I bought a black widow the other day. Their support staff said no power commander required. The website itself says no modifications necessary so i dont think blockoff plates are needed. Kit comes with gaskets and sealant. Pretty sure this is the 300mm too. the 230mm sound much more buzzy.
@@mattm9087 Nice. After having it installed for over a month I can tell you the engine is popping like crazy. I did put in a power commander and it did not help. I think the plates will be needed. I've heard excessive popping will burn valves eventually.
@@CommentingTheTruth hmmm I haven't heard that before but you might be right. I will tell you tho that I put a cat back borla exhaust on my car (pretty well respected brand) and it pops and crackles but I actually like that. I talked with one of their sales reps on the phone and he assured me I need to do nothing else but bolt it on there. I dont know if motorcycles are different but I know my cars in no danger of anything from the pops and crackles. My brother's a mechanic and I got a bunch of mechanic/handy friends that would all say the same. Again no idea if bikes are different but I think your good man as long as the bikes not behaving abnormal
@@CommentingTheTruth my understanding is its just because the exhaust is less restrictive so more unburnt fuel has the chance to "detonate" down the pipes rather than be drowned out but baffles and cats mufflers ect. If its popping in the pipes should be no worries as long as the bike runs smooth and preforming fine
@@CommentingTheTruth I went to autozone and got rubber vacuum plugs and put those on instead of the block off plates and it worked great. I think they were 5 bucks
How to you fit the muffler under the swing arm so nicely? I have same year bike and pipe, but my can is super cloee to my swing arm? ):
I bolted everything up loosely to get it in the right position and then tightened everything down
Need a power commander and block off plates?? Is this the 230mm or the 300mm?
