I shoot public school music and theater for this exact reason - these kids work hard and parents aren't often able to get good media of them. I was a young musician and have little to show but memories. I pray that these kids will remember these times through my art. I am one of the few that I know that has been blessed to stay in this business (esp with 2020) and am thankful for it. Pay it forward - today's youth need everything they can get!
Thank you. The light may not be great, but the light is perfect. The photos are beautiful, and the light shows a grit and honesty about the skill level of these fighteres, and where these fights are taking place.
Yes, I have taken pictures of strangers in Thailand. Afterwards I have shown it to them and they were so surprised and happy to be able to have a moment in time preserved. 🙏🏻❤️🌞
This is awesome Fred. Well done. That pic really is something special. The glisten in his eye. His gentle face, but in a violent setting. It really captures the beauty of Muay Thai/ martial arts - whilst intrinsically attached to violence it instils in its practitioners kindness, and much more.
I took photos of a local hockey match and I definitely agree that I came home not really remembering what happened because I was so focused in taking great pictures!
Brilliant video and beautiful story and images. I’ve followed you for a long time and it’s wonderful to see your growth as a photographer and human being!❤
Such an amazing video man It’s very raw and good to watch You are showing us that photography is not about the latest gear or about the quality of the shots It’s about the moment and only the moment That second when you press the shutter It’s in that moment you froze the action in order to have it as a beautiful memory Thank you so much Please try to do more videos like this Greetings from Germany…
You Are Amazing!!! I'm so honored to have met you in Studio Z in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I"'m here to share my skill-set with you to work on any project. I'm so I'm pressed and I'm very grateful to have met you my friend.
I just ordered my first larger scale prints earlier today. Can't wait to see them. Being new to printing my work I would love to see more of your process and thoughts on it. Such an inspiring video, and that shot was amazing. Cheers!
Have you ever seen the photographs of John Bolloten? He shoots a lot of unlicensed bare knuckle pit fights in the north of England. All on a Fuji X-T1 with an XF18 f/2 lens and he's right up in the ring too. Really interesting work and well worth checking out.
Very good video. I agree that this sport is very hard to shoot, with very low light and very fast action. I have shot over 50 events of this sport and every event is a challenge.
Very nice video. I use to be a photographer specializing in equine photography & also an avid horse person all my life. As you said it is very important to understand the sport you are shooting to anticipate the shot.
Thanks for sharing how many images you take. I shoot sports like it's film, at most 3x burst mode if I'm feeling lazy. I couldn't deal with 2,000 files.
Mind sharing your focus setup? I noticed you're using face detect/eye detect. Does that work for sports, street? I can't bring myself to trust face detect autofocus unless I'm back button and focus-recomposing. Thank you!
I just updated my website with my portfolio and gear! trovatten.com/gear

Beautiful message, beautiful worldview brother!
These are the moments I think many photographers work and strive for. Thank you for sharing this.
OMG. The pictures are great. You beautifully captured the ambivalence between the brutality of combat and sporting fairness. 🤗

So freaking jealous! Id love to photograph a fight! Congrats on your new found love and your rejuvenation of your love to photography.

Thanks Kru. Yes, well put. It was a great moment coming home and seeing the photograph after the event.

I’ve never heard of him! Thank you! I’ll check him out immediately as I’m going to Thailand soon to document Muay Thai :)
@@FTrovatten I’m suddenly very jealous of your forthcoming adventure. That’s going to be a hell of a fun trip.

Great videos what settings did you use for the bw muay thai settings thanks

I just tested it in that preview. But I mostly do zone focusing for these type of events.
Which focal length did you used?
Inspiring
So, you like shooting your self-interview in Eterna… interesting… but not surprising…. Video color grading and editing I painfully timespending
put ``Muay Thai`` in the title and watch how your views go up.
I hear you. But I’m curious to grow photography interested folks. That said, I have a Muay Thai doc in the making that will have it in the title :)
