Great reaction and as always with Babymetal, expect the unexpected. They were created in 2010 by Amuse talent agency as a sub unit of an idol group called Sakura Gakuin and became independent in 2013. They noe have about 60 songs and released 4 albums thus far with the latest “The Other One” being released just 3 weeks ago in March 2023 (they don’t consider it their 4th album themselves but more of a side project and labelled it as a concept album).
I think you would like “Mirror Mirror “ another song from the concept album but any other recommendation from Jake is a safe bet (Karate live at Download 2016, or Megitsune and Headbanger are my personal favourite on his list xd).
I hope to see more BM reactions on your channel soon! 🤘🔥🦊

Saying Babymetal was created as a sub-unit by Amuse is kind of implying it was their plan, but it was the idea of a producer who came from working with bands. He was asked to work in the kids department because demand for bands was so low in Japan. Amuse as a company thought it was a wacky idea, this metal and j-pop idol and didn't want to fund it, but they allowed him to do it without funding. Almost like a hobby project. Surprisingly they allowed him to work with their most talented singer of her generation at the company. He had already spotted her before and really wanted to work with her. So she was and is the center of Babymetal. Because he didn't get funding he had to use other ways to promote Babymetal in new ways and that in part lead to eventually Babymetal became the most selling Japanese music act overseas of it's generation.

Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊I saw them performing this song live on Saturday at Wembley Arena in London ... at which point I will say (and I guess you have been told already) live BABYMETAL is where they shine brightest, so for reactions you will not go wrong with good quality live performance videos (just avoid Glastonbury - the BBC made an awful job of the audio on their live stream where those videos come from).
You already have some good info on their origins and history and some great suggestions for more songs and advice of where to find them, so I will just say that with about 60 songs now you will struggle to find two alike. They have songs in virtually every metal genre and they will mix and blend many other musical styles and genres, usually when you least expect it.
Some songs are good hard, dirty metal, some songs lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between - they are never boring.
If you do find a song that doesn't appeal so much to you (unlikely, but I'm told it can happen) don't worry, just try another song and there is a good chance it will become a new favourite for you.

That’s great to know, and I tend to gravitate towards the heavier, more technical grooves personally. I think the fact you prefer the live tracks speaks volumes to their talents, as the best bands are better live in my opinion!

Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL started back in 2010 and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.🤘🦊🤘

I just became a fan 5 months ago and I'm in deep! They are quite the emotional Rollercoaster of energy and excitement and happiness!
A few random thoughts hopefully others didn't say ..no two songs sound alike. They mix a LOT of genres with metal. Even on this new album, especially Metalizm which blends face ripping guitar solos and true metal beats with very heavy club beats, dubstep, and Middle Eastern melodies.
It's a wild ride, hope you enjoy!

Good reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL.
As it's been said, they are very diverse, musically speaking. And they have a very distinctive feature which you only will discover on a live performance. Fortunately for us, we have plenty of them here in YT. 😁
Here are some suggestions since I can't decide whether to suggest something older or something newer:
This is from late 2013 and it's a real live: "Headbanger" (Live at Legend 1997): ua-cam.com/video/QEsOaMbNFww/v-deo.html
And this one if from a copule of weeks ago, although it's a MV (studio audio): "Mirror Mirror" (official music video): ua-cam.com/video/7uOoH2PTYl0/v-deo.html
    Until next time!

BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were only 11 when the group began.
All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life the girls would learn and train to be idols and graduate at age 15 to move onto whatever entertainment path they chose.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues) and Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine.
They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these for a start.
Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls.
    Megitsune LIVE at Budokan 2021
Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan
    Headbanger LIVE
Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro
At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.

I gotta comment once more sorry... given the question "what is Babymetal?"
My answer, as a pretty new fan that already is familiar with all their music...
Babymetal is the sum of MANY moving parts, all of which require top level talent at every turn.
It is .. the lights and stage production. The storytelling, the intricate backing tracks, expert songwriters with more catchy choruses than you could ever count, top 1% level live musicianship, extremely intricate deliberate choreography with every single song (live is the real Babymetal experience, audio is just one of too many moving pieces), and last but far from least it's these powerful ladies who put forth more energy and effort into every single song of every show way more than I've seen from any band in history. It is Su's incredible voice whose probably recently leveled up as one of the top metal singers alive..
They make me laugh and smile every time, for so many reasons.
The messaging in the songs are truly powerful also. They always play with multiple themes at once following a fantasy storyline of the characters in the band, along with lessons about real life.
Their overall message is usually one of unity, community, and love and understanding, overcoming obstacles together.

This song is the second track off their new concept album, followed by Mirror Mirror. The whole album is great, and in its own way it's both a different Babymetal, and the same Babymetal, but then every song they release is different in it's own right. Them mixing together jpop and various style of metal, and anything else they want to throw in, has made them incredibly dynamic in the music they've released over the years.
All of Babymetal's songs are far superior live. If you do a search for Babymetal Reactor Resource channel, you will find the live version of this song that was performed back in Januar. It will get hit with the YT algorithm normally, but on the channel is the video with a large logo on it, and in the description is a link with the video for you to react to. You can then insert the YT version in your video to prevent it from getting removed.
There is also a live version of their new song Monochrome on the channel, which is my favorite song of theirs, and it's the eighth song off the concept album. There is also the Official Lyric Video on YT.
Most people have a set of specific songs of early music they like to recommend people, but I don't follow that path. I prefer newer concerts, songs sampled from all their albums. Each of these videos have their own ways to get past the YT algorithm, most are compilations of identical concerts seamlessly stitched together. I like to post these because there really are terrible compilations out there if you just search for them and not knowing what they are.
