Focus ST catless down pipe, resonator delete and stock muffler sound!

- The car has lots of turbo sound even with the stock muffler. I've put a Depo Racing catless dp and a full resonator delete on the car. I get no drone and its quiet when it needs to be and loud when it needs to be. Hope you all enjoy.
I like this even better than the other setups I've seen and heard. Thanks for posting, we're gonna do the exact thing to my nephews car when we get a chance
After watching this and a few other videos, I went with a catless downpipe and a resonator delete nearly a year ago and I don’t regret it a bit. It’s perfect for around town cruising, it pops a little bit on decel, and it sounds great when you get on it.

Not bad for that kind of mod! Mine has a catless downpipe and american thunder exhaust and has a nice deep loud tone when getting on it, not terrible loud at cruising speeds either.
This is what I'll be doing but I'm definitely going to swap out the tips
I thought about swapping them but I kinda like the tip when its polished up

i just did a resonator delete my next purchase will be a catless dp, i was looking at a awe track exhaust but think i wanna keep stock muffler for the sleeper look😏
I went with the DEPO racing downpipe if he still sells them and left the stock muffler I loved the sound because it didn’t drone and was quiet when you wanted it to be but loud when you got on it

Yes I used a defouler, but I also had it tuned out from Stratified
catless no check engine light???

@@tylerwallace5839 oh no! I traded my first one in for a Forester XT, but went back to another one because I missed driving it so much. Really hard to beat these for the price and how fun they are.

Sounds just like mine except I have the stock downpipe with muffler and resonator delete.
do you have a hardcut limiter? stock doesn't bounce like that in mine

Sounds loud as hell in the video. How would you compare it in person to the ricer Honda boys. I'm thinking about going same downpipe. I have resonator delete and stock muffler as well.
I wish it was a little deeper, but definitely not ricey. I'd almost compare it to a 4g63 sound but a little more high pitch. I think it sounds good. Pretty subdued when you're just cruising and louder when you get on it. I'll see if I can find my drive by video.

What tune do you need for this setup. I have the downpipe but before I instal it I need to get a tune I’m pretty sure.
I've been using Stratified since I bought the car and they have always been helpful. I have their E30 tune
Go with JST for your tunes on STs hands down the best.
Is this a 3 in downpipe? If so how did you get it to bolt up the the stock exhaust considering the stock exhaust is 2.5 in??
If I recall correctly the flanges match fine

Have you done anything else besides the decat and deres. Sounds like you you have some kind of launch control or Rev cut anti lag or something,
Ive got a deres and mine will Rev all the way round to redline both in gear and neutral, getting a decat soon and was wondering the above question?
Where did you purchase the exhaust?
The ehaxust was actually stock except for the downpipe and I deleted the resonator. The downpipe was from depo racing.
Can you remember where the hard cut was set to?
I wanna say it was around 3k, maybe 3.5k
@@tylerwallace5839 mines set to 3k out the box same set up as you decat, deres, stratified tune. But it doesn’t sound as good as this so I tried it around 3850/4000 still didn’t sound as good so will try 3500 then I’m gonna get stratified to set it at that. Did you try actually launching with it.
What else do you add to the car before you tune it.
That car had a Depo Racing intercooler, Depo catless DP, Depo cold air intake, resonator delete, Boomba bov w/ true vacuum port from the manifold, Green airfilter, eibach sport line lowering springs, and a Cobb accessport running stratified tunings E30 tune.
What material did you use on your res delete?
I don’t remember for sure but I think it just 2.5in pipe from a muffler shop. Wasn’t anything fancy

How does it sound inside the car?
Just cruising you can't tell anything is done. When you actually get on it, it sounds really good. Leaving the rear muffler really helps keep the drone out. I had a gti vr6 before the ST with a magnaflow cat back and that thing droned horribly. Catless with a res delete was the perfect choice in my opinion. Cheaper too

@turbocharger there is fiberglass packing in the rear muffler. There is in any muffler though unless it's just straight pipe obviously. I'm guessing that guy is just being a troll.
