Suga created the program because of the members. He wanted to give the members opportunities to promote their singles or albums during the hiatus period that preceded BTS's military service. All members were interviewed, with JK appearing on the program twice.
As he did very well and to suit the members' schedules he interviewed other celebrities too.

Because you're in the music industry, I recommend this video, "why the music industry is terrified of bts" from the channel, Boracity magazine, that shows well how they struggled and overcame challenges in the American music market. It demonstrates how the Western music industry, including Billboard, tried to exclude BTS, but how BTS and ARMY are making their way through that path. "BTS vs radio" from the same channel is also have good quality! It shows the reality where BTS, having refused payola, is receiving a score close to zero in radio spins. (Payola refers to the illegal practice of paying for airplay on radio stations. )

@@frankiebiggznot saying they're not hating on you cause they very well might be but I suggest using papago it's a website & app that translates korean much better as Google translate can not be trusted. there's a high chance they were hating im not dismissing that at all but I've seen korean armys, korean people who aren't fans and even bts and other korean celebrities get misunderstood due to Google translate not translating what they said at all either flipping it from positive to negative or even saying stuff not even close to what bts or the korean person said. one time on Twitter it translate bts saying a slur and it was so far off from what bts said they weren't even related at all to what bts said.
I've seen korean armys who aren't fluent in English say something like you're beautiful or pretty or something of a compliment and it would change it to the most insulting crass thing ever to the point huge army translators would have to defend them for the fans to realize the translation set them up. so just keep this in mind copy paste into papago to have a better idea if the person is hating or attacking you or not. like I said its not to dismiss your feelings at all but I've seen too many mistranslated comments tweets etc from korean to English that I pause my anger to double check. and this can apply to other languages too I've seen issues with many Asian languages or languages that dont derive from Latin letters. so Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, hindi, Russian, Indonesian, Arabic etc and I also see it happen with languages that do use Latin letters like Spanish and Portuguese, German, Italian etc not as often but does happen so try to keep this in mind especially as more armys find you and love your channel many may mean no harm and translation makes them look bad when complimenting. also keep in mind those who just use the translation to act like someone speaking another language I don't know how to tell the difference I think it's difficult if you don't know the languages but I see people called out all the time for acting like they're korean or Spanish-speaking or Thai etc they're called out by real speakers told to stop using Google translate because they can tell the difference between learned language vs Google etc I don't mean to make you doubt positive or negative comments your reactions to them are valid but just wanted you aware of some issues in case it does end up being a misunderstanding etc 💜💜

This Rice Squad BTS video essay is one of my top favorite videos about the BTS story. Some fans don't fully like it because it does not talk too much about the hate to fully encompass the voyage these 7 guys have gone through, but that's ok as other essays fill that part of the story in, although this essay does hint about some of the negatives, such as in the Grammys/Scammys section. What this essay does best is to magnify the positives of BTS' journey through their industry accolades, records & numbers that they have accumulated in a short amount of time & you can tell that talking about it worked based on Frank's facial responses of shock & awe, heh. Many past UA-cam reactors have had the same surprised responses from this essay. Unfortunately, as much as Rice Squad has already updated this essay once or twice already, a couple years have since already passed since the last update & BTS has done a lot again in that stretch of time, so the essay is starting to get more & more obsolete, unless Rice Squad decides to update it again in the future. There is a funny moment I noticed in this reaction video in the beginning, where when Yoongi's photo popped up, Frank's cat also popped into view immediately, suggesting that Frank's cat knows another fellow cat (i.e. Suga, aka "Lil Meow Meow") when it sees one.

Welcome to the ARMY Frankie, nice to have you here:) I became ARMY in 2021 when I was deeply depressed and almost ended it there...but somehow BTS appeared in my life and Kim Namjoon and Min Yoongi talked to me through their lyrics, their songs and healed me. I'm ARMY ever since the first MV I saw from them. As a non-Korean ARMY I recommend you Boracity Magazin channel, she has the best video essays, one of my favorites is 100 BTS moments for the history books. Also as someone who always listened to music but never really knew how the industry works, the same channel has a video called Why the music industry is terrified of BTS, which was an eye-opener for me. Enjoy your journey with BTS!

Miss Grande and is now part of HYBE Labels as HYBE bought out Scooter Braun's company. BigHit kind of grew and grew and is still expanding. They have so many labels under them not and have conglomerate status in the South Korea so have to meet very stiff laws but are seen on the same platform as Samsung and Hyundi. The BTS members were given share's in the company.

Don't feel bad. They don't want you to know about BTS and all that matters is that you're here now. Just know that BTS achieved those number 1s with practically no radio spins. Life goes on got 4 radio spins if you can believe it. BTS refuse to do payola and so their success is truly down to BTS, HYBE and Army. Army earnestly did a whole campaign to try and get radio stations to play their music, BTS went to the stations and got asked the most asinine questions by people that did no research and at the end of the day those stations saw BTS as a joke and barely played their music. Even now they keep moving the goal post to stop BTS from achieving on the Billboard Charts.

The sad things is its not just the racism or bigotry faced in the West but the hate they received at home. Despite being really nice people and doing so much for their country, many Koreans hate them. Recently Yoongi received a big chunk of hate when the Korean media broadcasted fake videos of him, of course with the intention to stir more hate towards them.

They did all that on the power of ARMY *BUYING* their music because they have traditionally refused to pay for radio because they view it as payola. ARMY at this point understand that streaming isn't paying artists jacksht, so we make it a point of buying their music. They also make their albums worth purchasing--they come with photo books and posters and all kinds of nice little extras. Since I have been educated by being an ARMY, I make a point of buying music from artists I support.

There have been plenty of reaction channels run by "industry experts" who were just as in the dark as you.

Hey there Frankie and Irene, great to see you reacting to this finally. It will give you a clearer picture of their rise, failures, success and discography. It breaksdown all their eras and phases and is very well narrated. Many people do not know that the boys were students of hip hop and were immersed in the culture and history. Their music, main tracks and Bside songs are greatly influenced by the genre. Their earleir songs and Bsides reflect that. BTS has allways been victimized by haters of their success and talent at home in Korea and overseas. Racism has allways been a hindrance for progress and knowledge. Nothing can stop their growth because they are monumentally talented , humble and sincere. After watching this, you will understand why Army love them. Even though they are on hiatus now, serving their Country, they are still growing in influence and fan base. Isn't it amazing?

Don’t feel bad I was introduced to them by my youngest daughter during the beginning of COVID. Everything was shout down but I am considered a critical worker due to my field of employment but when I got home and on the weekends she would have me watch their videos and we would have weekend concert night with her best friend family. From that point on I have become an ARMY bias is Jimin. We experienced all four of their concerts in November of 2021 when COVID lifted at SoFi stadium in LA VIP including, sound check etc. It is one of the best experiences of my life along with visiting South Korea Seoul for the second year in a row due to my youngest daughter who introduced me to BTS is out there teaching English. We did tours at the HYPE building, we toured each city that the members were from, we tour “In The Soop” which is one of their series of shows on Weverse and more. Thank you for being authentic and passionate with your reactions whether you like it or not. You are very talented and continue being you. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 OT7 BABY

This gives Bang Si Hyuk slightly more credit than he deserves( ie as if he was a svengali type) However he was reccomended RM by Sleepy. In an early interview he has said after meeting RM and listening to him he was really impressed and he believed it was his duty to make opportunities for him. RM and Suga came with their own songs. Suga with production experience. Both RM and Suga had very definate ideas about what they wanted to do. They submitted songs and the company acted as quality control, giving the songs kpop polish and production. There is no doubt Bang Si Hyuk known as Hitman Bang had the ear for what will work and has written some very beautiful songs within BTS discography but this doccumentary makes BTS look more like passive students when the reality is as the recent retiring CEO said " the company facilitates what they need... They know what they are doing". In the begining RM ( mainly as he was described by the members as being like the Jack Black in school of rock only of RMs School of Hip Hop. The vocal line said RM was aghast at how little they knew about music its roots and the diverse roots of Hip Hop. They said he would sit them down in front of videos pointing out this and that saying isn't that cool, then begging them with tears in his eyes that they listen to the music compilations he made them. The current Training and Developement section of Hybe in an interview said Hyve has based its current T&D on what RM did with BTS, she also said who they chose as trainees now has fundamentally changed due to RM. They select more for passion for music than already skilled trainees, now. Non of BTS were singers only two were rappers and 2 were dancers. So the mega stars we see today trained after joining Big Hit. RM said Bang Si Hyuk would let him put out any song he was prepared to fight for. Though once he said fine but you know you will be hated for this. Its maybe for the purpose of attracting investors that Bang Si Hyuk takes credit for making BTS. Making it seem reproducible and truely on the business side he was innovative. He had to be as he had no money to do things the normal kpop way. However his main skill was in listening to the talent. When RM told him after J Hope left that they had to get him back because without J Hope there would be no BTS. Etc Bang PD listened.... Suga also is very canny. He heavily championed Jimin. As a producer he recognised the possibilities of his voice. He went to management demanding they stop trying to teach him unsuccessfully to rap that he was a vocalist. Having pure vocalists rather than rappers who sing a bit was also the point where the songs pivoted and BTS started blowing up.

In an interview the CEO of Big Hit did after Jin discharge he said they are there to carry out the wishes of the members. Army has been saying for years that Bang basically left his bankrupt company in RM teenager hands. RM, Suga and J Hope these 3 did majority of the work to get the group off the ground. On the social media side Jimin who was posting his little videos pulling in army..😂

    • @marygalligan6455
      @marygalligan6455 5 днів тому +4

Also Bang didn't think Jimin was a complete artist. Thankfully T&D and Suga thought differently! RM even stated that if T&D hadn't protected Jimin that Bts would have been a disaster. Back then when they had T&D at least there was a middle team between the company and the guys...✌💜

The story you heard from an ARMY about BTS saving them is common. Most of us have a similar story and that's why "BTS finds you when you need them most" is a phrase you hear often amongst ARMYs. As for their sales numbers being so massive when it's uncommon anymore, ARMYs have realized that the best way to support them and to ensure they are free to make the music they want to make is to buy their music. So we do. It's also a way we can help them do better on the charts because they don't get a lot of radio play.

BTS like all groups have conflict but they are very mature about how they handle it. They don’t discourage disagreements but they have to discuss and the conflict and resolve with all team members together even if the conflict was just between two members. RM has said that being in a group is like being in a boat with all members looking out in different directions but that they all have the same goal or destination in mind. They showed an argument between Jin and V in the BTS documentary Burn the Stage which really made me respect them even more. After so many years together they are “blood brothers”.

Don’t worry Frankie. Every ARMY who joined after 2013-2016 says the same thing…where have I been??? I found BTS in March 2020, after watching a random dance compilation that the YT algorithm served up. Out of curiosity I googled them & my brain 🤯 to read they were the biggest group in the world. Like WTF… What rock had I been living under??? I wasn’t connected to ARMY then & just devoured every YT video I could find on them. If ever in doubt about what’s true/untrue about the guys, just listen to BTS own words & watch original content in context. Loving your journey of discovery. PS your indignation over their mistreatment brings you about 50% toward being ARMY. Just saying 😉🤣

You'll come across it if you go through their discography 🤗💜🫡 One more thing...Are You Sure? The place the boys went to kayak, Black Hall Outfitters, sold out of the shirts they gave to Jimin and JK. So in response, the cranked out special ones in white and purple, with " The ARMY " on the tag inside, for Unicef on the tag inside, and are donating 10% of the profits to Unicef. A long time charity of the members,BTS,since their " Love Yourself " albums, which still to this day, donate partial proceeds to Unicef. Reason, which I signed up as well. Even John Cena has said that when a group like BTS can help you reach into your pockets for a great cause, why aren't more artists doing this?( on the Jimmy Fallon show is where he said this)Also watch the speeches at the UN on Unicef, and Loving Yourself. I love American Hustle Life but just know the first two episodes are rough. The network that produced/aired it engineered some shenanigans that could have gone very wrong for all parties involved. I think after that BigHit stepped in and the whole tone of the series changes. But if you can get past those first two episodes it's really neat to see these guys go from being incredibly naive about hip-hop, and in particular black culture, to leaving with a greater awareness about the genre they've chosen to do music in.
