Don’t forget Ash that you can fine tune the tension with the end at the lever that uses the spiral for adjustment as per the bottom one above the gearbox, like you say they are a pig to adjust with the battery box and toolbox fitted. Also don’t forget the tab washer that stops the ferrule popping out of the lever when the foot pedal is operated.
My 1940 WL started getting harder and harder to shift out of third gear. So I replaced the clutch plates and hub as they were well worn. Now it only seems worse, no matter how I adjust the clutch all gears grind. So I am wondering if something in the transmission could be going bad?? Any advice? Thanks.
Would it not be possible to swap the foot and hand clutch cables on the activator arm to give more leverage for the hand lever? And with the extra throw of the foot control still operate the activator arm?
I fitted a WLC hand clutch to my WLA, many years ago, and as you say, its enough to stop you from launching into the vehicle in front. Not original, but without it, I couldn't ride it around any traffic.
@@benturner868 that is interesting, I never hear of it. Does it meant you can ride our WLC with either using foot clutch or the hand one? I even don’t recall I seen any kit somewhere.
Hi, this is my actual bike, I wanted the hand clutch just for ease of use, but you can just use the foot clutch if you didn’t want to use the foot clutch, easier pulling away etc, then will use the foot clutch to change gears.
@@benturner868 interesting, I have a WLC as well but I didn’t know that this possibility to have both foot and hand clutch was possible. Nice bike you have, congratulations! Ed

Ash answered your question in this weeks episode: ua-cam.com/video/-e0cfKzmLBQ/v-deo.htmlsi=SM39lQZ0dwU2h2km - hope it helps!
Great vid! Love seeing these pop up !!
Cheers Ben, coming along nicely...
I'm curious how the fender struts are attached to the rear fender. I don't see any rivets or bolts. Are the struts removable from the fender?
Nice, many thanks, it is an auxiliary clutch really, good to have on the field of battle.

That bikes gonna be a beauty! And if it looks right it is right!
Thanks mate, fingers crossed!
Exactly!
Interesting adaptation. Always wanted to do this, but I didn’t know if kids were available.

That's right, if it looks wrong it ain't right!
Ha love it!
Very interesting, thanks for sharing and good to know, but I personally would never replace my WLC foot clutch for anything else.
It’s not a replacement ,
It’s as well as the foot clutch. It was original on wlc’s
