Adv bikes are awesome (I love the Duc v4 rally) they’ve got the full tech suite, great seating position, but, goodness are they ugly as sin. They all look like bloated mosquitos or some sort of F’d up bird 😂

So, I'm speaking as a 45 y/o fast boy, and a Dad. Once you hit a certain age, or height(I'm 6'4") naked bikes and sports tourers are where it's at. I have an old Ducati ST2 and a Gxs s750. I can cruise slow with my cruiser buddies, or carve up some curvey road at high speed.

Try the 2024 model. Seat is much better more HP and it definitely better steering and handling than any GS

Watch Cuban Rider and see what he can do with an XR. It's a waaaay more capable bike than people give it credit for. He eats super bikes on the track.
Did that bike have the first service done along with the dealer unlock for full power after breaking in? It looked like rpm’s were limited. If so you were missing a huge amount of power.
plus the GS was not red damn I hate any red or yellow it is so played out on bikes and cars. Go grandpaw D go lol glad to see you doing a variety of styles even though I am a sport bike guy even at 47

You should definitely try a KTM 1290 Super Adv as well; competes with the GS, Multistrada V4 and S1000XR
I'll be 58 next week and put more miles a year on my Daytona 675 than i put on my car. But then again, i am nobody's grandpa.

You can’t compare a s1000xr with the pikes peak. You need to compare the m1000xr with the pikes peak or the v4 rs but even that bike is more expensive.

*Simple: It's a MAX COMFORT oriented "sport" bike, that CAN double as a "tour" bike, w/saddlebags and/or a top case, if you need that type of flexibility. Does that make sense?

You talk about the brakes quite often and it seems like 'Brembo' is considered one of the best brands, but how much of a 'good' set of brakes is actually the disc they grip on to? It has to be a significant factor, right? It's not just all about the name on the brake pads.
this guy has no idea what 4 stroke means. All he heres is brands and then thinks they are good without actually knowing anything
@@mygi43543 How important is the disc though? I don't think I've seen any bike reviews that talk about different brands/manufacturers/styles of disc, it's always about the pads themselves.

My 23 S1000XR M package has had all the mods (Bren tune Stage 2, IAT, Vstacks, full ti Akra) done to it including a diet to get it down to 477 pounds wet.
I jusy picked up a XR in the M Sport package.
How does it feel now compared to stock? How's the power?
@@Jake23115 even if all you do is the Bren stage 1 it is a huge improvement. I had an 18 XR with just the Bren 1 and it was good, I figured with the 23 I would go all out. The power is night and day.
@Kirkster131 I honestly think I'm going to do the Stage 1 and 2, BMC air filter, servo motor delete, and just leave the BMW Akra on it.

@@Jake23115 I left my Akra on it, but did the full Akra headers and deleted the big ugly heavy cat. That thing is 20 pounds.
