2 very important things.
1. In the UN resolution, Pakistan is named as an aggressor and they have to fulfil the first condition for resolution which it hasn't for the last 70 years.
2. It has been mutually decided in various agreements between India and Pakistan that it's a bilateral matter between the 2 countries and no external power or country can intervene. So it's no longer an international matter. Whenever Pakistan raises the issue at UN or OIC etc, it's violating that agreement. 2ndly it keeps saying that there should be plebiscite as per the UN resolution but it never fulfils the first condition of the same resolution.
This proves that Pakistan itself doesn't want the matter to be resolved. Besides, Pak army gets a lot of funds in the name of Kashmir and it has been emotionally blackmailing the Pak public in the name of Kashmir and demanding respect. If the matter is resolved then both these items will be finished which will harm their interests.
Kashmir was independent.....
Yes It was but King Hari singh of Kashmir himself signed the instrument of accession of Kashmir to India. So even POK is a part of India legally.
Talking about elections, the UN document says Pakistan has to surrender POK to India to contest elections in Kashmir.
Lastly, Kashmir was never a part of Pakistan nor did Jinnah ask for it when Pakistan was created on 14 August 1947.
What's funny is Pakistan itself wasn't created by doing elections in India. So Pakistan asking for Kashmir elections in the UN is quite atupid tbh.

Jinnah was trying to get Hindu Majority Jodhpur to merge with Pakistan by giving Jodhpur King lot of incentives.
