The Website is Down episode number two! Chip takes us on a wild ride into the life of a master salesman. How many sales can he make in a single video? One? Maybe?
I've seen this so many times and I just noticed at 0:37 Chip has been carefully trying to find, and put back in their original place, each shortcut icon one by one. This series is so freaking genius!
Why do I still watch these after 8 years? Because due to all of its deep details, I STILL find something new each time. For example Chip's emails from his ex-wife at 0:47. Who puts in details like this that he knows 99.9% of his viewers will never see? It is so admirable. I really wish this guy would come back.
Haha. Fantastic. Almost laughed as much as I did when I saw the first one. I imagine they're quite time consuming to make but it is indeed a shame that you don't produce more. I guess it's a true sign of my nerdiness that I felt slightly stressed whilst watching him screw the 'Excel table' up. Noo.. just.. just move it back and.. AHHHHHHHHH!
Anyone else notice that Web Dude calls the "save" dialog a "popup box from the system", and then at 8:10 a popup pops up that's called "A dialog box from the system"? LOL
"i've actually been waiting for your call" "whoa really?" "well...no, but my boss just read an article in blight magazine about you guys and..now he's interested in your piece of shit software" lmao
What's scary is how close to reality this is. The other day, I had a lady call wanting help with saving a PowerPoint presentation. I remote into her PC to help her save it. She then wanted to make sure it would open. She actually asked, "I use Microsoft Word to open it now, right?"
I was pissing myself when he actually typed out "ALT I R" instead of the intended keystroke I fucking lost it at Powerpoint Excel. And yes, I do work in IT haha
I just started watching your videos and they are awesome. I'm trying to get into system administrator myself and if it's anything like this I'm going to love it hahahah
Did anyone notice the 'sales guy' kept clicking on the button from the pop-ups that said "Install More Spyware?" LMAO - oh man, that was great! Thanks for the laugh...
@@jimhart5797 I did Jim! 2 years after I posted this comment I was a first line tech support for a college. And it was exactly as this video portrayed, we had insane users and had laughs about their escapades all day. I've since moved onto become a software developer, but I started out in IT thanks to this video. Dreams do come true 😁
one of the popups's title is "dialog box from the system" XDDDD... and when he lost the minesweeper game he was on the last one... only noticed after watching it 10 years later hahaha
Haha, watching this again years later, and there's still stuff I didn't catch. One of the popups is for software from the company they all work for lol.
This really does hit way close to home. I'm a desktop and application support tech for a big corporation, and I get this kind of thing all the time. I had a guy suggest that "the video drivers got fried on the motherboard". The monitor was unplugged. No joke.
Can we buy the adobe air softrware that generate the popup if you still got it or can you upload it to webarchive so we can preserve it. I have been wanting to buy it for 6 years but the website don't feature it anymore for sale.
Hey I don't think you can run Adobe AIR apps any more but here is a zip of all the images (and the AIR file too if you can get it to work): 69105.s3.amazonaws.com/thewebsiteisdown/milf.zip
@@jrwyt-thewebsiteisdown Thank you very much, this had been a dream for 6 years to acquired the MILF virus, thank you very much. You seriously made my days.
You have ONLY 7500 views on this, and is a darn shame because this episode is emblematic in showing us the complexity (or lack thereof) of Chip's mind PLUS the incredible powerpoint skills!
It's possible to use a debugger to read the location of the mines from Minesweeper's memory and create a map of where they all are so you can click the right squares for recording this video.
Even in 2023 these are still spot on. You should do one where there is a broadcast storm because some idiot decided to download malware that DDOS's the whole network. As a network admin that is pretty much all I hear about when in fact its just a stubborn port or someone didn't plug in their ethernet cable.
I've seen this so many times and I just noticed at 0:37 Chip has been carefully trying to find, and put back in their original place, each shortcut icon one by one. This series is so freaking genius!
there's also a shortcut in the bottom left corner saying arrange by penis hahah
"Shortcut to mouse" -- I found myself stopping to read all those little desktop droppings.
"Do you want to save?" "Yes" - I actually flinched.
I did 2 decades ago 😂

Agreed. One of the biggest laughs I get out of this is the pop-up with the title "Dialog box from the system."
Still watching it after 8+ years. I miss these days when I worked Corporate enviroment.
and 2 emails below that is an email about his child support coming out of his payroll
"You sales guys think you can do everything with powerpoint, you probably browse the web with powerpoint" SO true
"You probably browse the web with PowerPoint." hahahaha
It's true though...sales guys really do think they can do anything with PowerPoint
I mean it's turing complete, it's possible.
2:57 Chip gets a popup for his own company :P
It even says Ask for "Chip"
"I live by a school...of course I know what a MILF is"
That line alone is miles better comedy then most of the crap they release today on TV.
*than
the part where he is in powerpoint and the sheet is called Excel had me dying.
It took me half the video to realise he was using fucking PowerPoint lmao.
If you laughed so hard you almost cried, you might be an IT support guy
michael olsen OH GOD! I never thought of it. Maybe... Maybe i'm a latent IT guy... Jesus, how do i tell this to my family? Won't they reject me?
michael olsen I lost it when I realised that it's a ppt document with the title Excel.
Yeah, I work in IT and I've shown every manager I've had this series of videos and they all loved it!
I cried because this is what I have to deal with every day.
I cried but didn't laugh :(
There's SO MUCH to pause and read on this. Phenomenal!
...And he starts off trying to manually rebuild his FUK U desktop 😂
I love that it took me 5 minutes to notice he wasn't closing the pop ups but was clicking yes to all of them
love the genuine surprise from web dude when chip knew the hotkey
"What does it say at the top?" "Powerpoint Excel"
LOL.
In case anyone wonders, the Chinese part seems to be an excerpt from some Taiwanese magazine about Avril getting married.
Haha.
AHHHHHHHHH!
We need more of these especially with ransom ware being up front now a days. These are hilarious
If by ransomware you mean "send bitcoin or I'll feature your company in my next video" then I'm in.
@@jrwyt-thewebsiteisdown ABSOLTELY. In the meantime I can watch/listen to these all day.
Hahahah. I love it how Aaron goes "Hooooooly shit" when Chip strikes with Minesweeper once again.
I have anxiety from watching this
Same. I actually watched the whole video with a grim face. And it was becoming grimer with every action the guy did. That was painful.
Over 10 years later, watching this guy use his PC still gives me anxiety.
its the day that we humans have to monitor.
Anyone else notice that Web Dude calls the "save" dialog a "popup box from the system", and then at 8:10 a popup pops up that's called "A dialog box from the system"? LOL
There are a lot of insane tiny details in here. Unusually high quality video from 2009, too.
He also has another MILF.exe on his desktop.
that is my favorite part of this
8:10 one of the virus pop ups is titled "dialog box from the system" 😂 13 years of coming back to this video and I still find new details
"Your insurance company doesn't want you to read this free $10 workbook."
"i've actually been waiting for your call"
"whoa really?"
"well...no, but my boss just read an article in blight magazine about you guys and..now he's interested in your piece of shit software"

that computer must be so damn powerfull to run all these spyware and still operate smotthly like that
Windows 98 was just that efficient.

Imagine having users refer to Excel spreadsheets as "databases"
@@bigallah6937 I'm sure I've had some people do that in my years of doing tech support.

8:18 "I'm trying to eat lunch"... At 5:42 PM? Hahaha
IT Life.
I love how he's playing Wolfenstein 3D
Those pop ups would come in groups of 5 to 8 - it was insane.
If you click wrong you pay...LOL.
I laughed every time he click on Install 🤣🤣🤣
I was pissing myself when he actually typed out "ALT I R" instead of the intended keystroke
I fucking lost it at Powerpoint Excel.
And yes, I do work in IT haha
And when web dude told him to click on a cell and type something, sales guy typed "something" lol
This one is my favorite.
SELL

the pause at 5:00 is so funny! XD " you know I don't... know how to do that"
"It's NOT impossible and I'm DOING it"
The absolute undeserved confidence

Continue this series it's the funniest thing on youtube!
INSTALL MORE SPYWARE *click*
"You'd probably browse the web with PowerPoint" LMAO
The dude told me its a virus and its been fkin with my computer.
So well done!
he really did have 700 mines on the board lol
That was AGONIZING to watch in all of the RIGHT ways! :)
Awesome work, love it!

Powerpoint Excell, too good oh man laughing so hard!

"You probably browse the web with Powerpoint."

4:29 the "unfinished" pop-up.
My two favorite poopups:
2:16 LIGHTLY USED REAL DOLLS!
3:32 LEARN TO SMOKE THE HEALTHY WAY!!!

All of these have aged like the finest wine.
"do not put me on hold.....do not put me on hold.....do not put me on hold....."
Chip fucking ROCKS at Wolfenstein.
haha just noticed in the sales calls hints and tips slide that all sales people use powerpoint and never excel nor access.
8:10 Popup labeled: Dialog Box From the System
