OK, I’m stopping Story #1 at 6:53 which is pretty early. SO FAR… I don’t think it was anyone’s business why Henry Crow was back in town ten years later. Then, when the Sheriff actually looked into Henry’s records which I’m guessing was mostly his military records… just because he remembered Henry mentioning he was going to an Army recruiting office, was just plain wrong. I think that people, even a Sheriff, shouldn’t be able to just pull a private civilian’s military records because they feel like it. It seems like all of the people in that little town really hated Henry’s father which didn’t have anything to do with Henry. I’m looking forward to seeing what Henry ends up doing b/c the story has already started painting him in a bad light… EDIT: Well, that story actually had a really good ending! I’m glad the Sheriff’s Office wasn’t the one instigating Henry Crow. I think the posse that went onto Henry’s property looking to kill him AND then killed one deputy in cold blood and nearly a second, got what they deserved! If it wasn’t for Henry semi protecting the MC’s father and telling him to take the wounded deputy to the hospital, there would have been two or even more dead deputies! Henry Crow did 100 times more for his country than that whole posse did all put together!
Thank you! I couldn't believe my ears when I heard in the story that Henry had been awarded TWO silver stars and THREE purple hearts and from that they deduced he was a "killing machine". These are medals of valor, not "killing machine".
Same, I already rolled my eyes at the village's pitch fork and hysteria mentality. Gosh they need to calm their farm. And Henry Crow sounds like Clint Eastwood character, a total bad*ss.

Vietnam did many things to many people, the LRPS returning home were no one to screw with. Sounds like Henry Crow saw time as a LRP. Wherever you are, Henry, thank you for your service and God Bless.

The one about the daughter that was attacked during the bombing!?! I can only imagine what her mother felt. For HOURS not knowing where one of your children is and then to find her like THAT!? This story made me cry. It was instantaneous almost. I just couldn't believe it.
I cringe every time I hear the word “lathe”. The first time I learned what a lathe was was from a video of a factory worker getting sucked into one and was completely vaporized within 30 seconds. I’m still traumatized after seeing that.
That lathe story reminds me of a story I was told about my grandfather. He was the kind of guy who owned any power tool you could get in the 70s and 80s and did whatever home improvement and woodwork hobby jobs he could get his hands on. He even built their own house in ‘79 with his brother and my dad. The one tool he didn’t own was a lathe. He had owned one for about a month for woodwork when one day the blade came loose and launched past his head and lodged itself in the drywall across the garage. After that he refused to use it and got rid of it soon after.
I connected with that story from my own past experiences with shrooms. Mine were nothing but positive. I'd have gone cold turkey then and there if that had have happened to me 💀

I’ve never done psychedelics but every time I hear a description of the experience, I realize I don’t need to, I experience trips (altered POV, weird epiphanies, visions) without it. I don’t have a mental illness and I know what’s real and what’s not, but I can experience these things while another part of me watched, like “ooh shiny” or it’s a TV show. It’s only rarely scared me. I’ve described various stuff with people who’ve tripped and they’re all like “that’s weirder than what I got with drugs.” Hence why I’m never going to try the stuff; I’d no doubt try to flying to the moon or deciding I was fireproof or something.
Same, I know that losing touch with reality during a trip would go very badly for me and I'm not sure I would ever be the same afterwards. My sanity is not something I want to gamble with. But everyone's different. As they say, "know thyself"
@@DarlingBabies oh me too. Me too. The thought of what I’d end up doing scares the hell out of me. I’ve had opportunities, & sat back laughing at the antics of the ppl that DID do it. my husband's coworker survived the blitz. one day he went to school and came right back home. his mother asked him why he wasn't in class and he said, "no school". she started hitting him and yelling and it turns out the school was GONE in a bombing.
Be safe. My best friend lost both arms in a work accident. He was safety driven, never thought it would happen to him. Now he travels the country giving safety speeches.
Man that machining close call story is eye opening as a learning machinist and welder I’ve been in my company long enough to be here for a horrific accident luckily my friend survived and is fine but the terror of waking up and hearing that your coworker/ friend just had an accident and not knowing if they’re alive is a feeling I never want to experience again
i really like & admire that last story about the guy from Pennsylvania & how he had a job dealing with the dead . i always wanted to be like Cyril Wecht the Pennsylvania medical examiner , i live in Pittsburgh myself, i admire people that do that work it has to be hard on the mind & the sights & smell too
The lathe story makes me think of my Dad. He worked in a paper mill. He saw men lose their fingers. One was scalped(he had a pony tail). Another man got his pants leg caught and he acted just in time. He undone his belt and it snatched his pants off. Another lost his life. I was grown before I realized what a dangerous place my Dad worked in. He never talked about it when I was young and he would never take me there. He retired at 58. I was so glad. It still got him. Asbestos. Cancer only two years later. Not fair. He deserved a long retirement. He was a great Dad.💙🙏
Couple things. The first story was a great story. Love old law enforcement stories. One thing tho, he speaks as if Henry Crowe has passed away, saying he wonders how the end of Henry's story went and betting he spent his final days away from everyone. Based on some dates in the story ol' Henry would be around 80. So, he could still be alive. Unless his lifestyle choices, health, or Covid caught up to him. But we don't know, so I'm gonna hope Henry is still kickin'. The other thing. The adoption story. The way she was treated pisses me off. She was the one given up for adoption. She doesn't own any explanation to the biological siblings her mother decided to keep. That brother, Sam (I believe was his name) was frigging crazy. Way too jealous for an adult. Completely unhinged. Also, I'm pretty sure to get dna from a hair it has to have the root still attached. That's what they say on all those true crime shows on discovery plus. I doubt he was able to get a hair with an intact root from the shower. I can't say for sure. Also, unless the females have different hair color knowing whose hair it is would be difficult. I would've cut ties with that hot mess of a family too and be glad I didn't have to grow up in it. The stepfather's special needs sister doesnt need to be around Sam either. Pretty sure he didn't just decide to go crazy and get violent because long lost sister showed up. He's probably been like that.

Hence*. Not “hence, why”. Hence*.
@@kab9706 my older sister took acid and she’s never been the same since
i know myself well enough to stay away from anything like this too lol
@@DarlingBabies oh me too. Me too. The thought of what I’d end up doing scares the hell out of me. I’ve had opportunities, & sat back laughing at the antics of the ppl that DID do it. But I know my mind too well. And tho part of it may be fun at first, I think I’d be one of those who might nvr come back from it. Noooooo thanks.
Goodnuggie joel and fellow butter socks I’m sorry I haven’t been present. Just going through a lot of things. But getting to fall asleep to spooky stories is the best part of my day🥰
I'm willing to bet those guys framed Henry Crow with the graveyard incident to make him look deranged and dangerous.
What exactly did that town actually do to Henry that's not being told in the story?? Why would the townsfolk suspect he came back for "revenge?"
"Smoking... grass" 😂 My 80yr old dad used to say that, thanks for the laugh.
my husband's coworker survived the blitz. one day he went to school and came right back home. his mother asked him why he wasn't in class and he said, "no school". she started hitting him and yelling and it turns out the school was GONE in a bombing.
I love your narrations Joel, thank you for giving me great content to listen to while I paint! 👌
Wishing Joel and mr Purrdeep, a wonderful evening. 🤍🐾
Be safe. My best friend lost both arms in a work accident. He was safety driven, never thought it would happen to him. Now he travels the country giving safety speeches.
I fall asleep on your videos every night and now it's the perfect time for a new video cause it's my bed time🥰
Great stories Joel and happy early birthday 🎉🎉🎉
That first story was intense 😳
Goodnight everybody!
Thanks a millie! 🎉

Thank you Joel🐐 Goodnight 💤
The one about the 2 guys trippin had me sucked in. I was all into that story
Wow , that trippin 🏀's story has me trippin 🏀's ...well done writer and well done Joel.
These are the very good.
i really like & admire that last story about the guy from Pennsylvania & how he had a job dealing with the dead . i always wanted to be like Cyril Wecht the Pennsylvania medical examiner , i live in Pittsburgh myself, i admire people that do that work it has to be hard on the mind & the sights & smell too
Really enjoyed these stories. It is so relaxing for me to listen to you before I fall asleep. Thank you
The tripping story was wild
Great job🙌
Is/was Henry Crow a real person? If so he's a freaking badass.
Omg "walking in mud"
I used to call it "swimming thru cough syrup"
gotta get out of this muck
The lathe story makes me think of my Dad.
He worked in a paper mill.
He saw men lose their fingers. One was scalped(he had a pony tail). Another man got his pants leg caught and he acted just in time. He undone his belt and it snatched his pants off. Another lost his life. I was grown before I realized what a dangerous place my Dad worked in. He never talked about it when I was young and he would never take me there. He retired at 58. I was so glad. It still got him. Asbestos. Cancer only two years later. Not fair.
He deserved a long retirement.
He was a great Dad.💙🙏
One of the first and I'm blessed that you'll probably see this comment lol, thanks Joel ❤️
Good evening! Night night

First story reminds me of the most recent season of True Crime
@41:49 …the bean that I’d seen, the one that phased outta my dream…
He's probably been like that.
two trailer parks and one wendys made me laugh harder than it should have 😂
0:39 the worst golf course in the country. That is hilarious.!! Now let's strive for world wide. It'll be made of concrete & have Texas brass balls but no holes
I’m new to this channel and podcast. Do all of these stories also end up on the podcast? I don’t wanna listen to this and then the pod comes and I already heard them.
The trippin story!!😂😂😂😂 WHAT??! 🤣🤣🤣
The new intro is a banger
Thumbnail definitely got Texas chainsaw massacre vibe going 💀
I know the dragonfly guy was lurking on erowid back in the day. crazy times
