Darla, the world needs more teachers like you. Seasoned masters with the patience to teach and inspire. Thanks for making this 40 year old feel like an excited kid in a classroom.
THANK YOU DARLA!!! I have been so lost on how to get a good snap and now my practice is going to really take a step up. I am so excited to have a good stack to send you and I really cannot thank you enough for the time and patience you put in to these videos. I work as a head screen printer all day and listen to your videos religiously while I print shirts and come home to practice as much as I can with your videos paused in the background for the company. Thank you thank you!!!
Imagine going back in time and telling people a day will come when you can take classes from a true master of a craft through a tiny box you carry in your pocket. I feel very lucky. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Darla, You don't have to worry about being a perfect sign painter in order to teach. Just like a coach doesn't need to be a super star player. Your knowledge and ability to explain are top knotch. You are a great sign painter, but more than that, you have a lifetime of experience. That's something very, very few can say they have. And the fact that you're willing to pass some of that along is just amazing.
With the Taklon 162 brushes, do you oil them the same way you would a squirrel hair brush for storage? And if not, how do you treat the brush when storing it?
Darla, so good to see your tutorial. What comes as second nature after all your experience is from concentration and developing muscle memory as you said. Two concepts hard to really explain but you have done it. As a retired dentist, it was developing those same skills that make an excellent dentist as well. Thank you for sharing your experience. I will look forward to your next video. I find that practicing the single stroke lettering almost mesmerizing.
i guess Im randomly asking but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Coleman Walker I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I love watching your videos. The skills you are teaching are so important. Sign painting is one of those skills that when it’s needed, it’s needed right away. Thanks for filming and sharing.
@@darladeeshandpaintedsignsa6501more of this please 🙏 Darla - I'm giving your videos 'another' watch without forgetting to 'like' them. Best tuition on youtube these, I hope you are well. 🥰
I practiced on glass because the old timers told me to do it. They said that if you start without drag and have to manage flow, then when you move to painted or textured surfaces it will be easier to control. It took me months to get consistent lines, but it really makes you pay attention to tiny details. After I started working on projects, I found out how much working only on glass is tough, so now I do 5 or 6 hours on glass and then 1 hour with paper to see my improvements.
I love this content. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents with us. I'm subscribed and watching your tutorials multiple times. I end up picking up something new every time. :-)
Love these videos. Love your personality. I'm struggling with the snap at the corners. It's hard! Maybe you can make a common beginner mistakes video? Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge.
You can always order mack brushes from their website www.mackbrush.com and they are shipped out of Michigan. They also make excellent pinstriping brushes too.

You seem comfortable using the 1/2" Mack Golden Taklon, series 162. The components you pulled with that brush look smooth.

Darla, you are really helpful for people all over the world.
