I lived in Panama for almost two years and found the indigenous people to be some of the kindest and gentle folks I ever met. You two are wonderful souls for helping Enrique and his wife with their newborn baby. Proud to be a Patreon member helping out in any way that I can!

Dear Ginag - calling someone in the middle of the night, to drive you to the hospital to have a baby, and then telling them to go away - is USING that person as a taxi.
One day, I hope his mom and dad and her mom and dad come to the Farm and talk about going to the hospital that morning to meet their baby. They waited until the afternoon when their native american loved ones had left. Then they called their white "friends" to drive them back.
honestly, I hate any racism - I hate it when white people do it to ethnic people - and I hate it when people of color do it to white people - USING anyone is wrong. My heart really hurt to see them used as a taxi that night but not good enough to be IN the hospital. How disrespectful - that is NOT culture that is human behavior - anyone of any race can be a racist. I am so sad for them. They have such a big kind heart. That was not culture that was racism.
Ya know if y’all give Sadie a sibling, you can be present and experience that moment again.😁

I really appreciate the way Jordan talks about, and is sensitive to, cultural differences between where he came from and where they live now. It's a beautiful example to set for Sadie in her journey to become a truly global young lady.

As a Panamanian born and raised and currently leaving in the US, I want to thank you both for the kindness, caring and respect that you both show to all the people in Lola's Farm and your neighbors in Panama. Not just in this occasion but I've also watched as you offered to pay more for the coffee beans being grown by the native farmers in Panama. God bless you and you are the kind of expat family that can help Panama become a better country. My last point is, please do not call each other pendejos, it is not a very nice word to use on your husband or wife. Keep up the good work.
I understand what you mean it was a bit of a cultural mix we in the west can use cuss words as a term of endearment. I'm sure they meant no offence and won't do it again.
@@jgoo4572 yes, pendejo is a dirty word it does not mean sucker. I am so disgusted at the neighbors and the couple who called them to take them to the hospital and then told them to go away. RACISM is disgusting - I am so sorry for them, they are 2 really good people who deserve REAL friends. I do think Da Jungle Boy is a REAL friend - his actions show REAL friendship. Look at how someone treats you NOT what they say.

I disagree with the comment about pendejo. I am also Panamanian born and raised and it is really dependent on the connotation. It's like sometimes I call my husband a dummy or a dumbass, it is not meant as An insult.

My parents live in Boquete and I just returned to the U.S. last week after spending 2 weeks with them. I would frequently see the Ngabe indigenous people walking along the roads. I'm so glad to hear you understand how it's a different world there and you respect their culture and ways. Thanks to my mom, I found your channel! Love watching your adventures!

A new little person arriving really made the start to my day. Congratulations to the new family. 🎉🧸The roof vent you used is intended for a wall and is going to be a problem. Wind and horizontal rain will lift that flap and water will get in. That flex when it gets wet will disintegrate not to mention the soggy mess the ceiling drywall will become. Make your self a plastic goose neck and use a silicone flashing. If you don't there is going to be a lot work fixing the damage. That type of flex is only intended to be used for heat but gets used for kitchen & Bath exhaust all the time. I have spent hours ripped so much of that S**t out and replaced with aluminum. Lots of very nice shower tile in the garbage. You may as well just burn money in the pizza oven.

For Rodrigo's house and yours you should try to find a drywall lift, it is a metal stand with arms that extends to hole drywall against the ceiling 15' reach

You can make a homemade drywall stand with some two-by-fours. You can use that for leverage to push it up to the ceiling. You've probably seen them and can't get but of course a professional would be using a drywall jack

What a beautiful video. Your respect for their culture is amazing. I lived in Costa Rica for six years, originally a Bostonian, and I settled into their culture very easily, and the hardest part was watching how quickly US citizens made changes there. The changes I witnessed over a thirty year period saddened me. It's always best to respect other cultures when we are there. Unfortunately, the US has a bad reputation around the world for not being able to do that. Don't jump my shit, because I certainly don't mean ALL US citizens, but a large percentage.

Why not put the extractor fan on the top of the side wall? That's where we put our fan so we didn't have to have a pipe running up through our upstairs. It just vents out the top side of the wall in the bathroom. Works really well too. Plus no worries about roof leaks.

Oh congratulations on the newborn baby that is so wonderful for them. Funny you talk about the culture and how they keep the babies close to them in the cars. I am 62 this year and when I brought my daughter home when I was 21 we didn’t have car seats back then either I carried my newborn daughter home in my lap wrapped up against my chest keeping her safe….. maybe we’re not so different after all just different times….lol…. Yikes! In Boquete’s driving rain, that vent is going to let a ton of water in. I hope you will get a better vent, or reroute out the side of your structure. Once that Sheetrock is up, if you get a leak, you’ll end up with mold toxicity.

The bathroom looks amazing with the new door, and having the start of the ceiling put up, and I am totally in envy of your coffee bar and especially the yellow machine. (My absolute favorite color).
A good tool you can make for holding drywall on the ceiling is T from 2x4s. If you make the T just a tad longer than your ceiling height you can wedge it on the floor to hold the sheet.

My son is almost the exact same age as Sadie, and he also used to scream buddy murder anytime he was in the car too. Now, I never drive anywhere without making sure he has a snack to keep himself happy lol. Trying to drive safely with a crying baby is HARD, and mammas gotta do what a momma's gotta do.
