@@mervynhogan7829 : In the US, a military veteran or active service member will fold the flag a certain way, where it ends up in a triangle.
After doing so, most disposals are done with the national anthem playing, after which the flag is either respectfully buried or burned (I am unsure of what the process is to burn a flag).
At no point is the flag to be treated with disrespect. Additionally, for military members during any ceremony involving a color guard, protocol states that any member not involved with the color guard salute. Members of the color guard also are required to not let the flag touch the ground.
If I may ask, what country have you come from? And I honestly appreciate your inquiry as how to dispose of a flag. You definitely have not offended me, lol. And in point of fact, I'm more than happy to help.

If you're going to keep doing these rear ends you should invest in a pinion depth tool kit. The pinion depth is stamped on the face of the new pinion, this way you can set the proper depth without having to put the carrier in, once the pinion is set up with the right shims then you can put the carrier in and adjust the back lash. It's a lot easier this way.

I think you can see 2.6 something on the pinion rear. That measures to the centerline of the axle in the carrier. When the gears are cut that is the mill setting. I am sure that Gm or Ford doesn’t have to assemble more than once or run in camshafts for 20 minutes per engine ha ha.

I'm no pro so take this with a grain of salt. I take the old bearing off and get the original shim to use the thickness for a good starting point for pinion depth. then take the old bearing with a die grinder to the ID of the bearing so I can slip the bearing on and off easy to make my adjustments. then use a pinion death gauge to set the depth. once i have it where I want it, I put the new bearing on and crush the sleeve. But it looks like how you do it is working so keep doing it your way just giving you some options.

The beauty of Snap-on ratchets is that they have a valid lifetime warranty. Those 1/2” will break when you try hard enough. there is a small rebuild kit for the gear set, and if you bend the handle or head they replace them.
That’s the way it used to be done, I sure hope its still is the way they operate. I’ve got some that are 60+ years old, Three generations, they look very used, and work like new.

@Ray (and others) - the problem with forehead-mounted cams are that they sit significantly higher than your eyeline. This means that when you're looking at something and working with it closely, the object/work area is below the camera's field of view. This can me mitigated for closeup work by tilting the camera so that it's looking more "down & close" than "across a crowded room". Alternatively, a pencil cam that mounts on the side of your head and sits in the same plane as your eye-line will capture everything that you're looking at.

Ray the reason there is so much preload on the case bearings is because we stretch the carrier during assembly

  • @NemoConsequentae
    @NemoConsequentae Рік тому +7

I was thinking about how tight those diffs were to start with. Aluminium has a higher thermal expansion ratio than steel, so when assembled 'cold' it would be very tight, but will loosen up as the diff heats up & the case expands more than the gears inside.
(In my old job we had bearings that went into an alloy housing. To remove then we'd put the assembly in an oven. While it was heating up the new bearing went into the freezer on the insertion tool. Once hot we'd pull the assembly & extract the old bearing, then insert the cold new bearing & let them return to room temp to secure the new bearing.)

      Mistakes ARE the learning process.
Without Mistakes, you're not learning anything, you're just doing the job.
It's really sad that over the last 60 years children have been being brainwashed that mistakes are bad.
At least before you learn the right way they aren't.
Now if you keep making the same mistake over and over again. That could mean you don't have the ability to learn. It's also something very rare, not being able to learn.
      Think of it this way.
      You were born KNOWING NOTHING.
Then think of all the mistakes you've made in the process of becoming you today.
Most people would realize how good they've done. It's almost like a miracle.
Now, how much of everything you know, you wouldn't
If you were afraid to make any mistakes from day one.
This is the problem perfectionists have.
      Perfect or nothing.
So to guarantee not to make any mistakes. Most do nothing they aren't already good at.
Or guaranteed failure through not trying.
