As a game designer (Not developer) I find PlayMaker extremely handy! I am able to put together very nice looking and functioning projects to demonstrate what I am trying to do. Then when the time comes, I can higher a coder to come optimize or just redo the scripts (most of which for my games aren't very complicated.
I made my first game yesterday :D sure it's crappy, but I downloaded Unity with NO experience at all, none. And in 12 hours I learned some c# basics and made my first game. Baby steps Some of these tools look interesting i'm gonna try them out thanks. I had a blast and wanna learn more.
Enviro has a Mobile Edition but I think the normal edition is more updated. assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/particles-effects/enviro-mobile-edition-70673
I believed that all these assets were free, Enviro is tremendously great, it has a cost, but I feel that the person who pays for that tool wins a lot of time
Paid assets are good since they allow the developer to maintain the asset and improve it, ... while being able to eat and not die. lol. Btw, I own Enviro, and as you said, it saves a huge amount of time, and it looks amazing.
I hope you guys aren't running low on your dough. One would think so looking at how actively asset store is being showed down our throats lately. I honestly don't want the engine to die.
Nope, we're doing great. In the past we have sort of under promoted the Asset Store so we've been catching up a bit. We'll have some non-AS focused content coming soon as well. - Matt S.
Hey there! You can find our learning material at unity.com/learn. There's an arrangement of learning tools here that should hopefully fit one of your needs to get up and running :)
hey there i am noob just started unity i want to know the best quality assets FREE One's not Paid Because i want to understand the total working of the software later i would like to go for paid versions (no low poly) only high textures pls let me know some names of the assets..thank you very much
Well, Unreal was originally made to be used by medium to large companies. These could not only pay like 100k Dollars for the licence but also afford a team of professionals for their next professional game: AI-programmers, graphic-programmers, 3D-modellers, character designers, sound designers, network specialists and many more. Unity on the other hand is mostly used by beginners, amateurs or (semi-) professional indie-developers. All of them do not have a huge budget. So to cover all of the aspects in a game you either have to learn all skills up to professional level - or use the skills of professionals and buy some of their work in the asset store. That being said, I have to add: - the assets introduced here are free of charge - you have to carefully look, wheather your asset of choice is really good or the work of another amateuer - do not use just assets all over your game, since it would look like a non-matching mosaic because none of these assets have been specifically made for your game (colors, atmosphere, style) and often they are not understood completly and used in a wrong or underhanded way. I am not sure how much Unity itself is participating at the profits at the assets store but most of the money should be made by licenses. If I remember correctly it is 120 per month and person, which for example sums up to 10k each year for a small company with 7 people using it.
My bad. I only checked the 2D / 3D game Kits. Only completly free-of-charge assets can really be called 'for beginners', as beginners usually do not know which asset they really need and what will be a waste of time and money. Seeing it from that side, I cannot recommend this video anymore at all. It will frustrate real beginners spending money again and again often without any benefit.
@@tachyoon1979 you get it wrong. Teaching people doesn't mean that people must cover all parts of game dev like a pro. It is just that people can study and understand how to do thing and games and get good start to have fun or develop skills by self. Buying pre-made assets and stuff does not teach anything about game making and right "thinking". It does not prepare people to coding, make 3d, 2d art, understand ai techniques, understand game physics etc. Unity could give a seeds and quide people to the right way.. And to the real game dev instead just make jigsaw puzzles with unity related assets.
Bolt is way better than playmaker. From my experience playmaker doesn't teach you anything past playmaker. Bolt instead is very close to what programming Is like.
Those are all amazing assets :) ! Great video Sam, top notch quality !

Very nice Vid and nice Assets.
We would love more of such Vids ! :)
Subbed unity chanel because of this video. Just amazing👀
Enviro is awesome
Can you give some examples of popular titles that were built using Playmaker instead of writing codes?
Hi! Some of them are Inside, Hollow Knight, Firewatch.. You can check this link for more info hutonggames.com/showcase.html
You don't develop full projects with that one I guess (albeit you can), it's more of a prototyping tool I think.
There are definitely full, popular games that have shipped using it. Hearthstone is one. - Matt S.
Thanks , I was finding for a good asset for clouds and enviornment

They are free right ?
Why is Unity videos mostly only involve things you can buy in the asset store, but Unreal Engines videos are all about how to do things yourself?
