Finally - now that the CZ engineers have woken up from their stupor, how about updating the P07 and P01 with optics ready slides. I know they can do it.
I'm hoping this slide will fit the P01. Long overdue.

First time CZ buyer with my Shadow 2 Compact 3 weeks ago and have been to the range these past weeks more than the past year and a half. I'm carrying it everyday and I'm Team CZ 4 Life!

Now make one with a decocker instead of a safety, and it's perfect.
And a firing pin block so we could actually carry it like a modern pistol.
@@Gun_TalkIt's a tradeoff to get a better trigger pull. Shadows are meant to be "performance" handguns, and definitely not optimal for EDC.
@erwannq oh, for sure. I own a Shadow 2 blue single action and I would never even consider carrying it 🤣🤣
@@Gun_Talk sadly they don't really offer a full metal compact DA/SA EDC handgun like the RAMI anymore. Maybe they're testing waters with that S2C to see if people are still interested in that kind of gun.
@erwannq Yeah, I usually carry a glock 43x with a shield arms 15 round mag. Been happy with it so far. I wish it had shadow ergos though lol
I'm curious what people think of the following: even though this is a competition gun I think the next iteration of the Shadow II compact should offer the option for a decocker for those of us who don't like to carry cocked and locked

My Shadow 2 is my favorite gun. However, without a firing pin block, I have to ask who this pistol is for. Those who want to compete are going to use a full sized Shadow 2 for better recoil control and capacity. Those who want to carry concealed are going to want a firing pin block and maybe a decocker. Why is CZ so out of touch with the American market? Will we ever get a P-02 with S2 grip angles and ergos?
So was John browning out of touch. The 1911 wasn't designed with one. And with the safety on you could drop it on the hammer.
You hit the nail on the head. My immediate question was “did they add a firing pin block?” I love my Shadow 2, but would never carry it even if it was smaller and lighter without one.

@Jdmitchell308 Keep in mind that there's also a grip safety on a 1911 / 2011 as well that literally acts as a drop safety. It simply won't go off unless your hand is gripping it correctly, disabling the safety. There is no such grip safety here.

CZ 2075 RAMI?
We kinda got one - IWI Masada slim. I just wished it was 4” and had a light rail.
The RAMI is a bit chunkier than a micro, and it was discontinued, ostensibly in favor of the P-10 M, but they are at very different price points. The only connection is that the P-10 M came out shortly after the RAMI was discontinued, and it is the new smallest gun in their lineup. I love my RAMI, but I'd like to see a thinner RAMI, even if it meant going single-stack. I'd live with 7+1 if it got the width down closer to an inch. There just aren't any options for DA/SA micro 9mm. I want the DA/SA of my CZ in the size of my Kimber Micro 9, but such a gun doesn't exist, and to my knowledge, no one is working on one. Everybody is just reaching for ever smaller slices of the polymer-frame, striker-fired pie.
@@chrissmalley83someone is working on one for sure. I don’t know if it will be beretta, cz, or H&K. Probably cz because hk hates our money and beretta thinks they already have a subcompact in the px4 storm so I don’t think they are working on that. I’m thinking cz will win the race for my money. Just my prediction
@@bigk4026 If (big "if") anyone is developing a DA/SA micro 9, I'd probably put Sig among your contenders. The P365 really set the bar for the polymer micro 9, and they have experience with DA/SA. Maybe Smith & Wesson could bring us a DA version of the CSX? Kind of a narrower rebirth of the CS9? I know I'm not the only one who wants a slim DA/SA 9mm for carry, but there might not be enough of us to justify the engineering expense while there is still money to be made copying Glock's homework.

Without a firing pin block this simply isnt safe to carry pointed at your man bits.
P07/09 or P10 series (other than micro), based on your size preferences, is better carry. Or go ultra small with HS-11 / Hellcat and almost similar or even same round count as P07.
@@phh2400 Agreed, anything with proper modern safeties. I wouldn’t buy this anyway but I’m pointing out a major safety flaw. I could easily see them being sued for marketing towards carry. Being a gunsmith I’ve bumped the top of my slide with different tools before accidentally while working and that’s the exact inertia it could take to set off a primer.
I have a tuned up PCR- i would assume except for the rail its pretty close to same thing. But sounds awesome, i know my PCR is phenomenal.

It carries great. Not the lightest/smallest but it's in EDC rotation, esp in the winter. Stock sights SUCK, get the Dawsons. Sent the gun to CGW and it came back transformed. The gun is like a laser now. Also added LokGrips.@@giar9124

And additional calibers and sizes, a P07 style micro 9 like the sig p365 would be great and a 10mm P09 would be really cool

@@jamessadik9478 you can’t engage the safety with the hammer down (double action) and the safety only blocks the sear. It doesn’t do anything to prevent the firing pin from engaging the primer should something strike the hammer while in the forward position…like being dropped.
@JW23551 right, I always cock and lock my sp01 so for me I'd do the same on the s2 compact. But I do think a firing pin block would have been a great idea. Any reason why they didn't want to do that?

I wonder if there is a wait below wish the micro-compact might fall that would be not enough wait for the benefit of the non polymer functionality of the CZ 75 and its sister gun The Shadow in terms of recoil and the ability to handle it for Rapid Fire. I posted a comparison of the Shadow to the just rolled out to 50 year-old 911 in the new 911. In the 911 has always been for its size a car with some weight. But since it's always been a smaller car relative to most other high-performance GT class cars other than say Nissan, and therefore having a wicked horsepower to weight ratio, making it quite the great handling racecar it is and always has been... so maybe you talked me into that going down in size substantially again would still have the benefits of the relative 'metal vs. Polymer' - recoil impact on its performance
At $1200 at the most I would consider it but yeesh that estimated pricepoint + other carry features absent.

Now CZ make an optics ready, compensated sao, flat trigger shadow 2 with thin lok grips. Island comp bull barrel preferably. Keep the gun under 40 ounces and balance it well. Keep the price under 2k and you got a winner! I am also available for hire, CZ. 😉

Somehow the super hyped up sigma phonk music is super fitting for CZ in a way that wouldn't work for a different brand. Oh and cool gun too, I would have a Shadow if I could afford one.

If there is no firing pin block safety then this isn't a carry gun. Its size also prevents it from being a useful competition gun. This gun doesn't know WHAT it is. But I'm sure CZ marketing is counting on a lot of impulse buys from Shadow fans. I'm getting a bad feeling about CZ and their management/marketing decisions this past year. If this is your answer to double-stack micro 9s and the glaring gap in micro double 9s that are DA/SA, then I just don't understand what's going over there anymore. Has Colt corrupted your management and leadership that much?

Looks sexy. But to me, the defining feature of the S2 is that it's heavy. A non-heavy S2 just doesn't seem right! Make a ~38oz steel frame version and I'm much more likely to bite.
Need to look at some details. Probably moves right to the top of my wish list.

Cz had only couple different shadow 2 models outside of tactical sport series.
Compact model is their first actual new gun in that platform.
So i dont think we will see new generation in anytime soon.
Now please offer a 3 inch version. This is to big to carry and to light to compete. Won't be replacing my "quiet" P01 Omega on the night stand . Wont be replacing my P30SK daily carry. Wont be replacing my Shadow 2 run and fun. However; make a SubCompact 3 inch DA/SA Carry version and I am in. This however has zero purpose to me. But I am sure it will sell, it looks cool.

main EDC, P01 and 2075 RAMI, both w Cajun Pro package.. and P229 1337 stainless w carry action job.. just wish the RAMI and P01 were steel framed..FTW. most gals even don't carry, why make light guns again? been through 11,000 guns and feel like I'm at my happy place w CZ.. likely my next is a DWX compact but honestly could be satisfied w/out.

So a less capable competition style pistol, with a higher price point... While being severely outdone in the carry department by just about every company in the market.
Im not one of those people who instantly thinks you have to have a "reason" to own a gun... But I certainly dont see any practical reason for this one. Who would pay more for less? A showdow 2 will outshiot it on range day, and actually cost less ...and an optics ready P10c will out carry it all day every day.

@DinoNucci i heard one guy mention that this might be trying to compete with the compact 2011 market. But unless CZ gets this down to around the $1000-1200 price range, i dont see anybody but the hardcore CZ enthusiasts buying this thing.

I'm really curious the difference between this new Shadow 2 Compact and a cajunized P01 with both on the same frame. What I don't like is the proprietary grips which stop you from using LOK Grips or other manufacturers to customize your gun!
Henning Group will have grips soon, and I imagine Lok and Armonov will too.

I am retired and living in Germany and shoot rifles and pistols competitive: PRS, F-Class, IPSC. I started in the military in 1961-1984 and I swear by my 1911/2011’s on .45. My 9mm is a tuned CZ 75 BD/DeCocker,but on de cock only goes to half cock from factory. For your information the CZ 75 family started having firing pin blocks with the CZ 75 B model. Quit so much bitching and go directly to CZ USA with your questions! I go directly to CZ here in Europe, nice facilities and people!!
