Beautiful young lady, heartbreaking that she was abandoned by family, but thankfully she was surrounded by others that cared. It always appears communities step up AFTER a tragedy, and thankfully we do. It’s just sad she didn’t have the support during her troubled youth. It takes a whole village to raise a child, somewhere along the way, the village lost her.
Hopefully now she is at peace.

I would say often they don't want it. Young people feel invincible and if you tell them to stop doing drugs and get out of the lifestyle or something bad will happen they don't believe it. I'm glad the friends she had were able to use this tragedy as a wake up call to change.

So this young lady had at least another 60 years left in her lifetime and the Law thinks if you take her life 13 years is enough punishment. Definitely something terribly wrong with the Canadian

    IMO:
The saddest part about Leanne's history, is that there are hundreds more Leanne's out there. I hope they live long enough to escape the psychological vampires, the darkness that surrounds illicit drugs, and beat the poverty, drugs and lifestyle of homelessness.
Most important of all is for people everywhere to remember the Leanne's out there need hugs too.

I find many of your episodes interesting, so thank you. I was wondering if it would be possible to rename the episodes by exchanging Homicide #42 with Leanne Freeman's name. I think the title merely demonstrates the gritty normality of this kind of crime. The series has some excellent titles and this is one of them. The programme itself does Leanne justice and is the opposite of dehumanising.
What IS disrespectful is the puny sentence handed down to the killers.....an issue that raises it's head here in the UK too.

    Binangkal Recipe
    Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
    3/4 cup powdered milk
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter (or margarine)
    1/4 cup evaporated milk
    1 piece egg
    1/2 cup sesame seeds
    Oil for deep frying
    Directions:
    1. In a large bowl, add the all purpose flour, powdered milk and baking powder. Combine and mix well.
    2. In another bowl, combine the sugar, evaporated milk, melted butter and egg. Mix until well combined.
    3. Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture. Mix until well combined. Knead for a few minutes until smooth and sticky.
    4. Grab a small portion of the mixture and then roll into a ball. Then, coat them with sesame seeds.
    5. When fully covered by sesame seeds, roll them again in your palm to make sure that the seeds will not fall.
Do these steps with the rest of the ingredients.
Heat a lot of oil in a pan.
Deep fry the binangkal balls until golden brown.
Transfer them to a strainer or paper towel to drain excess oil.
Transfer the binangkal to a serving plate.
Enjoy this with your favorite afternoon tea or coffee. Yummy

I still don't understand the reason why she was killed.
They were talking about the necklace.
This guy offered the two men $180 for the necklace which in my opinion was a real good price for the piece in the criminal world.
There was also insinuations of her wanting her cut from the break in.
Why didn't they say she could keep the necklace as her cut.
It seems like she took it because she ment it was what she deserved.
Again, they were offered $180 so why didn't they just take those money?
This case has just so many lose threads and is impossible to understand the motivation behind the murder which really frustrated me!
