I'll be damned! I've owned my Nautilus with tow package that I don't use for three years and never could get that to work. Followed your directions and it opened first time from both sides of the hitch. I've been doing that too high leg lift too. The motion is more like kicking a can under your bumper. I was so frustrated with it I was seriously thinking of removing the hitch receiver.

I have a power liftgate. If someone pushes it closed instead of using the button, will it eventually break?

How can you disable the option ?? Mine keeps activating when I load my bike rack

I would love to know the answer to that also. I’ve had my liftgate come down on me when I’m loading groceries. I sometimes can’t hear the closing chime when I’m loading the vehicle because of traffic noise.

@@philipfm Go to settings/ vehicle/ Power Liftgate on the touch screen and it has the enable/disable options.

The only time this feature works for me is when I am likely to be crushed by the tailgate.
