About this visit:
They arrived Duluth May 31, 2024 at 14:19, cruising by my video cameras at a speed of 5.2 kts, heading to Port Terminal with a cargo of Bagged Quartz Sand from Turkey! They arrived at Port Terminal dock 1 at 4:56. They unloaded all their cargo and finally departed the dock June 06 at 19:02, heading up river to the Hallett 8 dock to load Iron Ore Pellet Chips!
I do have their departure, will put a surprise view of them at Hallett 8 in that video...

Nice seeing the bags unloaded. Thanks Paul always enjoy these
Glad you enjoyed it, I figure we all get to see them come in and out of the Canal, we don't all get to see what they are doing at the dock.
The Heerengracht is a good looking vessel and very generous with her salutes! Nice...👍⚓📣
I agree! The Pilot used to be the Captain of the Burns Harbor, he would always treat us to a multitude of salutes when coming into Duluth or Superior! Brought me back to those days! What a fun arrival it was!
Making her presence heard . 😊😊
Oh yes!
Great vid love the radio traffic!
Thanks! I use it when possible, I like to hear the chatter as well!
I love those nice Dutch vessels and also interesting how the bags are being unloaded.
They are! I thought it was interesting as well, all connected by the "handles" on the bags. I was amused how the ship rocked when they move the crane.
She's good looking, coming in off the lake under that beautiful sky! She sure likes to lean on her horn. I got a kick out of the little Vista Star following her through the canal to sneak under the bridge before it comes down.
Get to see her sister Sunday
Muntgracht, coming in at 6PM-ish.
I delivered similar size bags of quartz to Port Terminal a couple of weeks ago, but they there unloaded from a 20' shipping container.
The pilot must like the sound of her horn.
He used to the the Captain on the Burns Harbor, he would always do that for us when arriving or departing the canals. He was back to showing us how much he appreciates us! 😁
Thanks , Paul! I thought maybe he was saluting the crowd, too. Happy 4th!🇺🇸
A nice ship and a very good salute. Thank you for this video
Glad you enjoyed it, I appreciate it!
It looked like a beautiful day there for ship and people watching. Nice crowd on the pier.
Thanks, Paul. 👍🏼
It was! Been such a rainy spring in Duluth, we have to appreciate the nice weather days!
@@PaulScinocca I’m reading this comment as we have a thunderstorm here in the Detroit area. Oh well, gotta fill the lakes somehow. 💦
@ronsamborski6230 indeed we do, Lake Superior is filled for sure, a dry winter, all maid up for in this wet Spring, summer
Love the salute. Looks like a beautiful day, thanks
It was! Thanks!
Do you have any updates on the status of the Michipicoten yet?
It appears they are fixing the structure failure points. i rumor I heard is out sailing by July 15 or so.
@@PaulScinocca That’s great news, thanks for the update!
@@PaulScinoccaSo, NOT getting retired?
Uffda.
@ecouturehandmades5166 as of now, it does not look like she's retiring
