Money does create more potential for happiness. When I was poorer in my 20s the stress of earning enough to pay the mortgage and bill payments as well as supporting a young family and providing the best for them contributed at times to being unhappy. Being financially comfortable and being able to provide a nice life for my family now makes me very happy.
Likely has a partner to share the mortgage, and got help from parents for an initial deposit. I mean 700k only gets you a 3 bed in zone 3-4 london these days! I would've guessed he made more based on what else he said though
The questions you should ask are 1. How much do you owe the bank? 2. How do you invest your money? 3. How do you spend your time? 1. A bank ‘owns’ your home until the mortgage is paid off. 2. A person can have a degree but work in a supermarket. 3. A person can earn a lot of money but if they spend their free time drinking, drug taking or gambling they won’t have much money left. They may have inherited money from parents, grandparents, be asset rich or be involved in crime.
All very good points. And another VERY pertinent one is do you have close friends and associates and a good relationship with your family. Because when money is involved and being made - the balance between that and maintaining relationships becomes just that - a balancing act.

Although I guess he could just he from historic wealth, inherited this painting and a few other bits, but is at that level where his general wealth has tapered off and just is an upper middle class person who had a normal job where he made plenty to live anyway so never needed to sell the painting
This whole video is bizarre. He earned 80k and owns a 10 million painting? Yeah right. And the woman who said her most expensive item is a laptop, that's just sad. And the guy saying his title and it goes on forever and then says I earn 28k. Wtf?
£750k house on £65k. Not even close to what you need. Not unless you had a big inheritance. A good clue is 4.5x salary, which would mean something like £165k salary.

It's a joke how we flex our salaries when after tax national insurance and pension contributions. It's more like half that, and then we pay VAT on almost everything. We buy. The house owners were very proud talking about the house value.

Blimey, you guessed 65k salary for someone with a 750k house 🤣
Thats what I thought!.....miles off
after tax, there's not really muh difference in wage between £65k and £200k.
Yeah only double the difference lol
My dad owns a 800k house with a 40k salary, perk of being a boomer.

Lady who said time is more important than money, absolutely agree.
She is not wrong if you know how to use your time wisely.
Bro really offended all actuaries by calling him an actuarist😂😂😂😂nobody knows what they do except themselves anyway.
If you have a painting worth 10m, you shouldn't be announcing that to a random on the street
i’m sure its insured :)
Especially in London
Yeah cause we all know where he exactly lives
Has a £10min painting and highest salary was £80k, doesn’t make sense.
inheritance, probably, old money bro@@MM-ev1fg
Youd be luckier interviewing pre schoolers
Absolutely agree with the lady there. Time is more important
Love this! ❤

Guesses £65k when the guy has £700k mortgage -_-
He said nothing about a mortgage.
@@nikolayivanov6373 £700k without mortgage would make it even less likely that £65k is close to correct

Good strategy, intentionally underestimate their income to make them comfortable to disclose
The boomers throwing it all out with relatively modest incomes but asset rich.
So what? They’ve got sense.

That would’ve been 80k about 20 years ago so well into six figures now, plus the painting could’ve been inherited.
