I have the 2010. Wanted the TSX but I thought the ride was a bit rough. Dealership let me take a TL overnight - the hook was in. So much nicer drive and everything. Mine has the tech pkg which gave me nav, backup camera, and my most favorite thing, the hard drive. I can load a CD ( yes I'm old school) and it is stored on the hard drive. I just did the timing belt at 98,000 miles. Acura does have a nicer dealership experience - they gave me an RDX to drive as a loaner. The hook didn't work - I'm a sedan person. My husband has the 2012 with the advanced pkg which gave him the tech features plus heated/ventilated seats and the blind spot monitor. He has 111,000 miles and no timing belt replacement. We've been given "appraisals" from the dealership of $7000 for the 2010 and $7500 for the 2012 without the timing belt update, $9000 with it.

The Hard drive is great what a lot people don't know is CDs and Hard Drives will offer the best sound quality as well. Def a car worth keeping. Thanks again for sharing

I owned an Acura RL for 6 years. Bought new in 2006 and it was absolutely a blast to drive. The SH-AWD was first implemented on the RL and there is nothing like it in the market at the time. It was the best sedan I've even driven. I lost that RL in a not-at-fault accident a few years ago. The ACE body structure saved my life. I was seriously contemplating with getting a used '12-'14 TL with SH-AWD, but family needs ended up steering me in the SUV direction. It was great memory being an RL owner and I do want to go back to Acura in the future.

As a car enthusiast, I take my 2012 Acura TL FWD with Tech Package autocrossing sometimes and sometimes the car can actually put down some pretty decent times considering how it is a heavy front wheel drive vehicle. Currently I have a progress 22mm rear sway bar installed on the rear with a stiffer setting to induce oversteer. My next plan is to put on some Enkei PF05s and Bridgestone Potenza Re71Rs.

My next car will be a 2012-14 TL, probably the Tech or Advance package since the base doesn’t have a backup camera and that might be very helpful for such a big car. 280 HP is plenty of power for a car back in 2014. Definitely a healthy amount of power, since this one is the FWD version. And the fact that it is lighter than the SH-AWD version, it will definitely feel lighter on its feet. Sure you could go up to the SH-AWD TL with that 3.7L V6 with 305 HP, but 280 HP is a perfect amount of power for a car like this. Plus having 6 gears in the transmission means that it is a bit widely spaced, but it is responsive, and hunts for gears less. 6 speeds I feel are enough gears for a transmission. Honda and Acura just know how to make a fun driving car that is FWD, but then it doesn't really feel like FWD when you chuck it around corners. Great chassis and great driving experience, despite the fact that this car is basically a Honda Accord underneath, but Acura can just take a Honda vehicle and make it truly great for driving.
