They were both so very intelligent, handsome and talented and had an entire amount of talent, beyond belief, and were friends to the end! Donny is still loyal to Micheal's friendship, which NO one can understand today except for those of US who LOVED THEM BOTH FOR THEIR TALENT AND WONDERFUL SPIRIT!!!
Donny Osmond was such a cutie here as a teenager. He grew up to be such a handsome and talented man.

Donny just tweeted the link to this video. I had no idea that Helen Reddy was so close to the Osmond family back in these days. She talks about those times on the talk show Marie did for the Hallmark Channel. Helen still has that marvelous voice.

So was Donny. He was in clips at the age of 6 and a singing professional doing his own songs at 13-16. I think what humbled Donny too is that his 1980s were a downward spiral of non work after non work after non work. I do feel something changed Michael. I listen to Donny talk about how Michael lived in a different world and how Donny remembered him from this era.

@PensiveCzar I would say both George Osmond and Joe Jackson were strict, demanding and acted more as a manager than a father to their kids. But Joe took it to the next level. Some say Joe's fierce discipline was normal for that period, and Joe Jackson endured the same abuse as a kid himself.

"DeeJayRoyal" A lot of people back then would have said that this award show was hosted and overwhelmed with middle-of-the road singers such as Helen Reddy and fly-by-night teen idols like Michael Jackson and Donny Osmond. I was in my teens and knew some other teen guy in the class I attended who considered himself a Rock "n" Roll purist and he said that the Jackson 5 and The Osmonds were such dreck and also Helen Reddy and Three Dog Night and Ann Murray and Olivia Newton John and ABBA and Tom Jones and Neil Diamond and Gladys Knight and Stephanie MIlls and a whole bunch of others. He loved Kiss.

The Osmonds and the Jacksons almost mirror one another.
Both have 5 in the group,
Both added another brother later on to the group.
Both exploded when the younger one took over being Donny and Michael.
Both had sisters that were huge success's in their own right, being Marie and mostly Janet.
Both came out of the same generation.
Both sold out hugely world wide in sales.
In my opinion the Osmonds were more talented vocally and instrumentally than the Jacksons as a whole.
But .....................they didn't have Michael.
They were both of a family of 9 children,both, the 7th child and their mother's birthdays were on the same day.
For on the Jackson's were so much better the the Osmond's and worked a lot harder than them and also Michael Jackson became the King of Pop and what did Donny Osmond do become a BIG FAT NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!
