You and your husband are so cute!! ❤ Adding the wood trim made a huge difference. If you added one more piece flat around the outside wall edge it would totally complete it!
What a dream! It's looking more like a properly cozy sewing space. I LOVE the green door. (I'm inspired, because 2025 might be the year that I turn my backyard shed into a sewing/craft studio.)
Its looking so lovely! I can see a lot of people saying you should add trim to the window sills, but i adore how you are leaning into the contrast between the old and new, and letting features of the rustic original space peek through. Trim will look too busy, and you'll never truly hide the fact that the walls are old concrete - so much better to make it a feature than a slap-dash attempt to hide it. It feels perfectly you and true to your style and i hope you're feeling exceptionally proud of what you've achieved 🎉
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I’m soo torn on this! So many people are team trim, but I do also love the contrast between the timber and the rough edge… Matt and I have been going back and forth on what to do for weeks 😂
@RoseryApparel I've been waiting so excitedly to see your beautiful finished sewing room! It's looking awesome! I think adding the trim around the outside of the windows will finish it off perfectly. You will still have the rustic feel from the walls themselves, it will just tidy it up and make the windows look finished and intentional. I would love to see a crafting related picture or two, ( especially your cross stitch from your last trip! It would look so lovely hung in your beautiful sewing room ). 0r maybe you could do a different cross stitch, like the houses you have lived in, including your new house? Just a thought. Either way you have done an awesome job, Janelle! Congratulations on finally finishing your special space. 🎉❤😍 . Xxxx
If you do a little tension rod curtain on the smaller square window pushed to the side, it would help disguise the weird part! Plus a good way to use a vintage tea towel or something 🥰
Consider paintable caulk between the timber frame & the concrete? Once filled & painted, it would completely hide the rough concrete edges. the caulk also provides additional insulation. That green is the perfect color for your space! 🎉
I loooove the green door! Gives the space a bit more warmth and character :) The studio is looking great! (also a little envious that summer is around the corner over there)
Looks so good! This is the fun part now haha A rug will really change the feeling too. Are you going to sew drapes for the space? The additional fabric will help with the echo. You could also sew a cushion cover for that little bench space under the small window. All the fabric! Edited to add: I'm on team add some trim to those windows. The same wood tone would work well and be easy.
Looking so good- can't wait to see the rug you've chosen. The green door is so perfect and you chose the perfect shade. The garden that you look out onto is so fabulous. Can't wait to see the finishing touches. Good job!
Eeeeeeeee - I've been waiting for the next installment of your sewing room renovation and this episode did not disappoint! I love the green door - you definitely chose the right shade. You've done such a great job and I'm looking forward to videos in your new studio! Well done!
So so so excited for youuuuuu! It’s looking like YOUR SPACE. It’s been fun watching this come to life. Can’t wait for the next installment!❤ fyi: we picked the same green! ❤
i cant tell you enough how much your new space makese happy...you are doing a great job...i never wouldve added the green but now cant stop thinking how great the colours are together..love the windows, esp the roughed edges there to exist. i see comments for trim but as long as you are not getting draft i love the contrast texture to the wood. look forward to the next. tfs:)
Oh my god Janelle that seeing space is looking amazing!! I kept saying I hope she goes with the bottom green and you did ☺️ and it’s perfect. I am really looking forward to seeing you finish off the room and start using it. You are doing an amazing job, just love it!!
I prefer the look of the timber only on the bottom sill of the window. The full rectangle seems like it’s missing crown molding or something to finish it off
Wow great job on those DIYs! The green door was a surprise, but it looks amazing! I hope you'll do a video of setting up all your equipment and furniture too!
I have to say, I liked the windows better without the frames, seemed to bring in a lot more light with the sunshine bouncing off the white concrete, and the broken chunks add so much character! But I'm glad you're happy with what you chose. Looove the green door!!
I’d add trim to those windows. Maybe simple boards that match the door frame design, and then paint them out similar to the door. Green inside and pink outside
Hi Janelle, I’m wondering if you thought about spraying on your paint color on the walls it might help hide a lot of of those imperfections that you see in the cinderblock walls…
Love it! Excited to see the end result. I was hoping to sew your Damson Madder pattern hack as my Christmas dress and I notice your bows are missing in today's video, was there something wrong with how they were stitched on? Thanks so much!
Dear ❤Your sewing room is beautiful👌❤Close the empty space above that clothes hanger❤It is difficult to clean when it is full of dust❤You have to improve day by day❤🙏🙏

You should add a small moulding around the front attached to the timber frame so those edges look even cleaner. I love your sewing room colors. 🥰❤
I was about to say that the window frames need some trim to really clean them off. That will make all the difference!
I thought the same!
100% the same ❤❤
Noo, I love the contrast of the clean frames and the rustic finish of the crumbly concrete. I adore how it looks purposeful, but old :-)
Agree ,that's what I thought she was going to do.They look unfinished to me as is
You and your husband are so cute!! ❤ Adding the wood trim made a huge difference. If you added one more piece flat around the outside wall edge it would totally complete it!
After you frame the windows you can caulk around the wood and it won’t look so crumbly! Great job on it!😊

Add a trim to the outside edge also. That will really give it a finished look.

Great idea.
Perfect!!
It is coming along so beautifully. Love the green you chose for the door. Many great creations are going to be made in this space. Well done! 🩷
I loooove the green door! Gives the space a bit more warmth and character :) The studio is looking great! (also a little envious that summer is around the corner over there)
That olive green paint is just perfect
I’m sooo in love with it!!
Absolutely love the green door. All the details look really nice! Very exciting
I could see little pink gingham curtains on the windows. Great video - I'm so excited for you!
When you painted the sample greens I was saying pick the bottom one! 😂 Looks great and can't wait to see the finished product!
I love how your "wavy" sweater matches the color scheme! 😊

Coming together so well! I'm on team trim and little gingham curtains. And a rug. Wish I could move down there for 3 months

Thank you!!
It’s looking beautiful and functional.
The green door is wonderful. Yay!

Thanks so much Pat! I’m soo happy with how it’s coming together 😍

looking sooooo dreamy, well done on your DIYs! :) instantly the dresses soften the space with a bitta soft texture :) love!

Loving the transformation. You are creating a beautiful and calm creative space 💕
What a lovely green for the door! ❤
Loving the space. It is wonderful and so you! Well done.
Love the door colour beautiful xx

Fun video! I love following your DIY sewing studio. ❤❤❤Paint samples cards are the best. I always find some when I clean my handbag out.
It's looking great....nearly there!😄
The window frames are so beautiful. What a clever addition. Also the green door is perfect 💕
Wow great job on those DIYs! The green door was a surprise, but it looks amazing! I hope you'll do a video of setting up all your equipment and furniture too!
Wow, its coming together really nicely Janelle. Your studio's colour palette is so relaxing. Great teamwork between you and Matt.❤❤
I look forward to the space being fully completed. Thank you for sharing.
Great looking room. Glad you have not gone all modern it is perfect 👏👏👏
The space is looking really nice and with magic. Congrats on the work on it.
It’s looking incredible…..my favourite however is the window sills. They just finish the space off so well.
Would the clothes rack being so near the window cause the fabrics to fade because of constant UV ray exposure?
So glad you’ve made a creative sewing place I’m jealous.😀. Merry Christmas from over the ditch in NZ.
It looks really beautiful. Well done you.
❤❤❤❤
Your sewing space looks great.
Love the window frames.
Your space is looking wonderful Janelle. I can't wait to see it all complete! 😀
I love the juxtaposition of the timber frames and rhe concrete edges 😍, also that green 💚💚💚
Beautiful job, love the green door💖!!
Love the addition of the green!
I have to say, I liked the windows better without the frames, seemed to bring in a lot more light with the sunshine bouncing off the white concrete, and the broken chunks add so much character! But I'm glad you're happy with what you chose. Looove the green door!!
the green door was definitely a good idea😍
I’m so glad you think so! 😍
What a beautiful space - love the colours
The space is really coming together, lovely work Janelle, tfs
Have you considered putting up architrave around the window to hide the gap?
I’d add trim to those windows. Maybe simple boards that match the door frame design, and then paint them out similar to the door. Green inside and pink outside
I think it would look really cute to paint corner round trim the same as the window frames and trim the wooden frame tying it all together.
Hi Janelle, I’m wondering if you thought about spraying on your paint color on the walls it might help hide a lot of of those imperfections that you see in the cinderblock walls…
Looking really good 🥳
I love the dress you're wearing at the end! 😍
Janelle I love your Gingham dress, what patterns is it? Thank you. ❤
Very nice, like everything you do😍
You’re too kind x
It’s looking beautiful ❤❤❤
Gorgeous! For your current sewing space in your house, what do you plan to do with that space once this sewing room is up and running?
Love it! Excited to see the end result. I was hoping to sew your Damson Madder pattern hack as my Christmas dress and I notice your bows are missing in today's video, was there something wrong with how they were stitched on? Thanks so much!
love the door
Add decorative molding/coving to hide the rough edges. There are many different sizes ❤️❤️❤️
I was thinking you’d go a pastel, sage or mint green. This green will blend nicely with your plants 🪴
It looks so beautiful! Did you see silver sagas new top pattern? I saw it and thought of you.
You absolutely nailed it with the door colour - stunning!
Dear ❤Your sewing room is beautiful👌❤Close the empty space above that clothes hanger❤It is difficult to clean when it is full of dust❤You have to improve day by day❤🙏🙏
Windows look great with the timber added! I was hoping it would be the colour Olive that you chose! It’s all coming together beautifully!
