- We install a rear view camera on my 2002 Jeep WJ Grand cherokee. The install is easy and as long as you have simple wiring knowledge you can wire this up no problem. When working with altering wiring on your car be careful with connection as you can cause shorts. Do this at your own risk.

I just did my backup camera install with an ATOTO F7 XE.
I took the hole in the trim above the license for the center screw and cut that area out into a nice big U-shaped hole that is perfectly aligned to the camera. It looks like it was always there.
For dealing the grommets, lube them with dish soap and they are much easier to deal with.
Since I was also doing the headliner (greytone camo sherpa!!), I ran my wires up the a-pillar. The dash trim is basically designed to break as 20-year old ABS is brittle and the clips are like concrete.
Heck yeah that is what I’m talking about! Better to be safe than sorry
Yea it’s nice to have!
installed a wireless unit in the back of the zj. Got the one smal red power cable through the rubber channel, without cutting, and did grounding cable on the rear door, - works fine.
I didn’t even know there is wireless cameras haha would make the job way easier!
So I'm assuming that the purple wire with black stripe is the reverse light wire
That’s what I’m thinking. The solid black is the ground. This is the power for the camera itself.
There will be two really long screws. They go by the wiper motor.
Aside from the two on the bottom, they are the same clips as the doors use. I found that out as I pulled that off after I replaced both of my mirrors.
Nice I will be doing this soon to my wj and sienna minivan.
Gotta get me a double din so I can do this!! Also, glad I’m not the only one that starts projects right before dark lmao
😂 yea we worked on other things earlier and was getting dark when we got to the Jeep haha
I'll be needing this too! Man, making all the good vids!
Haha thanks! I’ve been trying to bust out videos!
@@NajarOffroad I'm here for it!
Great!!!! It helps a lot. Thanks!!!
That’s awesome!
Great video! Helped out a lot with the new camera I'm installing on my jeep. One question: I need to connect the power wires to my reverse/backup light wires (like you did at 2:51) but I'm not sure which ones they are because there are so many. Any tips on how to select the right ones?
Great video
Thanks 🙏
Thanks for helpful video
One of these days I will get a camera and get this going, I already have a compatible radio. I say this every time I have to backup on the trail!
Thanks for sharing these videos. Got my stereo installed and now I’m onto the backup camera. The erapta kit doesn’t have any RCA adapters. What did you use to go from the 4-pin cable that’s supposed to go into the small monitor but instead will need to go to the stereo’s RCIN RCA port?
Did you have to add an extension on black and red power cable to reach tail light.
Looking like I’m gonna have to do this too. I think in the video where he has them T-tapped into the taillight power they are the yellow wires.
Nice!
I need help got the same jeep as you just wire the red to Violet and the black to a black wire
Hey unrelated question I just bought new halo headlights for my wj and I want to replace all the old bulbs I want some real bright led ones which ones should I get for all the bulbs? Thanks
Flyryde.com for the bottom row and Amazon for the actual low or high beam the brand I used isn’t being sold anymore
Thank you so much
So do 2 wires get connected to the ppl/blk reverse light?
I'm installing a backup camera in my WJ too. Just trying to understand it
It should be one to ground and one to the positive for the reverse light which if I remember correctly it’s the purple and black. Get some T Taps to make it easy to install
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Did u have to add wire to make it fit. I got the Atoto backup camera and there wasn’t enough length for the connections from the camera side. Not even close.
Yes I added the yellow wires
@@NajarOffroad appreciate it brother. I’m about to head out into town to find some. Love ur channel brother, currently adding shit to my WJ to make it look a lot better. Just added the A6 Pro yesterday as the S8 was sold out 😢
Well what’s the difference with the a6? If you have any questions installing it hit me up on Instagram @najaroffroad
@@NajarOffroad nothing too much. Looks like it doesn’t have CarPlay though 😢. BTW I just wired my back camera and it doesn’t work now. What type of wire did u use?
