks
Foam performs much better than innerspring for not getting that roll to the middle feeling so that's one plus. For your weights I think both could feel fairly similar as far as firmness goes, Nectar once you lay there to me seems to have better pressure relief as the memory foam reacts. I wouldn't worry about either sagging real fast at all though. You should find sex to be about the same, yes latex can provide a bit more bounce but its just the top layer, if you were looking at a solid latex mattress (core and all) it would have a ton more bounce but once you push through the top latex layer you have memory foam on there as well. Nectar a bit less bounce but you shouldn't see that affect you in my opinion.
Thanks for the quick reply. The Nectar queen is 695 after coupon and comes with 2 free nectar pillows. The Ghostbed is 795 but comes with 3 free ghostbed pillows ( or 50 off ). So you can see how its similar. The one major plus with the nectar is that you can finance it with monthly payments with no credit check at all. They just deduct out of your cc each month ( with a fee that adds one month payment, if you don't pay it all in full before 6 months ) So I see you have slept on both. They are both very similar. Just the difference of latex on top compared to the foam I believe. Different kinda feeling. In your opinion, if buying for your home and your personal bed, which would you end up getting based on your preferences?
Bob B so before we started reviewing all the time and switching mattresses I slept on a gel memory foam mattress from my store for my last mattress (I tend to change them up since I buy wholesale) but I tend to like the hug more. Kayla likes the gel memory foam more as well vs more is a sleeping on top feel that latex can provide
My buddy who is an electrician took the nectar when I was done and he says it's worked wonders for his back too. It's nice to hear that from someone I know as well.
Thats awesome. Is it true foam mattresses become harder in the winter when its colder? So, then what happens when you have the AC on in your room during the summer lol
nice video! I've been looking at a ton of online mattresses . I've been trying to find a bed that will last me longer than 4 years. I've bought traditional mattress from $600-$2000 and they never last. I'm a big guy at 6'4" 290lbs any suggestions. do u think this would hold up. I'm tired of buying beds and as u know manufactures make it very difficult to claim warranty. I typically just drag them to the curb and buy a new one . it's getting old...
Hi thank you! SO over the years I have found that foam mattresses like nectar especially with one of the better foam cores don't tend to get big body impressions like some coil mattresses can. Ive had one for 6 years and its flat as a board still, they will get softer of time but usually not get big divots in them. Nectar has good materials in it as well. A 2.2lb core where most online are 1.8.
Yes, their foams are CertiPur. None of them are really going to be "toxic" All will have a "new mattress" smell. Even the organic mattresses have a smell, natural latex actually smells stronger I thinkin most cases. Any new smell will go away within a day or two.
It has 4" of comfort foams so you should see good body conformance regardless of weight. For me it worked great on those positions and kayla liked it too and shes about the same weight. You shouldn't go much softer for when you're on your stomach or you can get a lower back arch and then lower back pain. Thanks so much for watching! Grab our coupon and link from the site if you decide to try it Otherwise shoot me more questions if you have them.
Hi there, it would come down to feel. The Leesa uses avena on top and will be softer on the top. The nectar has more memory foam and quilted gel memory foam on top. Nectar will also have a more dense foam core that generally means it would hold up longer. If you prefer a bit more bounce leesa might be better and if you like a memory foam feel and pressure relief memory foam offers, nectar might be better for you. Below is a link to my coupons, both are offering better discounts than normal for memorial day. mattressinsiders.com/memorial-day-sales
Hi Timmy, both have above standard foam cores. It will depend what type of feel you're looking to achieve. Nectar is a true memory foam feel with more body conformance and softness. Ghostbed will have more bounce since it uses latex on the top layer. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
Hi Timmy, for side sleeping the Nectar would be better in my opinion. It has more comfort foams and a bit softer feel so there will be less force pushing back up on your side and shoulder
no offense but nectar mattress it just a remake of the purple mattress but without a lot of the demonstration of how it cradles your pressure points. Do not hate on this comment because this is just my opinion.
I'm a side sleeper and I recently got a purple and it's not working for me. My shoulder goes numb or tingles so I'm returning it. So you say for side sleeper something softer, so what mattress would you suggest for me? Since I was thinking of trying this but sounds like I need something around a 7.5 to 8 in softness, or something not as firm as the nectar or purple. Thanks!
Hi Tiffany, generally your mattress if you are buying one that is a good quality will last longer. I find in my store that foam mattresses tend to not get body impressions as fast as say a soft pillowtop with coils. Nectar also has the best foam core of any mattress we have reviewed. A 2.2 density where the average is 1.8 and some even 1.5 so there is much more durability here than many brands.
Nectar comes out of China. That's why its hard for most of the other companies to have as good of foam and the low price. Some people won't like that fact but it is hard to beat for quality vs price.
Not true. We buy our high quality materials all over the world including domestically and internationally - the location changes based on the market price for the highest quality materials. Our Nectar mattress components are created overseas, but the design, implementation and final inspection are completed here in the USA.
Dont get nectar, the company is crap and people want you to buy for the referral bonus. your lucky to get the mattress in the same month you order it in (that is if you get it at all)
Some people will not want to, understandable. Bear in mind there are very few online with as good of foams for that price range. It truly is a nice bed for what you pay for it and better than several that are 300-400 more when you spec it out.
the device you typed that comment on probably had a lot of parts made in China along with a million other things you use and probably get value out of every day. You're going to take a hard stance on this bed though? lol
I agree with you on buying china products. I do my best not to buy China and if more people did maybe more Americans would have jobs just to start. The reviewer should have made everyone aware of where it was made.

I can’t take you that serious with your mismatching and holy socks. How do you do a mattress review with your shoes off knowing your socks look like that?!?! Smh 😑
I have a herniated disc. Mostly sleep on my side, but sometimes on my back as well. The Nectar has been great for me! Supportive but not too hard.
Thanks for watching. It has great pressure relief as well. I think you'll be happy with it.
Chase, so happy to hear you are waking up pain-free! Thank you for choosing Nectar, and please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions! :-D
I just got mine today and I love it! I'm 175 pounds and 6'1. Great video!
Alex Duarte great to hear! Thanks for checking us out! Def a solid mattress for the price!
curious as well if you still love it?
I am sure that he still loves it, Nectar has an unheard of lifetime warranty backing up the mattress, after completing an industry leading 365 night trial! You can't back up a mattress this way if it is not going to last a long long time.
How long did you allow yours to expand?
I need a new mattress and have been researching them a lot recently, this seems like it might be good at helping reduce my back pain
Hi - did you keep the Nectar?!
Yes! Finally, a bed review that talks about a lighter weight person's needs. Great review, thanks. Can you tell me a good bed for a 130-140 mostly back but also side sleeper with lumbar/back problems?
Heather Quaine check out Puffy Mattress
How long do you leave the Nectar matress expand before you can sleep on it? 24 hours? Thanks for your help! Great video
Richard
I just returned my Lull mattress (unopened) for this one. I cannot wait to try it out!
Karenga Anderson I think you will be impressed! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the detailed review. I just odered the Nectar mattress. Thanks again for what you do.
Sorry for the delay I was out of the office for the last week. Thanks for the kind words! I'm sure you'll love it!
I just ordered one I hope I like it. Me and my wife way in the 160s. What are the pillows like cuz we got those two free ones?
Saw really nice mem foam topper, would there be any value in adding that on top with nectar?
Hey, thanks so much!!
Thanks for checking us out!
Its tough! haha

Im 350+ and im trying to make a choice between this and the nest bedding alexander hybrid i sleep very hot btw thanks
Thanks!
Really good, informative, straight forward, genuine review. Thanks!
fodderville5 thanks for the kind words and for checking us out ;)
Do you have a recommendation for what base/platform/foundation to use with a Nectar mattress? Mine is arriving in a week and I'm trying to find a base for it ahead of time. I've heard that other mattresses require a certain kind of base with a certain distance between slats for it to properly support the mattress. Is that the same for the Nectar? I've heard of other warranties being voided because the slats in the base were too far apart, etc.
Good review! Btw, do you know what happens/what do they do with the returned mattresses?
They are donated locally. Most companies you will line it up and you then provide them with a copy of the donation slip. Essentially so they can write it off for taxes.
& Thanks for watching! :)
I enjoy the hotel bed feeling. I'm trying to compare the nectar and the sealy cocoon, which would you say is on the softer side?
I would say nectar will have a softer feel since it has more of premium comfort foams above the core.

The nectar pillows are so
Awesome!! I love them. I just wish they included a mattress cover like “ghostbed” does with its bundle.
i realize it is quite off topic but do anybody know of a good site to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Deacon Marlon Flixportal =)
@Yahir Davion Thank you, I signed up and it seems to work :) Appreciate it !
@Deacon Marlon glad I could help xD
Thanks
I am yet to try the cuddle mattress, sorry.
Thanks for the advice, Ross. I'll keep my eyes peeled for if you ever try the cuddle mattress. ;)
This could help you decide too. www.nectarsleep.com/compare
Hi! I have an elderly Mom who really needs a new mattress. She sleeps on her side & back and might weigh about 100 lbs. do you think this mattress may work for her or do you have another recommendation? Thanks!!
Hey Ross,
Definitely looking to get a Nectar for my wife and I and taking full advantage of that year long trial.
Just a heads up... I see a few different coupons showing for the Nectar and the ones on the actual review page didn't work for me.
MTRS100 was working. I just tried too and its not. Thanks for the heads up, i'll email them now!
Thanks for using the site! Hope you like your new mattress once it comes!
Thank you for choosing Nectar! I know you are loving it!
Real Mattress Reviews, I want to take a moment to thank you for your in depth reviews, and for your partnership with Nectar. Much appreciated!
Just got mine today! So excited!!
Hi - are you happy with it so far?
From what i read
In the comments you like this better than leesa, may i ask why? Is it the firmness? Or do you think this is better quality?
This is a good visual side by side comparison. www.nectarsleep.com/p/compare/leesa/
Hey Ross.. Could I ask what mattress you personally sleep on? Thanks for all your great reviews!
Lielani Lopez great! Let us all know how your experience is after a few weeks! Thanks
I like your reviews. You remind me of my nephew. Your socks aren't bad compared to mine.
Is the life-time warranty contingent on the customer buying the nectar foundation?
No.
I am stuck between leesa, purple and nectar. I am 6,3 205lbs and sleep on my side most of the time. Which one would you recommend ? Thanks
This should help Jeremy. www.nectarsleep.com/compare
I would also check this out. www.nectarsleep.com/compare
Hi! I've narrowed down the 3 beds I'm looking to get, the nest bedding love and sleep, nectar and the Dream foam ultimate dreams supreme, although you said this bed isn't your number one recommendation for a side sleeper this has to be one of the best quality beds for the price it seems
I'm 5'9 160lbs side/stomach sleeper what do u recommend?thanks !
Nectar’s patented layers, cooling woven cover and construction breathe better, support more evenly and provide a better sleep.
What's the average time it's taking you for them to open? Where do they want you to sleep for 72 hours?!!
Hi Ross,
my hubby and I are 200+ each and need a new mattress.
How would this compare to Puffy Mattress for someone who weighs around 145lbs? I mostly sleep on my back and side, kind of all over the place
Hi there, I feel that the nectar is built much better. Its thicker, has a better core in it and more memory foam. Its hard to beat for the price.
Hello Ross,
First off, you make some great reviews and thank you for that!
If you look at warranty and trial its goes #1 Nectar (365, Forever warranty),
#2 Ghostbed (101, 20 years), #3 Purple (100, 10 years) As for your size and weight, you're pretty close to me except taller.
Thanks so much for watching!
this may help. www.nectarsleep.com/p/compare/ghostbed/
would placing the nectar on top of the mattress affected performance? I have a king size mattress set. ie box, mattress then the nectar on top.
If you mean placing it on top of an old mattress and not on top of the boxspring...... Most cases the box springs are still good. But if you have a sagged out mattress your putting it on top of its probably not good since chances are the old mattress is not flat and solid like a foundation or boxspring.
did old nectar have transition layer...or is everything the same?
i contacted Nectar by Webchat and they said that they'd return a bed if it goes down (slouched) 1.5 inches deep (with nothing on it).
Can you recommend a good soft mattress that’s good for side sleeping for someone who around 150lbs?
Hi Corey here are some of our picks for side sleepers realmattressreviews.com/best-mattresses-side-sleepers/ thanks for using the site :)
Nectar is great for side sleepers, belly sleepers, back sleepers, or even those that like to mix it up!
how does nectar compares with alex. signature series med firm and saatva?
i've used both and have changed currently activex but with Cpap user sleeping on my back mostly neither of the beds are comfortable as cpap forces you to breath causing some midback pains. i'm usually back and side sleeper and my wife is same.
This should help. www.nectarsleep.com/p/compare/saatva/
My hubby weighs 270, I'm 170 and we like a med to med firm mattress. Thank You so much!
Hmmm, looks to soft/sinky, for me personally, well maybe it seemed that way because I noticed that sink look when you were sitting on the very edge but looked firm when you distributed your body weight across the mattress evenly.
Yeah I was sitting right on the side. This acually has a better foam core than most of the brands on the market. For me I thought the overall feel was medium to medium firm.
I'm home now waiting for mine I can't wait !!!!
Ordered a nectar and they do not ship in 24 hours like they advertise. We have been waiting for over a week now and they are hard to get ahold of. The bed may be nice if/when you get it. Super disappointed with their service.
Boo who
Thank you for sharing-good to know.
The site says 3-7 days, and the full warranty is 10 years not 5.
I bought a queen, no smell, good product
Got mine in 3-4 days too
Im looking to get a new mattress in the next 30 days.
Its tough to say since I haven't laid on yours. Would you say they are on the firmer or softer side? Also what position do you seep in most often?
Thanks!
Oh and yeah, I noticed the hole after lol
Will this matress work with an adjustable base? Is this a matress for heavier people?
They just deduct out of your cc each month ( with a fee that adds one month payment, if you don't pay it all in full before 6 months )
So I see you have slept on both.
Mattress Insiders awesome. thanks for the input ! much appreciated
Good review Ross.
Thank you! Thanks for checking us out.
Does the nector have a low VOC or free of toxic VOC?
Yes, their foams are CertiPur. None of them are really going to be "toxic" All will have a "new mattress" smell. Even the organic mattresses have a smell, natural latex actually smells stronger I thinkin most cases. Any new smell will go away within a day or two.
130 pounds, 50/50 side/stomach sleeper. Would this be too firm?
It has 4" of comfort foams so you should see good body conformance regardless of weight. For me it worked great on those positions and kayla liked it too and shes about the same weight. You shouldn't go much softer for when you're on your stomach or you can get a lower back arch and then lower back pain. Thanks so much for watching! Grab our coupon and link from the site if you decide to try it Otherwise shoot me more questions if you have them.
Thanks for the hasty reply! I've watched a ton of your videos and they are very informative. Keep up the great public service!
You're welcome, thank you for watching!
Do the purple matress
would you recommend the nectar over the leesa?
Hi there, it would come down to feel. The Leesa uses avena on top and will be softer on the top. The nectar has more memory foam and quilted gel memory foam on top. Nectar will also have a more dense foam core that generally means it would hold up longer. If you prefer a bit more bounce leesa might be better and if you like a memory foam feel and pressure relief memory foam offers, nectar might be better for you. Below is a link to my coupons, both are offering better discounts than normal for memorial day.

This should help. www.nectarsleep.com/p/compare/leesa/
Awesome review!
Thanks so much for the kind words.
Will this mattress work with an adjustable bed frame?
Alvin, thanks for watching, yes Nectar will work great on an adjustable base!
Great! Thanks for the response
An important note, NECTAR is great for adjustable frames, however it is not recommended for split level adjustable frames.
Hey Ross. Great choppers! Where did you get those teeth? I kid(not)...
Do you have a review between Ghostbed & Nectar ?
Hi Santa! I do not but if you want to email at info@ mattress insiders.com I can explain some differences. Thanks for checking us out!
this should help. www.nectarsleep.com/p/compare/ghostbed/
i m 6'0 450lbs which best nectar or ghostbed? help me pls thank you
Hi Timmy, both have above standard foam cores. It will depend what type of feel you're looking to achieve. Nectar is a true memory foam feel with more body conformance and softness. Ghostbed will have more bounce since it uses latex on the top layer. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have additional questions.
ok i only right side sleeper all time what in your opinion which ghostbed or nectar more better for side sleeper i like gel cool latex top..
Hi Timmy, for side sleeping the Nectar would be better in my opinion. It has more comfort foams and a bit softer feel so there will be less force pushing back up on your side and shoulder
thank you for help abt it i will order pick nectar next month... smile
Thanks for watching Timmy. Stay tuned next month for any active coupon deals too!
no offense but nectar mattress it just a remake of the purple mattress but without a lot of the demonstration of how it cradles your pressure points. Do not hate on this comment because this is just my opinion.
Thanks for watching. Purple is much different in that it uses a rubber grid. This is memory foam.
Thanks!
Stardreamer Studios you think the purple is too firm? I've heard it's on the softer side.
I wish I had a soft mattress as cold as ice.
While the warranty is great, most beds break down after the first year. So that's my concern. Thanks.
Real Mattress Reviews thank you! I used your link to purchase. Hope it helps you :).
Nectar is not your average mattress, and we back it up with a full 365 night trial, and a forever warranty.
Nectar Sleep yes, I just purchased one. Thanks!
Thank you for choosing Nectar! I hope you let us know how well you sleep!
I'm confused, is Nectar made in USA or China ?
Nectar comes out of China. That's why its hard for most of the other companies to have as good of foam and the low price. Some people won't like that fact but it is hard to beat for quality vs price.
Not true. We buy our high quality materials all over the world including domestically and internationally - the location changes based on the market price for the highest quality materials. Our Nectar mattress components are created overseas, but the design, implementation and final inspection are completed here in the USA.
Awesome and detailed review. You might want to move your feet before your camera guy tickles em lol
Thanks Kevin!
You're welcome. Or you could have em tickle ya feet lol
Dont get nectar, the company is crap and people want you to buy for the referral bonus. your lucky to get the mattress in the same month you order it in (that is if you get it at all)
I’m 400 pounds do you think I’m going to sink like the titanic in this bed?
David Bryant When is he going to answer??
Natalie12768 not worth his time I guess. I went and bought a serta mattress for the same cost as the nectar and I’m happy
Natalie12768 what type of Serta mattress did you get? I'm 215 pounds and enjoy a true firm mattress v that doesn't sag after 6 months.
Ive heard that Nectar Mattresses are made in China. I'm sure not going to buy anything from China when I can get just as good or better in the US.
We buy our high quality materials all over the world including domestically and internationally - the location changes based on the market price for the highest quality materials. Our Nectar mattress components are created overseas, but the design, implementation and final inspection are completed here in the USA.
So you off shore production to sell domestically or you're just reselling a chinese product, either way its not a good look.
he is lying up and down right now lol
I can’t take you that serious with your mismatching and holy socks. How do you do a mattress review with your shoes off knowing your socks look like that?!?! Smh 😑
