I never heard about the doors being locked (don't think that's true). I read that there were uneaten meals on the table, and that 1 of the 3 rain slickers, kept on hooks by the front door, was missing. The dock and their dinghy, had been destroyed from the storm (and rope was strewn about), so it's thought that they (having just sat down for dinner) may have heard a loud crash sound, from the wood breaking, and rushed down to the dock to secure the boat and see what else could be done, when the deck suddenly gave way from under them, sending them plummeting into the high, cold seas (with sharp rocks), unable to get ashore. Very sad. It was a tough, lonely life back then. (Note: I also read an opinion that only 1 rain slicker was missing because only 1 went down to check on the pier, while the others sat down to start dinner. And, seeing that the pier was breaking up, he rushed up to get the others for help. In a rush, they ran out without their jackets.)
The doors were not locked. This guy is lying, as many do, to make this obvious case of dudes washed away in a storm more mysterious. The "doors to the main compound were closed". Nothing in the report claimed the lighthouse doors were locked.
Then why was the last entry in the journal about the storm ending?

Yeah, I agree - there is a lot of misinformation in this "short". I've done some research and fact checking as this case has fascinated me for years... the doors weren't locked. That journal crap was all made up by a journalist and later found to be bogus. The only logs they found were the regular ones, documentation up til that noon time, with nothing out of the ordinary written in it - just regular, routine stuff. 2 slickers were gone, one remained hanging on the peg. Food on the table, a chair overturned... My theory differs from yours a little bit, however.
Imho, seems like they were having a normal day... 2 men down on that landing repairing that broken gear for their winch or whatever and one man in the lighthouse, as per the rules, like you said - maybe preparing lunch. I think it was a rogue wave and the one got up and dashed outside to warn the other two, but alas - all 3 were washed off the island. Rogue waves of 100 feet in height have been reported in that part of the Atlantic.
@@PeloquiNB It was later found to have been made up by a journalist for sensationalism. They only found the regular log books - nothing else, according to the official report by the Lighthouse Commission. Please see my reply to OP for more info.

Maybe theyre stuck the 3 is stuck on the outside to look how big the storm is and one writen them down and throwed the notebook inside but the door closed and they forgot its locked maybe that happend?
So basically the story is that one of them got into trouble and the other two went down to try to rescue him and all three were swept away by the storm.

That this lighthouse shifts to the 11th dimension at certain points of time (yes, it's written by Lovercraft), does not seem illogical.
The story was something like this. They wrote on a journal about the storm and stuff but there was a town from where you can see the lighthouse and they said there were no storms on that day. So it mean they disappeared mysteriously.
I'd also heard that that storm that they wrote about no one around reported a storm in the area during that time period

The place is a famously haunted lighthouse now days. Ghost hunters frequently visit the place!!

They survived the storm but got snatched by somthing.
Left out that there never was a storm anywhere around that island during their shift there. But the railing leading up to the lighthouse had been bent over and literally ripped from the ground. There was also an abnormal sized boulder that had been moved quite a bit away from where it had sat for years.

They went outside ad got hit by a Rouge wave not uncommon in the seas there in Scotland. Probably thought it was over and got caught by surprise.

They somehow slipped into the 11th dimension by a freak wave mixed with an ionised oxygenated radioactive meteorite that landed in the wave. They are actually still there but frozen in time until the guardian of time does the annual review and fixes glitches. It can take anything from an hour to 24 thousand years. I know right. That's harsh. To them tho it will be the blink of an eye. How do I know this? Exactly the same thing, didn't happen to me. But something similar did. I'm one of the lighthouse keepers but I'm from the 9th dimension. I once got time-froze for 800 years after the same occurance. It really was over in the blink of an eye. The only way I knew id been frozen for 800 years was because my 2 poor mates with me were frozen for 1200 years and watched me walk around for 400 years. I know it sounds crazy. Its so really absolutely unbelievably fantastical. And quite complex. If you would like schematics where I can explain everything fully, let me know. I think it's 1766 this year isn't it? Believe it or not, you can actually forget what year it is on a lighthouse simply due to boredom. I was once out by 6 years! How does that work? Shit there's a huge wave coming. You forgot to mention that in the aftermath it was confirmed that no storm was ever reported at the lighthouse at all, and not during the logged date either, something that would have been confirmed had their been one.

After the storm on the 14th, they decided to get the Rum and sherry out on the 15th and do a "conga" dance on the lighthouse balcony as a celebration but they should not of continued the "Conga" dance line onto the top of the railings......

It is very interesting. The storm had ended on the 14 th . Last log entry on the 15 th. I suggest that maybe winds were still high even if the storm ended and they could’ve been blown out to sea.
Think one was doing his round outside hence the raincoat missing. The others must have rushed to his rescue only to be killed along with him.

There is more to this story, a man on another island was paid a yearly salary to keep a journal of sight of the lighthouse, for 2 weeks he couldn't see the lighthouse due to storm n fog but he didn't write that in the journal, hmmm that was his job, a few mysterious things happened that night that can't be explained

That is creepy I have to tell you in 2004 on the 15th of December at 2:30 a.m. New York City West Side Highway 45th Street facing towards New Jersey I was in my car ready to make a right turn when something got my attention coming out of the water it was so you won't fall I cannot give you all the details for the entire experience was about 5 minutes it came out out of the water this some weird stuff then stop went up a little bit more it is some weird stuff then angle itself 11:00 pointing South and then he went up and vanished he ran fast he flew fast 15 December🙄

Always a very strange story. I’ve never heard of the doors being locked? My dad and Granda were light keepers in Scotland and my dad was friends with a keeper called Hugh who was murdered. My dads dog howled all night and he couldn’t understand why until the next day when the murder was discovered. My dad was on a neighbouring island.

That's because there was no such thing as final journal entry that said the storm had ended because it was made up by a journalist
They were fed up of that work and relocated to Miami
The storm got so bad they got scared fled and got swept up by sea maybe one got into a precarious situation and when the others tryed to help they were all swept out to sea ...nothing scary or nefarious but people will do anything for a mastery
