They made this song to promote Japan for the Olympics. Whenever the Olympics do finally happen, this will be played during the opening or closing ceremony.

That was all it took.....I was hooked! Been a BABYMETAL fan ever since. The young lady with the twin tails has her own band now they're called Brats. Japan has a lot of great music!

Here a suggestion of great japanese band...."Galneryus - Angel of Salvation" the guitar solo of this music is phenomenal!!! Syu the guitarrist is a beast!!!
Imagine using this video as a tourism commercial. The two girls come into frame "Come to Nippon, where you can shop, eat lots of yummy food and check out all the beautiful sites." Then it hard cuts to Ladybeard growling in strobe lights "WE CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE YOU!"
- Just a bit more info : "Ladybeard" (the Australinan Wrestler dude screaming) has since left in 2016, and formed a similar group called "Deadlift Lolita", with a japanese female Body-builder Idol/Wrestler woman, called "Reika Saiki" (he was OK with the girls.. no problem with them.. manegment reasons forced him out). The two girls, "REI"(smaller one) and "RIE"(taller one) continued, but called themselves "The Idol Formerly Known as Ladybaby". In 2017, "Rei" left because she was forced to sing at a time her Doctor told her not to. So, she returned to her side-project "Brats", a Band she had formed with her older sister when they were younger (around the year 2011). So, in 2018, "Rie" was joined by three other girls (one of them does the screaming and growling) and have returned to the original name, "LadyBaby". [ side note : for whatever reason, "Rei" and "Rie" are no longer friends, since a bit before the time "Rei" left "TIFKAL".. something must have happened ]
Ladybaby has changed a lot over the years, but i love all their iterations! Their biggest appeal to me is that no matter what, they always look like they’re having the time of their lives (I also really like rei and rie’s voices, as well as the new gals too). If you’re up to doing more ladybaby, I’d recommend turning on closed captions (most songs have english captions, or at least the older vids do), ladybaby lyrics are pretty damn great. Currently, the group no longer is with ladybeard and has gained two more members (one of which is a female screamer named emily, she’s a fan favorite). This song is pretty much an advertisement for japan. The lyrics talk about tourist attractions, things to do, and stuff to buy.
I just found this band yesterday, and I'm so hooked. It's high quality music, whatever your opinion of it is, and to me it's extremely catchy and addictive.
You are out of words i know the impact it's amazing. That guy is si cool and group is really good and diferent thank You for being redpecfull on your comments.
OMG thank you so much for the mention and checking out that video! Gotta say I LOVE your reactions! (Also. Ladybeard is originally from Australia. A pro wrestler. And his character here is cannonically 5 years old lol)
Agreed. Original ladybaby could not have lasted too much longer as gimmick. The latest incarnation of Ladybaby is not to darned shabby , either. Ladybeard approved change
The initial idea of Ladybaby was to be just a group to advertise a clothing company called Clearstone. The clothes they were wearing in this video are from that company. At the same time, they also advertised tourism in Japan. Because of problems with his VISA for not being Japanese, Ladybeard (the guy) left the group. After that, only Rei and Rie stayed in the group, so they changed their name to The Idol Formerly Known As Ladybaby. Shortly thereafter, Rei abandoned the project because of a problem in her throat and because she was not enjoying it anymore. When she got better, she joined her sister to form a punk rock band called BRATS (chek them out). Only Rie was left on the Ladybaby project and Clearstone was close to ending the project, but Rie insisted on continuing because she loved it and recruited 3 new members, Fuka (singing), Nana (rapping) and Emily (screaming). This was the last formation of the Ladybaby group. There are some rumors that they disbanded due to bad management from Clearstone because it was not in the music business at all. I suggest you react to their last song: 禊island - it's pronounced "Misogi Island".
the Male singer calles himself LadyBeard he is a Australian pro wrestler who moved to japan and he preformed solo for a while and mixed his style wih wrestling in his live shows.... LadyBaby was formed from a contest to join with LadyBeard
And now time for the other side of Japanese metal ua-cam.com/video/K_xTet06SUo/v-deo.html The singer sings in the tradition of Japanese poetry reading, and the drummers (plural) and shamishen player are insanely talented. Enjoy!
This Ladybaby song is great, love it. Can I suggest that you listen to the cooperation between Babymetal and Rob Halford during an award show and singing the Judas Priest songs Painkiller and Breaking the law.
"Lady Beard" is Richard Magarey (born 3 August 1983) is an Australian stunt actor, professional wrestler, singer and UA-camr, known for his bearded crossdressing persona named Ladybeard (Japanese: レディビアード). He is also vocalist of the band Deadlift Lolita, formerly with the band Ladybaby.
This band has a few more great songs with Ladybeard, then there's several years of good music after he left the group. Ladybeard has also done 2 projects since Ladybaby, both of which are amazing. There was Deadlift Lolita, where he paired with fellow wrestler and bodybuilder Reika Saiki and they are an awesome duo! Then just last year, he launched another more Ladybaby-esque group called Babybeard that is more than worth a listen.
You were warned. Nothing can prepare you for this. First reaction of one of my colleagues: "What in the name of god have I just watched?" They tend to have that effect on people. More wierdness I came across, although not Japanese: Nanowar of Steel: Pretty much all of it. But Valhaleluja stands out at the moment. Equilibrium: Wirtshaus Gaudi and Born to be Epic. Alestorm: Also pretty much all of it. Pshycostick...just look at Oh Tannenbaum, where they did a christmas classic in Rammstein style. Which, by the way is not their own style. So you may want to try another one to get to know them.
The summarize song is literally about the Japanese manju sweet/pastry (link below), and in general about Japanese products and themes to welcome foreigners in with en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manj%C5%AB
After leaving Ladybaby, Ladybeard formed a duet with another pro wrestler, calling themselves Deadlift Lolita, and put out some more pretty solid songs. As of now (4/23/21) Ladybeard has another group in the wings, Babybeard; they'd intended to debut in 2020, but we know how that year went.
Can I please suggest you listen to some Dir En Grey 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 a lot of people suggest them for shock value but they are genuinely so talented, they're actualy quite popular internationally and are quite influential in the japanese rock/metal scene. Their lead singer is truthfully one of the most emotive metal singers I've ever heard, and I cannot recommend them enough. 🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️ A lot of people like to recommend listening to the 2013 tabula rasa live version of their song Macabre but it's a nearly 17 minute long video. As soon as this song started i spotted a guy in a dress and thought it was some random person standing in the background. Bridear - Light in The Dark you will not be disappointed. Also, you wont be looking at the camera like "WTF am I watching?" They are an all girl Japanese band that plays legit old school metal.
Ladybaby has announced it's going to quit in a couple of months. Ladybeard was part of Ladybaby for a year, they tried to continue after that in different formation. On the technical side: because he's a wrestler he also fit enough to do the dances and the growling vocals, you need a lot of air for that. All the band stuff is just prerecorded, they've actually performed live in the west a couple of times backed with a tape. I think London and NYC. Not a fan myself, but what's good about Ladybaby is their energy. Something that a bunch of Japanse bands seem to have, include aforementioned Babymetal.
It is Fun...ny and the music is catchy. Caught me off guard too, and still don't have an opinion.Saw another where they make ramen that is freaking hilarious!
When you looked at the people in the street it made me think: You should watch the video of 385 for a song called Noumiso arou (written like this: 脳みそあらおう) It is Japanese JazzPunk band. They have no guitar but most amazing bassist!! And the video is legit :D And I saw it in the comment~ please, please, please react to Dir en grey. One of their masterpieces is Vinushka. Thank you for the energy and fun you show in your videos! ^.^
The dude calls himself Ladybeard, he rules. He's also a professional wrestler in Japan.
He's mostly well know for being a crossdressing wrestler in Australia.
Quite a political song for the area too.
