Thanks for the video. Reference the landing gear, the V3 is more military scale vs the V4. The V4 landing gear set up is for a typical civilian HU-1 helicopters. The Military scale landing gear is usually a lower profile.
Terrific video and a lovely day. Both Hueys look great together. If I had the V3 though, I would have to paint the skis black. I've got the Bell 206 Jet Ranger V3 on order.
As a Vietnam era Huey crew chief I love this I am an RC'er but this bird is a bit out of my budget range. A D or H model would be nice. Maybe 2.75 rocket pods or something as an add on. If it has any lifting power at all a hook would be fun for flying. Getting into position for a lift would be a challenge.
Thanks Steve I love these helicopter videos you do with Jedi Steve. It's great getting a Jedi's perspective on the aircraft coupled with your own knowledge. 😁👍
I always dreamed of flying a R/C Helicopter, but over my price range it's over a thousand Canadian. way to much for my budget. loved your video as always.

Great Review. Beautiful Helicopters. Steve you can't beat the Steve & Steve Rc Review. It's nice to show you the differences between these Helicopter. you can still just fit the others with parts. Maybe you have already read that a new one has crashed . I watched this video and zoomed in. His tail motor is running the wrong way. I think it's a factory mistake. actually defective. Wish you a lot of fun with the Helicopters Happy flying. 😃👍
Interesting… The tail prop comes pre installed so less chance of user error. There are UA-camrs that have placed the main blades on backwards & had an interesting tail biting flight.
Steve it may not be that his helicopter has a software error in the transmitters . because his tail motor also turned the wrong way. this can always happen. Has not been properly tested in the factory. Find it interesting. 🤔😃👍🍀🍀🍀🍀
@@Richard-3068 I had an older heli that did the same thing as his (but was saved by flying higher). The issue on that old one was was the GPS. Calibration on mine was affected by movement during initialization and me not checking that the GPS light was green prior to launch. I now check.
RC Sailors did a review of this. It lifted off about 5 feet up, then came right back down, crashed, flipped, and the magic smoke came out. 850 bucks in 20 seconds. Tail rotor was not happy on theirs. She just spun when he lifted off.
SOUNDS like you did not have in in auto mode but manual so you were not controlling the tail rotor properly so it spun out of control. Without properly controlling the tail rotor of a traditional helo IE. with the main rotor disc and a vertical rotor to control the torque of the main rotor you crash.
Unfortunately the Saylors are known by many for crashing RC products that others have no issue with. Most times it is pilot error or neglecting to do something important and other times it is just a bum product.
They are very popular so most distributors don't have them on hand ,this time of year. So shipping time is pretty long. Just letting everyone know. They are very cool and fun. Just be patient. If you need it quick, like for a gift for someone. Please make sure you pay close attention to the estimate delivery times.
Hello Captain, I'm flying until the flight battery has around 3.85v in each cell so as not to wear out the battery so much. This generates an autonomy of 10 minutes. What do you think?
You don’t have to worry about wearing out the battery as long as you don’t drop the voltage below 3.2 per cell. 3.8 means plenty of power remaining. Also different brands of batteries and different sizes will perform differently. You are safe at flying until 3.8, but you could go to 3.7 or 3.6 if desired.
I just purchased this huey my first ever rc,one question the lipo battery used do they need to be storage charged when not being used.Like i said im new to this and i want to make sure i do things right. Thanks
Storage voltage is around 3.7 to 3.8 volts per cell. If you don’t use the battery for months, then store it. If it is only a couple of weeks, it won’t have much effect if not stored… as long as the battery was not sucked dry before hand.
That would be very rare if not next to impossible to occur… unless of course you flew under something that blocks the signal. Then it still flys in stability mode but without GPS positioning.
Price is high because: - an RC Radio is include that you can use with any product in the RC hobby - Receiver included - Carbon fiber blades - The helicopter is made out of fiberglass with labor involved in the painting/graphics - high end brushless motor parts - Flight Controller that has years of programming behind it for safety - ESC to handle power spikes from both motors - Aluminium motor parts - Fast acting GPs - And Finally there is no competition… just like DJI, they own this portion of the market and can set the price.
How easy (or hard) are these to fly? Would they work as a beginner (first heli) I have a crawler and a road car so understand Rc basics etc....I know better to start with smaller but dont like the look of the smaller ones...thanks!
They fly identical to a DJI Drone in GPS mode, so in other words "your Grandma could fly this". Check out my vid tomorrow at noon hour.... I fly another model which is also great for beginners.
I’m surprised people keep asking that question. You see thousands upon thousands have this heli and fly without issue, however everyone focuses on the one guy who blew an ESC and then a pile of people living in their basement with no life pretended that they owned this expensive heli and they too had their ESC blow up. So to answer your question, I have three different Fly Wings Heli’s, all are version 3, and all continue to fly without issue.
Oh ok thank you❤❤ im gonna order one tomorrow thank you for uploading good videos and reviews..we beginners learn a lot from you..keep uploading videos..❤
I just got my v3. It flew ok. But as I was flying in gps after I got the solid green light, I was hovering and I moved the stick to to a slow climb it just shot straight up about 20 feet stopped and hovered .it wouldn't desend by the stick till I hit the home switch. When I inspected it the gps light was flashing green, not solid anymore. It did this twice . I put it away for the day. Why do you think it would do that? It's new to me . Oh also it seemed to have a lot of vibration shaking till it got to full rotor speed . I don't know if that's normal. Any advise id be greatful.
Rotor vibration is caused by improperly installed blades. You will want to check that as it could be the issue causing your heli to go in and out of RTH (shooting up 20 feet is RTH either by accidentally hitting the switch or vibration issue or connection/battery issue).
Thanks but it's not the blades. I'm positive they were installed correctly. Grey side up and snug , not tight ..same as all RC heli's It's something else. I'm sure.. Heli's are like that. Some come good and some come with problems.
I'll adjust the blades though . I trust your advise. Maybe I installed them alittle to tight . I'll try loosening them alittle. I'll update you. Thank you for the advice.

I just ordered one mode 2 with the extra 5000 battery. Supposed to be here by the 16th . I'm excited. I think it will be every bit worth the $. Thanks for the info. and review vids. They really helped me make my decision.

Hello Captain, is the radio transmitter already linked to the helicopter transmitter or do I have to bind it?
Already linked
Briliant as always can u swich from gps to manual in flight or do u have to select before take off
Yes you can switch as long as you are not close to the ground... because it drops a few feet when you switch if you are not expecting it.
What is the rightmost switch on the transmitter for?
The transmitter is generic and used for everything in the RC hobby so not all switches are assigned
Thanks for that appreciate the advise.
They are both awesome but the new one definitely looks a bit better
I wonder how easy/difficult it is to get replacement parts?
Flywing is one of the largest heli companies so should be easy
Hello Captain, does the radio switch in Home mode mean that the helicopter remains in GPS or switches to ATT?
Switches to GPS

That would be very rare if not next to impossible to occur… unless of course you flew under something that blocks the signal. Then it still flys in stability mode but without GPS positioning.
I agree with the pricing being a bit high. I would guess closer to $275 or $325
Price is high because:

- The helicopter is made out of fiberglass with labor involved in the painting/graphics
