I guess people who lack imagination and never used mental escapism are the ones who hate this film.
Nah people just dislike Snyder for no reason
This
Hold up, it isn't normal to imagine life struggles as a battlefield??
I just thought it was too heavy handed. But that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to enjoy it.
This
This is one of those movies that don't make any sense until like three hours later when you figure out what all the symbolism within symbolism actually meant
NikkisaurXGoesXRawr Lmaoo ikr tho
Oh so what does it mean lollll I am still so fucking confused after the whole movie lmaooo
@@indiechic8385 ok so basically the movie is from a point of view of a girl who has suffered serious trauma and is put a mental asylum and abused even further in the mental asylum to the point where she creates fantasy worlds just to escape them
INTELLIGENCE IS KEY TO THIS MOVIE😬
@@indiavazquez9169 except for the fact that she was labotimized.
I like how people hate Sharknado but it makes sequel after sequel. But Sucker Punch doesn't get a chance for a sequel
+Henry Mitov they couldn't really make a sequel seen as Babydoll was lobotomised.
+Toby Brook Ya, but the whole movie was from the perspective of the girl that escaped, hence why she was narrating it. If you didn't figure it out from the beginning of the movie, the girl that escaped actually was crazy, the dances were the girls showing the therapist what happened to them, and the different battle scenes were how the narrator interpreted the therapy sessions.
+Genady Mitov I'd Rather get lobotomised then see a sequel of this movie
+Demon ruler and you are here why?

Who the hell knew Bjork went THIS HARD 😭

Right? I bet Billie doesn't even know who Bjork is.
Yassssss thanks gentlemen
Your both so fucking on point
I think im gonna stop scrolling comments now 🌺
what we’re not gonna do is compare to different singers that have amazing talent
Evtim Stefanov You saw this comment on the original version of this track
Totally agree!
I feel like a badass listening to this

This is the bad bitch version of army of me

who else agrees that this is one of the best remixes you'll ever hear? I really want more music like this, but have no idea how to find stuff like it...
Enckling what about the "Deftones??" 💚💚💛💛❤❤
Try Bjork's tracks, Declare Independence and Pluto. There the two most intense songs by her alongside this one.
I also dare to recommend “Come With Me” by Puff Daddy. At least as badass as this tune
Drain STH
Counting bodies like sheep by APC is almost similar music wise. Some nine inch nails as well. As far as similarities with lyricists, sade is really good, but not heavy what so ever.
This movie is amazing. I ended buying it. It was SOOOOOO under rated. I love the story line and the depths she goes into her mind. Bjork did a freakin top notch job on Army Of One.
darthzyrus really, It was a great movie. I would buy it too.
this was when Bjork was forced to create commercially appealing songs by her record label, after that she just went off the rails and sounded like a nutter. I prefer this version of her
Well i watched it at FoxMovies.
And its a really great movie
I just recently saw it again.(the first time was in the theatre when it came out)and I liked it! It wasn’t horrible, really entertaining. There’s just a LOT of smug people out there that think they know better than everyone else...
army of me* and ur so right!
I don't care what people say about this movie. I loved it and Emily Browning was amazing
don't worry, people aways sucks
Right? The critic also have mixed opinion for this movies. So i think this movies is not for everyone but also this movies need more recognition.
i thought it was a fantastic film
This movie is mostly for the intellectual. If you understand it you know. “For those who fight for it, life has a flavor the sheltered will never know.”
The whole cast is. Especially Sweet Pea and Rocket
The original is good too but this remix gives me chills every time I hear it. I find myself going back to it every few months or so.
I go in for blood work today to get tested for cancer and this song it makeing it easier to deal with...please pray for me ...
You still alive?
How are you ?

You can't just drop a bombshell like this and not give us updates! Unless---------- just please say something :(
I hope you knocked it out of the park and survived well. 💞
I love how as the female scenes of obectafication is about to begin it switches to one of female empowerment- very well done
How in fresh hell did you misspell objectification that badly
I too feel the obectafications sometimes ngl 😔✊
That's what it's really about. For example, when some dude is staring at a stripper, throwing money at her, powerless under her physical spell, who is in power, at that moment? She is.
I feel obectaficated by your spelling (and general grammar as well honestly)- not very well done
@@cross3052 the people in power who seek to destroy families and the Christian way of life who have tricked you into believing it's a question of man vs woman. That's who. The people trying to deprive us of morals, a soul, and true peace and fulfillment. Both man and woman lose in this scenario. But that's alright, more and more people are waking up and their time is coming to an end.
Sucker Punch is NOT about girls or madhouses. It is a metaphor, the entire plot is a adventure of the psyche and 3 main characters are the components of the human psyche: Sweet pea is the Ego, Wise Man the Super Ego and Baby Doll the It. The whole plot is a learning experience for the Ego and the fact that SP is free to go in the end means it is a happy ending. That is why Snyder haters hate his movies, THEY ARE WAY OVER THEIR LITTLE HEADS.
Damn you just changed my whole perspective of this movie, the movie is extremely underrated.
@@bruhufool Thank you. I haven't seen it whole but from what i know there is a lot to analyze here. For ex., from what I have seen, all the other girls are killed, disappear, which would mean they represent things than may go away, tendencies, memories, etc, and the only ones who remain at the end are those two which mean things that stay, i.e integral parts of the psyche. Also from the beginning Id wants to precipitate things and all she gets is to make mistakes for which there is a price to pay, which is of course a learning process. At the end she volunteers to sacrifice herself to allow Ego to be free which is nothing less than finally the Ego being able to act while controlling its basic impulses. And which is the individual driving from then on the bus on the road trip of her life...? Knowledge and experience, wisdom: Wise Man, the Super Ego,
That is a happy ending, because BD is NOT dead, she is only under control. BTW, a lobotomy is not an operation that turns a patient into a vegetable like films as SP, Brazil or POA would pretend, it was something was was popular in the post war period when it was thought that personal tendencies, among them criminal ones, were located in particular parts of the brain and I remember when a kid that some career criminals were offered to be set free if they accepted to have the "criminal part" of their brains cut off. I guess the procedure wasn't very successful after all to stop crime but I know that after the operation the neuro motor capabilities of a man were not irremediably affected, they could modify his behavior but not in any way to the point of turning him into a vegetable. With that perspective the one practiced on BD makes far more sense, she is being put under control. The bad step father is most likely also another representation.
BTW, in you are interested in the subject there is a great movie about the same thing, the elements inside the psyche, but in this case that of a serial killer. It is called Identity, with John Cussack and Amanda Pett.
If Bjork went metal I would totally jizz
oh hell yea. That would be sick.
She started out that way. ICE Cubes.
Sugar cubes?
+Ben Harrison lmfao
+Ben Harrison i remember sugar cubes they were cool
Just the fact that she said "Stand up" sends chills down the spine
Wow why is bjork not main vocals for a rock band? Her screams are amazing
I wish oneday i'll hear sth way more harder from Bjork. A real one that i can say thats hard is her 'Pluto'
Because she's "An Army of One"
Sugarcubes
Bjork cannot be contained any band of mere mortals.
She's more rock tham most of the rock intended bands if you listen carefull
SHE'S CRAZY, HER THROAT MUST HURT LIKE HELL
+MrTheTGUY She got throat nodules so yeah I'd assume as much
This movie was a brutal truth that ppl dont understand or want to accept the truth that goes around in the world.
3:12-3:43* FUCKIN SICK , I get chills every time

I love Björk
She's taken your too late
He who hesitates misses out

I actually watched sucker punch for the first time when I was about 9 or 10 can't remember but what I do remember is how cool I thought this film was especially the badass characters, I was so fascinated by the alternate realities, the fight scenes and the soundtrack, everything about this film struck a chord in me at such a young age and I didn't even understand the true meaning behind this film as I do now, this is truly a magnetic masterpiece to me because as soon as the film started, I was drawn to it's mysterious introduction
i watched it on a plane when i was 8, my dad recomended it and i can not word my experience better than you did
I think the reason why "so many people" hated this film was that it was too early for that year for ppl to appreciate such themes mash together like a fireball.
makes me think if it was released sometime between 2016-2021 , it's have a better impact, one that it deserves. a better and heavier impact
a movie far before it’s time 😔
honestly hope it gets more recognition now that it’s on netflix

I think by far the saddest part of this movie was how most of the girls didn’t stand a chance. Babydoll even says it at the end. I don’t think I was the only one who thought all the girls would make it out in the beginning, until the end I realised all except Sweetpea showed so many signs of mental illness. Especially Babydoll. And it’s likely that some of them didn’t start that way, their reality (mental hospital and the brothel) probably broke them.
First of all, it’s not real, so settle your horses, a story has it’s purpose, and it’s never to get caught up in the characters like you’re reading up on the gossip column, if the ending doesn’t have a catharsis it’d be called a documentary but it’s not, so the elements of the equation are there to point at the sum of all the parts. Watch it again and try to find the ending this time around!! .. And one more thing, metaphors are not literal.. and did I mention that metaphors are not literal but they are metaphysical. For example , the three Giant Samurai at the beginning are exactly the three at the end in the bathroom stall!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
So the movie plays out as a prophecy, she goes into an ecstatic state while she dances and she sees the end before the beginning, she knows she will conquer but she doesn’t know how, so the victory is shown to her in secret but the puzzle is how the that same victory translates into reality. As far as mental illness, you’re wrong on all counts, the reason why mental institutions were particularly banned is because you can’t having the sick healing sick, which is what this movie portrays quite well but some in society would still have you believe that some are lucid while others are insane!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
@@mr.katnip1513 “You’re not supposed to get caught in the characters like you’re reading up on the gossip column”
Did you watch the movie? It is telling you to get invested and figure out what’s going on because they aren’t going to tell you. It’s supposed to be deep and have multiple meanings depending on what you (the viewer) thinks.
Why does your comment continue after this if you’re not supposed to get caught up with the characters?
@@stitchedmouthgirl Because they are parts of a picture that tells a story, they are not stories of within themselves; notice at the end Babydoll only reveals the sum of her visions to Sweetpea when she says, ‘I know what I have to do now’ but all the other girls were in the dark, they were only riding on ‘we can do it’!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
@@stitchedmouthgirl If you listen to the narrations by Sweetpea you’ll understand what the movie portrays as a whole, keep in mind that neither Babydoll or Sweetpea are ‘criminally insane’. Sweetpea was there for her sister, and Babydoll was there because of her Stepfather. The only person seeing the visions is who we have the pleasure of seeing the movie through her eyes 👀 which is Babydoll but the narrative is entirely Sweetpea’s, Sweetpea only sees the dance “reality” as it were, while Babydoll is in a more heightened state of consciousness due to her recent trauma, and she’s having visions while dancing but the optics of what they experienced in reality is through Sweetpea’s eyes 👀 Take your time… When you see the optics initially it is the Oscar’s character optics, which is grimy and dirty all around, pay attention to each and all the individual optics!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Coming back to that drop at 5:40 is chilling and absolutely bad ass

Still here in 2023, mentally escaping out to this Björk cover
I have praised this movie over and over. But i am content with the fact that whenever i go anywhere these days everyone seem to love it, especially here on the tube. It has, deservedly so become a cult movie since release. Visuals, story, acting, soundtrack, directing, editing (watch the extended version)... everything is fucking spot on.
This song never fails to pick me up off the floor
I’ve always wished the scream was included in the og song
This particular remastered version or remix of Björk's phenomenal "Army Of Me" has an energy that is almost like a battlecry, amplifying the original atmosphere in a style that is deeply reminiscent of Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness" in certain parts. It's incredibly well-made.
I don't know how Björk thinks about this today, but you know - give Björk whatever you want, and she could make a Björk-thing out of it. Perfect. Invincible. Untoppable. Björk-able. Björk. Nothing more (there IS nothing more), nothing less.
And take a look at this: ua-cam.com/video/vlBYtIwFh0c/v-deo.html

Such an amazing and underrated movie. It truly needs more attention than it gets.
I don't get why people hate this movie, if it was too sexual for them then they should of been more mature about it.
Because of this fight scenes with samurai, dragons, nazizombies etc.
