Erin mentioned carrot cake -- the multicolored green sprinkles as "grass" with piped bunny or chick or colored egg transfers would be so cute for Easter cup/cakes. ☘🐇🐣
What an awesome thing to share during the holidays! Thank you so much for all your tips and tricks. I really appreciate your expertise. I love sprinkles but don't always find the colors I like so this will be a game changer for me.
Hi Erin I absolutely love how you are always so generous with your knowledge and advices ❤😊... I was wondering if I can somehow make these sprinkles eggless?
Well, my goodness, aren’t you the perky Sprinkle Fairy of Sugar Plum Land! Love this video and love your vibe! Think I will do this with my Mini Me Grands when they come for the holiday cookie decorating week. THANK YOU for this tutorial and may life treat you sweetly.
Hi there. I always thought sprinkles were for kids. Well, I'm so glad you made this tutorial to show me the wonderful world of sprinkles. SPRINKLEPALOOZA!!! ❤❤❤
I wanted edible glitter for a baking project but couldn’t find any. So I got some large granulated sugar and coloured it, let the sugar dry for a couple of days constantly moving it around. My glitter was perfect 👌🏻 I will have to give this a try for my next baking masterpiece! Thanks Erin. ❤
Sprinkles are the glitter of baking. Wonky buttercream ? Cover it in sprinkles! Cake looks basic? Sprinkles! Piping fail? You guessed it, sprinkles! 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🖤🤍🤎
I was a high school nurse and was asked to make 1000 cake pops for prom. Their colors were navy and teal. The store bought sanding sugar wasn’t what they wanted, so I made my own! I still have tons of thank you notes from the kids. I’ll look for meringue powder. I live in SW France now and fun sprinkles are non existent.
I think piping with a round tip but keeping it more random/less perfect would be key! And once they’re dry, brushing them with luster dust to make them shimmer! ❤
Hi. I have always wanted to make my own sprinkles. This will be a good start. Do you know how you would color the sprinkles to have a matte finish? I see these on Etsy, but they are so expensive. Thank you !
Some sprinkles with a matte finish are panned/candy coated which is harder to do at home - but most royal icing sprinkles don’t dry with a ton of shine and are fairly matte! In fact, when I want them to be shiny I usually have to add luster dust or shine to them - I think you’d be surprised at the overall look of the homemade! ❤
Have you ever used a dehydrator to dry the icing into sprinkles???? I'd love to try to do some larger ones, but wonder if using a dehydrator would help to insure the dryness of the transfer?????
I typically work with local bookshops to offer these on occasion - right now I don’t have any offerings available. But if you email me (contact form on my website), I’d happy send you a signed bookplate in the mail. These are designed to match the book’s interior and can be applied to any page you wish! ❤
I’ve successfully baked them into a cookie before and it was ok. I used the little “drops” that almost look like chocolate chips that you see in this video. But cookies have a much shorter bake time. Remember, though these are dry they are basically royal icing - so longer bake times they’ll likely dissolve and you won’t really see them. You can always tint store bought sprinkles to use in cakes though - they have more preservatives and hold up better to longer bake times! ❤
Erin I made your pie dough recipe for pie crusts for pumpkin pie.. I had 2 9” pans and just barely had enough dough. How do I add some more dough ingredients,so the dough goes to the top of the sides. I bought your book, and doubled the dough recipe. MAybe that’s my mistake, doubling it. The dough was nice, just not enough.
Then continue on 🙃 There are lots of videos out there for you. Remember that childhood golden rule, if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything 🫢

You definitely could dry them in the dehydrator! I’d keep the temp nice and low! ❤
