Great video! Keep finding myself watching this even after the two years after it was published here. He's a truly brilliant individual - an unsung hero.
More of this please /Drive! Perhaps a check in with Baretzky sometime this year to see how everything has turned out so far & his thoughts on the current state of the WEC? :)

Same here, I've probably seen it 4 times. I think it's his sincerity about the tech as well as the politics. For me it corroborates some of the truths I came across in the energy industry over the last 3-4 years. The rules are the only obstacles & limitations. Anyway I wish I knew a fraction of what he knows. His dedication really comes through. Atta - boy Baretzky

Since its debut in LMP1 in 1999, an Audi LMP1 car has never retired from a race with an engine failure, even when they were running in the hands of private teams. That's an astonishing feat! And this the guy behind the engine development during all those years.

Leo, this was absolutely amazing. U. Baretzky is the most interesting man in the car world and I commend you guys for asking the best questions I could imagine. I seem to say this every week but here goes any way... How do you plan on topping this video? I say not possible but I look forward to being proved wrong... I was blocked earlier from comments on MotorTrend's half ass Audi Sebring video they posted yesterday for correcting their mistake that the car that won was the same as Le Mans.
