Just a general tip for anyone. Using the flaming sword counts an arte also. So if u can end the combo with the flaming sword and trigger the 2nd mytic arte. 2 reason this good. 1. You can actually use a flaming sword arte at the end of the overlimit and eventhough the overlimit status ends, you can still activate the overlimit. 2. U can release the charge flaming sword arte and get your Hp as low as possible. This is good bcoz since alphen has nodes that increase attack at near death. Your mystic arte will do more damage at the end of the combo. Since Alphens 2nd mystic arte have a decent combo to it. Every hit will 3 times more than damage, or more even.
There’s a new animation out now from the SAO collaboration. You can get it from the training grounds quest by two characters that stand out, mostly a guy in a black coat if you know what I mean.
Though I gotta say I hope they add more cameos with updates or even DLC because those are always the best fights in recent Tales of games that I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for a kick-ass fight.
It actually kills the challenge. Old Tales games have bosses where you get screwed over the moment a boss MA Cut-in 2D picture pops up. I find the lack of blocking too disturbing, this isn't the Tales way. MCs gotta stand there and take it like a MAN.
@@ShimanoGoro1 You have nothing to avoid, if you prevent them from activating it. It's better to feel that challenging pressure when ethe enemy is at half health or in Overdrive state rather than dodgable ongoing attack. Tales of Arise lore: “Only Renans can use astral artes.” Also Tales of Arise: “Let’s have Kisara’s best attack shoot a laser beam out of her shield.” Bruh
It's Tales series staple. Your characters' attacks may be incredibly flashy, but they're not magic, unless stated otherwise. Just in case, in Tales of Phantasia your objective for middle part of the game is to find magic users who alone can oppose Dhaos. Meanwhile, Cless, the protagonist, can literally, physically turn into phoenix through the power of swordsmanship. Yet it doesn't count as magic. Remakes toned down on it, but he still can conjure a flaming bird with his Rising Phoenix arte.
@@xellis8434 yeah i guess. The only tales of i think that made it logical is tales if symphonia when you equip lloyd an elemental stone and it chamges his rising falcon to rising phoenix when it's a garnet or lightning thrust if he has a sardonix equipped. For presea , i alwaus figured she was just so strong that the earth we see her doing is just her doing splash damage when she smashes the ground. Regal, though, might still be a mystery with his "healer" spell. Although it might just be ki related, not magic
@@ZelosSama yes, it's logical, but there's still this pesky inexplicable Demon Fang and its derivatives. No strength will allow you to shoot waves of energy out of your sword. Speaking of strength, Symphonia anime has a scene where Lloyd and co defeat seal guardian without their exspheres. That's definitely non-realistic feat. As of Regal, AFAIK it's not directly stated that he uses ki, but strongly implied so. His healing artes were borrowed from Farah from Tales of Eternia, and she DOES explicitly uses ki to do it. I personally prefer to think that every non-magical arte uses ki in some form.
@@xellis8434 yeah for the ki , i came up with the same conclusion. i would wager lloyd uses ki for his demon fang as well. as for the seal guardian, well , i dont take the anime as cannon anyway. it diverged a lot from the game . and i also don't remember the seal guardian part, been too long lol

The one thing I don´t like is that MAs are tied to OL. On the other hand we did get Boost Strikes and some of them like Flashing Fang, Burning Strike, Radiant Genesis and Extend Gate are even cooler than most MAs.

I'm glad this video exists, because I haven't been able to pull off a single 2nd tier Mystic Arte in all my hours with the game. Seriously, random Overdrive and having to pull off 5 different rates in a single combo is asinine. Every enemy I try it against avoids it because there's so little stagger in the game.
I noticed Indignation, but I thought it was awesome to see these two: 1.Law's second hi ougi is Tytree's Guren Tenshou from Tales of Rebirth 2.The woman with the mace and shield's second hi ougi is Loni Dunamis' version of Final Prayer from Tales of Destiny 2. Both of these are OG hi ougis, with the characters and games stated being the original character and game in which their appearance was made. Indignation is an OG hi ougi, but the original version would be Rebirth Crusader by Philia from Tales of Destiny. Now, the hi ougi I am surprised is it not in this game is Satsugeki Bukoken, which some of you may know as Final Fury. It is like Dragon Slash from the Grandia series in the fact that it has been in many games, but originated from Stahn Aileron from Tales of Destiny. Satsugeki Bukoken is like the bread and butter hi ougi of the series. I would have LOVED to see Zanku Tenshouken in this game. A hi ougi that also originated from Stahn Aileron in Tales of Destiny, but later used by Kyle Dunamis in Tales of Destiny 2. Now, if they managed to put in Shouou Zetsurenshou in this game, I would have done backflips.
so i figured out how to use Alfen's 2nd mystic arte, it doesn't really explain it very well but... so in order to activate it, you have to hit atleast 5 hits with your blazing sword artes, while holding the artes buttons down. for example: i use sword rain alpha - rending flash, dragon swarm - explosive ring, and hold the artes buttons down. if you do it correctly, then alphen will use blazing pillar instead of scarlet outburts. my understanding is it's meant too be two seperate FIRE SWORD artes, so as long as you're using two different ones it's fine, i just find that setting up rending flash into dragon swarm - explosive ring is one of the easiest ways to do it.

How do I achieve Rinwell's 2nd mystic arte? It's impossible to chain 5 magic to achieve the 5-combos condition for me. Her casting took too long for her OL duration.
I don't like that everything happens so quickly. Comparing them with those of Vesperia, for example, the truth is that I enjoyed more slower and longer mystic arts
Doing Kisara's Second Mystic Arte is so hard sometimes. I be doing the combos and everything and it just doesn't work. But when I connect like 12+ hits then it decides to work.
Indignation in other Tales, one person is enough to cast the powerful spell at high speed. Indignation in Arise, need 4 persons and a very long time to cast. Sorry pals, Rita and Jade won. But your spell still looks cool.😎

Yo what! We got Eizen and Edna back? Let's go!!! My two favorite characters from the last two Tales games.
Though I gotta say I hope they add more cameos with updates or even DLC because those are always the best fights in recent Tales of games that I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for a kick-ass fight.
@@georgethomas4567 Well....we are getting a dlc collab. But with Kirito and Asuna from SAO
We're back to the faster MAs and the enemy's MAs are actual dodgable attacks.
Finally.
It actually kills the challenge. Old Tales games have bosses where you get screwed over the moment a boss MA Cut-in 2D picture pops up. I find the lack of blocking too disturbing, this isn't the Tales way. MCs gotta stand there and take it like a MAN.
@@silkwind7618 you perfer having no way of avoiding a move and possibly getting one shot right there?
@@ShimanoGoro1 seems like it
@@ShimanoGoro1 You have nothing to avoid, if you prevent them from activating it. It's better to feel that challenging pressure when ethe enemy is at half health or in Overdrive state rather than dodgable ongoing attack. It feels like easy mode and it takes away that cinematic feel for the villain having his time retaliating from the damage you made.
@@zarthosbtw Not All enemy MA one shots, they leave you at 1 HP. That moment is where you brain makes a decision weather to continue backstepping or pull out the item menu. This game gives you IV frames cuz your healing has it's point count, it's rather annoying especially if your party member auto heals you even if have an regen ability that doesn't use Cure points.
Alphen: * does ballerina move * tRy HaRdEr.
Edna mystic arte is terrifying the first time you see it then you releize how easy it is to dodge
Vholran's mystic artes are so badass
It's taken from tales of eternia, you might need to look for it
Also cool one
Kisara is such a sexy badass
“I’ll take you all on”
When first heard that I lost my mind 🤘🏼🤩
platinumed the game but other than alphen and shionne... kisara, dohalim, and rinwell never pulled off their second mystic Arte lol. (I mained Law, so I saw crimson skies many many times) love them!
Law goes into overlimit so much. I found myself using Tenebrous like 5 times a battle
I mained Alphen. Besides him (since I'm in control), I've only seen Law's second Mystic Arte. The other AI wouldn't do them. I've only seen Dohalim's first MA (party member) *once.*
@@Jimmeeehhh ok, that's super sad about dohalim but almost believable if I think about it
Eizen and Edna. Now Thats a Cameo Battle😁🔥🔥.
Yeah that's awesome, but damn they brought Chronos back!
@@deathbykonami5487 they should put ludger as well if they put chronos in game
i'm sure at 0:54 cginferno not intended to show enemy MA but showing his skill at dodging
Not gonna lie but alpens fighting style is very baddass with his swordplay and movement looking 👌
Tales of Arise lore: “Only Renans can use astral artes.”
Also Tales of Arise: “Let’s have Kisara’s best attack shoot a laser beam out of her shield.”
Bruh
and law's dlc arte use lightning lol
Igniseri, Nereid is calling they wanted their Eternal Finality returned.
I like that it’s called Finis Aeternum…which is just Latin for Eternal Final(ity)
They turned Rock Mountain into a mystic arte?!
Now i kinda want to see Genis is a battle system like this, except ALL of his high tier spells are these Mystic Arte level cinematic masterpieces.
The one thing I don´t like is that MAs are tied to OL. As a mechanic I really don´t like OL and I was really happy when MAs were something you could just do without needing some semi random thing to happen to that character in Berseria. On the other hand we did get Boost Strikes and some of them like Flashing Fang, Burning Strike, Radiant Genesis and Extend Gate are even cooler than most MAs.
tectonic fusion just hits differently for me.
what about you guys?
I think we can all agree we've seen plenty of Law's mystic going off! I've lost count of how many times that fuccboi goes over limit after only taking two steps in a battle. Not even exaggerating lmao
Same.
Being able to dodge enemy MAs turns them into chumps.
If being able to dodge attacks from bosses turned them into chumps then the Dark Souls games would all be a breeze to complete.
@@mappybc6097 They are. That's why level 1 naked runs exist
@@xenoviaarchus6068 Assuming you really are capable of doing a lv1 naked run of any souls game then any of the tales games would be a cakewalk anyways.

@@xenoviaarchus6068 thats because there are exceptional players who could do that, 99.99% sure cant do that.

I 100%d the game and never even saw it LOL!
Same. 😭
Darn no combo/dual mystic artes with your teammates? i remember loving those in xilla 1/2, and berseria.
Ah Law, activated OL almost every 2 seconds in a fight. I love him

OMG! They gave Kisara Final Prayer/Player!!
Loni Dunamis, Genis Sage, and Mikleo approve of this!
Genis had it? Was it on the Tech side of artes? I usually went S side with him for Indignation
@@VentusFury On the wiki, it said he used it when equipped with a kodama.
@@deathbykonami5487 hm... I dont remember where to get that weapon, thanks for my next research
@@VentusFury It's the cross shaped weapon that looks like that old ball in the cup toy from '80s-'90s. I think you’re missing Subsumer’s Mystic Artes Black Hole, and the regular version of Finis Aeternam.

Feels weird how there are two different Shooting Star spells.
Kinda hope any coliseum battle vs cameo. Like in tales of abyss. It was crazy battle ngl
That battle was amazing lol.
Law mains, boy goes OL every 5 minutes. Thundery Tenebrous Claw is your life now... (Or Heavenly Crimson Blossom)
Not that I don't like the new mystic artes but I prefer the "old type" of mystic artes with the anime art of the character.
Same here, it feels like something is missing even though this new MAs are good
I see what they were trying to do with dodging the mystic Artes in real time but I also like the old style Mystic Artes way better. Miss that 2D cut in
Vergil : Slay all
Alphen : BURN ALL
Ganabelt casting Indignation made me understand what Dhaos feels
I'm glad this video exists, because I haven't been able to pull off a single 2nd tier Mystic Arte in all my hours with the game.
Seriously, random Overdrive and having to pull off 5 different rates in a single combo is asinine. Every enemy I try it against avoids it because there's so little stagger in the game.
1:34 Very curious how many people got wiped out in their first attempt. =D
God, that Finis Aeternam took me back.
Yep Tales of Eternia
@@c01onel You read my mind.
Even the name is the same, just latin. Eternia keeps getting the best nods game after game
I noticed Indignation, but I thought it was awesome to see these two:
1.Law's second hi ougi is Tytree's Guren Tenshou from Tales of Rebirth
2.The woman with the mace and shield's second hi ougi is Loni Dunamis' version of Final Prayer from Tales of Destiny 2.
They shoulda made Tytree and Loni the cameo battle!!!!! Two of my favorite characters of all time
@@ShofuthaBeatdown That would have been great! They need older cameos.
I miss those anime cut ins of mystic artes
Senkou Bappa! Tataki nomesu, mada nomesu, sarani nomesu, sorega… Final Player!!
so i figured out how to use Alfen's 2nd mystic arte, it doesn't really explain it very well but... so in order to activate it, you have to hit atleast 5 hits with your blazing sword artes, while holding the artes buttons down. for example: i use sword rain alpha - rending flash, dragon swarm - explosive ring, and hold the artes buttons down. if you do it correctly, then alphen will use blazing pillar instead of scarlet outburts.
my understanding is it's meant too be two seperate FIRE SWORD artes, so as long as you're using two different ones it's fine, i just find that setting up rending flash into dragon swarm - explosive ring is one of the easiest ways to do it.
This is wrong, it has to be 5 different artes, you don't have to use the Blazing Sword at all, just chain 5 different artes together.
Subsumer also has a Mystic Arte: Black Hole. Never really saw what it did tho.
Of course that boss would have one. Didn't even know cause I beat it so quick lmao. Thanks for letting me know
@@CGInferno No prob lol. I beat him super fast too so all I saw was the MA go off while I pounded him into dust lol. It must've been a charge type MA like Ganabelts Indignation.
How do I achieve Rinwell's 2nd mystic arte? It's impossible to chain 5 magic to achieve the 5-combos condition for me. Her casting took too long for her OL duration.
Use her attack artes instead of magic ones
Do one magic cast then do aerial combos
See I remember someone confirming the duel cameo fight was a different pair, not complaining tho I rather it be those two from berseria
well technically edna is in berseria but only as an illusion made by melchior since she was originally from zestiria
I love this game!
5:09 Eizen sounds like he’s said his line so much, he’s bored with it. 5:17
0:12 Excuse me, but why did you use the gun that covers her eyes? That's my favourite part about this Mystic Arte!
Didn’t even know everyone had a second mystic arte
I don't like that everything happens so quickly. Comparing them with those of Vesperia, for example, the truth is that I enjoyed more slower and longer mystic arts
Was kind of hoping that we would have kept Dohalim's Mystic from his fight it was cool and I feel like it would have been better than tectonic fission
Doing Kisara's Second Mystic Arte is so hard sometimes. I be doing the combos and everything and it just doesn't work. But when I connect like 12+ hits then it decides to work.
It’s not hit count; the second MAs require you to do a combo with 5+ artes in it, regardless of number of hits.
@@TheSpamus yeah I actually found that out a while ago. The wording was just kinda confusing me.
