Wishing all you Irish a very Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Judy performs a rare gem in her concert career at Amsterdam's Tuschinski Theatre on 10 December, 1960.
I always love a shout out to Roger Edens. He was such a stalwart fan of Judy's, he was always there to help her, and any lover of Judy should be grateful she had such a champ and helper in her corner.
When Mr. Edens lost Judy, he lost his reason for living. He was like a father to her after Judy's father died. He wrote many songs for her, starting with DEAR MR. GABLE. Their friendship lasted for the rest of their lives. I'm really surprised no one has written about their lifelong friendship. When she was fired from M.G.M. Roger continued to write special material under the table for her. Probably starting with her Palace medley, which was a great song.
@@terrysmith8749 The Palace Medley was such a crowning achievement for Edens and Judy. When she debuted that, I doubt anybody couldn't realise she was BACK.
@@NHWUSuuu Mr Edens also wrote "Born in a Trunk" for "A Star is Born". Sid Luft bought the rights to this song. Such talented people. Still get chills when I watch Judy's version of ASIB.
One day late this year for playing this. Apologies, Judy. Love the call out of Irish names; difficult yet beautifully executed by Judy. 3/2020
Judy Garland, the greatest lady of the show-business
The best
Love they way Judy finds it amusing when the Dutch clap along. I also think this recording is running slightly fast.
In great voice!
Absolutely marvellous xxx
Omg....this is amazing. Thank you so much for posting this.
This song was written for Judy by her musical mentor, Roger Edens. She sang it in 1940 Little Nellie Kelly.

@@NHWUSuuu He was probably the only person in her life that was in her corner. And sadly he died just a year and 3 weeks after her.
