Which prime lens would you get? The Sony 50mm F1.4 GM, Sony 50mm F1.2 GM, or the Sigma 50mm F1.4 Art lens???

I bought one two weeks back for my R7rV. Took 1000 photos on a portrait shoot. I love it. Tossed up for a while as I had a 55 1.8 Zeiss. the difference in quality was immediately noticeable in every respect
Great video Sidney. I am going to be getting the Sigma 50mm soon. I am looking forward to testing that one out. This lens looks great too. I like the low focus breathing a lot for video.

You didn't cover chromatic abberation/fringing with the comparison. Which I think is important when checking out lenses.
FYI. I think you may have had a video track hidden when you exported. At 4:45 you’re talking about comparing a couple of photos but there are just a few jump cuts, no photos..
nice first comparison between the lenses. Since I do own the 50 1.2 G Master already, no need for me to change or add gear. Since I do love primes I would buy the 50 1.4 G Master if I would not own the 1.2. Besides image quality and size the filter thread would be another buying argument for me. The 24 1.4 , 35 1.4 and now 50 1.4 G Master all have the the same filter thread. That is nice.

I think there may have been an export issue for the images at 6:51 because the center photo is tack sharp, while the two on the sides are not only noticeably blurrier, but your friend's face looks squished in comparison too

I agree. Over $2k for a 50mm seems crazy.
All the UA-camrs are out in Yosemite in February for the fire fall 🔥. Sony Zeiss 55mm F1.8 is good enough for me. Would like to see Chris thinks of that Tamron 20-40mm f/2.8.
I have the 35mm GM and prefer to wait for an 85mm GM II (the current one is too old for me at this price). At the moment I'm using the Samyang 85mm 1.4 II.
35, 50 and 85 are too many prime lenses for me.

A RECENTLY CONDUCTED STUDY BY TANGENT MEDIA HOUSE SHOWED THAT THE VIDEOS SHOT WITH LATEST SONY ALPHA CAMERAS CAUSED MORE STRAIN ON THE EYES OF THE VIEWERS. SOME VIEWERS ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT SWOLLEN LOWER EYELIDS AS A RESULT. ANY SIMILAR EXPERIENCE REGARDING THIS?

Hum Seriously, i prefer all of them :D But Sony Too Expensive, if you want to buy more lenses GM. For my experience, the Sigma 50mm 1.4 DGDN art, is perfect lens, with my new 20mm 1.4 dg dn art. and then 850 usd :)
they are expensive but they are definitely worth it, then again I mostly shoot with the 14mm, 35mm, 50mm and the 85mm or 90mm. I'm not a fan of zoom lenses so I try to stick with the prime lenses that I have. Also less lenses to buy.
No it's not the ultimate 50mm, the f1.2 is the best but the f1.4 is pretty dang good and way cheaper and lighter. I have both and the f1.4 is almost comparable to the f1.2 visually. They're both GMs though, so you're good with either.

Well, the smaller size and is better for travel and the price of this new lens is much better than the more expensive 50mm 1.2 GM

Introduce a small/light 50mm/1.8 G lens, and now we’re talking ! The 50/1.4 is a pointless addition, given that we have FAR more pressing priorities, like say a new 85/1.4GM that’s long overdue. The 50mm range was already well covered
We need a 35, 50, and 85mm G
I agree with this, a 35, 50, 85 G 1.8 trio with updated focus motors would be so good. Having the 50mm 1.2 but also a good even smaller 1.8 for travel would be ideal.
