I moved to Denver from Cleveland Ohio and I have to say this is the most peaceful state I been to
I've been to 32 states, lived in 2 other besides CO and 8 diff places out the country n they all pretty much the same.

Born raised, still here in Colorado. I think the biggest issue is drugs. A few of my siblings grew up in Montebello. Slanging coke from 1990-2010 ( until he went to prison). I remember as a kid some neighborhoods were horrible. You had to keep your eye out for sure. One of my brothers still goes up & down Colfax.. & not for any good reasons. Montebello, Aurora, 4 points, South Denver, Pueblo, used to be bad. Now, with everyone moving here, it's becoming classier. These places were poverty. Not anymore, with the rich kicking them out. It used to be the highest crime rate now, it's Grand Junction & Cannon City. If you offiliate yourself with the gang, you put yourself in danger here. If you just move here, no one knows you & you keep your head down. You're pretty safe.
I was born and raised in and Denver, and a majority of my childhood and adolescence I was raised in Montebello, and went to school near Park Hill and had friends who lived and Park Hill and I can say Denver is rather safe. I had friends/family that would visit from Compton,Oakland and Detroit and said our hoods felt like the suburbs😂 Denver overall is truly safe compared to other hoods in the U.S and that’s honestly a blessing🙏🏾

I moved to Denver from Atlanta in 2016 and this is hilarious to me. I live near the neighborhoods they toured and it’s the softest, safest, least threatening area. There have been a few shootings in my neighborhood but no one has been injured. I be all over these neighborhoods on a bike, late at night, completely unafraid. Nicest gang bangers ever. 😊

Even if we are talk about statistics Pueblo, Colorado has much more going on than Denver. I have had friends visit from Detroit, Compton etc, where there are REAL hoods and saw Montbello and Park Hill as the suburbs😂 Which is honestly a blessing🙏🏾

I lived in the Westridge projects in the 1970's, I went to Cheltenham School, Rishel Junior High, North High School , and was a member of the Johnson Boy's club. Nice memories, I left Denver in 1982 for the army and returned in 2017, this city has changed and grew.

I'd go to punk shows in what ppl say are the sketchy parts of Denver (at that time 5 points, east Colfax, rino, highlands) and feel safe enough to leave my car unlocked the whole time and leisure stroll th neighborhood. Used to go to shows in west bmore at a place called the loft, ppl offer drugs from big black garbage bags at stoplights and if you go to the corner store you gonna get your pockets ran😅😢
I remember coming to Denver in 2005 to visit my cousins. My cousins from LA 91st E/S Hustla Crip and lived in Park hill. I pulled upbto they shopping center and walked in the hood store and it was bout 5-7 dudes and girl flamed up in the store just staring at me. I was clued up in a Throwback Kobe royal blue LA jersey and some royal blue Nike prestos. Nobody pressed me and my cousins pulled up and I hopped in and left. My cousins was like them niggaz was finna get at you cuzz. I told cuzz in Texas or LA i wouldn't have made it out the store cuzz. I was good..

I live in Denver been in all the hoods but my peoples on the east side and Montebello. Coming from Flint Michigan and Detroit. Denver is the safest city I ever been in and I been here for a minute. Not to say it ain't got it's gang violence and down fools but compared to other major cities they really ain't got the violence or projects like other cities. And it's the cleanest place I've personally been. If you stay in your lane here your straight. The gang shits weird because even in the early 2000 s when I would come to visit the gangs hung together and you could wear colors all over. I know I did it and I used to sell work in park Hill blued up. Got in a couple altercations but nothing g too crazy. Regardless you can get it anywhere so don't think it's sweet. And now the crime is going up.
