To be abandoned by your family is so debilitating. The horror, the ugly thoughts and delusions that take over your mind. Is everything you can do to keep yourself alive. Nothing but love for this young lady❤
Im so happy they got the guys that took her life. Great work team. What a beautiful memorial. RIP sweet Leanne. Always remembered and never forgotten 💓
Beautiful young lady, heartbreaking that she was abandoned by family, but thankfully she was surrounded by others that cared. It always appears communities step up AFTER a tragedy, and thankfully we do. It’s just sad she didn’t have the support during her troubled youth. It takes a whole village to raise a child, somewhere along the way, the village lost her. Hopefully now she is at peace.
I would say often they don't want it. Young people feel invincible and if you tell them to stop doing drugs and get out of the lifestyle or something bad will happen they don't believe it. I'm glad the friends she had were able to use this tragedy as a wake up call to change.
So this young lady had at least another 60 years left in her lifetime and the Law thinks if you take her life 13 years is enough punishment. Definitely something terribly wrong with the Canadian judicial system. It's not only an insult it just doesn't make any sense. Shame on you all. R.I.P. Leanne
Some chilren are born into chaos and this is how their lives will develop, chaotic no structure and no goals. So sorry this happened to Leanne, may she RIP.
@Caramelito33 if they wanted you to know they would have mentioned him. You don't need to be privy to every part of her life because of nosiness. They're protecting her son by not mentioning him.
IMO: The saddest part about Leanne's history, is that there are hundreds more Leanne's out there. I hope they live long enough to escape the psychological vampires, the darkness that surrounds illicit drugs, and beat the poverty, drugs and lifestyle of homelessness. Most important of all is for people everywhere to remember the Leanne's out there need hugs too.

I find many of your episodes interesting, so thank you. I was wondering if it would be possible to rename the episodes by exchanging Homicide #42 with Leanne Freeman's name. I feel it is important that the victim be treated with respect rather than dehumanized by being labelled with a crime number. Do you other viewers agree?
This is a professional TV series just uploaded to a UA-cam channel, they wont be reading or caring about comments. There is also impact that it is the 42nd homicide when so many of us are so sheltered that you feel they are few and far between. Sadly her lifestyle made her more likely to be one of those numbers
I think the title merely demonstrates the gritty normality of this kind of crime. The series has some excellent titles and this is one of them. The programme itself does Leanne justice and is the opposite of dehumanising. What IS disrespectful is the puny sentence handed down to the killers.....an issue that raises it's head here in the UK too.
Why do we have a system that favours criminals? The men killed thst girl like a dog and left her on the road like an unwanted animal and get 13 years??? Really? Why not just set them free?
I may get flack for this, but wasn't Leanne a criminal? Did she not sell drugs and do B&E? Not exactly a model citizen. Not saying, that it was right for these guys to take her life. The sentence those guys got is pathetic. Her life was worth more than that
Very sad, but I agree with you entirely on this. People are complex and ALL parts of Leanne and her life choices need to be acknowledged - both the good and the bad that she chose to do.

I’m sorry but if you live this way, you die this way. I used to have endless amounts of sympathy and compassion for people wrapped up in this lifestyle whether it was addiction or otherwise, but now I have none.
