Take your knife and wrap it with a single layer of clear plastic cling wrap. fill the inside of your sheath with water, let the leather take a quick soak. drain the water, put the knife in the sheath and put some weights on it in key spots and let it dry a bit. take the knife out and let the sheath dry fully. It should have better retention. Great video!
My ideal knife. I love it and use it a lot. Plus points: simple, beautiful, easy to be sharpen, robust, versatile (from batoning to finesse carving). Minus points: handle could be better for large hands, while for small hands it's ok.
Bought the Enzo trapper 115 Elmax flat grind and just ordered the Enzo trapper 95 N690Co. You guys got me hooked! I wish I can find a Enzo trapper 95 elmax! These Enzo trapper knives are so reasonably priced I can collect them all! My next one will be the O1 with curly birch handle!
+BirdShot IV thanks a lot! too bad mikkie trew it in the fire. i was planning to use it in the outdoor kitchen. Burning my spatula was not planned hahaha
That knife has been on my wish list for a while except in D2 with micarta handles by the way they sell those pants here in the army surplus and I have 3 pairs - well done on the video - cheers
+guncotton 1 these pants last a lifetime! I have one from 11 years back and still wear it. I love them for the outdoors. We now have the trapper in O1, N690CO and S30V. Soon I'll get the elmax version (cheapest elmax knife on the market?). The O1 has given me the best results so far. The s30v disappointed. I have no experience with D2 but it should do great on a small knife like the trapper. Thanks mate!
I bought from Brisa two Trappers made out of 01 and Elmax. They come without sheets and Handles which I have to make. Its going to be pretty interesting to see the results.
I just found/subbed your channel, and one thing I really like is that you review knives that, while common or well known in Europe, say, in the United States I rarely know about them. Maybe the exchange rate makes them too expensive for our market. I don't know for sure, but the best production knives in the US cost quite a bit less, with the same quality. Thanks for what you do.
+csh 62 thanks a lot mate! exchange rates can often outbalance the value of the price/performance. US blades are very expensive here. Becker bk2:€100-€120,- , Esee 4: €150,- (without sheath) and bark rivers often pass the €300,- mark. I really really love bark rivers however. To keep costs down I buy them directly from the US. Thanks for the sub! cheers
Hi. I have watched a lot of your video's and have always been impressed with you guys, I like your humour and yet still serious about the knife content. I was happy to finally see this video, because I have owned the exact same model Enzo Trapper in O1 for about four years now. This is my go-to bushcraft/camping knife. I love every aspect of it. I have always maintained the edge at the zero/flat scandi. However I also have another knife which is what you guys call 'Scandivex' which is awesome. This is the Bushcraft Store Timberwolf in O1 steel. I was considering changing the scandivex on the Timberwolf to zero/flat, however after watching your video and re trying the edge on the Timberwolf, I will leave as it is, and probably change the Enzo to a Scandivex as well. Thank you guys for another great video. :)
Hey guys I love your new videos but dont forget we knife geeks still love to listen to you talk plain and simple knife lingo. You now have a CRAP TON OF KNIVES, slow down and use them before you get so many that it becomes to many.....Yes we always say "you can never have to many knives" but IMHO I think you can, this can end burning you guys out and your viewers to. Knife porn magazines are great but seeing the real action is so much better😉 Oh by the way, that Enzo Trapper sheath works amazing with the Mora Garberg, at first it seems like a no-go but believe me just force it in and let it sit cause its a perfect fit. Here in the U.S DLT trading has them for $24, so for those who are on a budget its a great deal.
I have exact same knife with M2 steel and I have used it only couple times. I made 5-6 feathering sticks each time and the edge was rolled. Not severly, but it is slightly rolled to one side. Is this normal with M2 steel? I was expecting the edge remain sharp longer than that. I also own couple of bark river knives with A2 and CPM3V which retain the sharp edge much much longer after quite a bit of aggressive use. I know that they are convex edge which is known for stronger edge. But I still think it is too weak to have slightly rolled edge after only making 5-6 feather stick x 2. What do you think?
I think there might be a problem in the heat treat. I don't own a M2 knife so I have no experience with the steel. You might want to regrind it a little bit. Sometimes the apex overheats on the factory sharpening and ruins the heat treat on the outmost edge.
+Hiếu Trần thanks a lot. N690co is decent but in terms of performance less than O1 with EnZo's heat treat. For stainless i would recommend the elmax version. Elmax is a great super steel
Hi guys, I wanted to ask you for advice, I would like to take an Enzo Trapper scandi in N690CO steel, do you think it can be a good knife? thanks Michele
Hey, these is pretty strange as I find the heat treat of enzo amazing. You might want to increase the angle of the apex. It could also be that your heat treat is off. It doesn't happen often but still.. Is yours in O1?
I sharpened it with naniwa professional stones 400, 1000, and 3000 grit and shapton ha no kuromaku 5000 grit. After that I strop with bark river white compound
It's pretty easy on this O1 steel. You could sharpen it to 5000 grit and than strop it over leather with a high grit stropping compound 8k+. I use bark river white compound (12.000 grit) to strop on. Thanks for the compliment and you are very welcome!
Alberto Seruya this is very strange indeed. if thhe surface your work on is also Wood free of debris or sand i would suggest contacting Brisa.fi . I had some issues with edge problems last year. I found out the its because I also did sanding jobs on my work surface. the particles got in the grain of the wooden surface
+James Ritchie I liked it better when they were still €80,- in those days they were really a bang for the buck. €100,- still seems like a fair price to me for a knife like this.
Please stop doing things to your edges before you review your knives. For the most part we want to know how good the knives are coming from the factory, not after you've sharpened them or convex the edges. Doing so pretty much makes the reviews (while entertaining and informative as always) not the most accurate in terms of how you can expect the knives to perform out of the box. If you could even just talk about how the knives perform before you made any changes it would be great, this way it would be helpful to know what we could do to improve the factory edge of the knives. Thanks guys and keep up the great videos.
Dutch Bushcraft Knives sure, that makes sense of course, but tell us if the factory edge comes to you like shit before you guys have fixed it lol. Just so we know what we might expect if we buy one. I get that the sharpness out of the box is not really an issue because you can always resharpen yourselves, but I'm sure there are some viewers not as blessed by the Dutch Sharpening Gods as you two androgynous specimens of knife-reviewing sensuality... Keep up the good work. *I also want to complain that there is not enough gratuitous nudity in your videos.
I ran out of new videos so now I'm watching their older ones😂
The Scandi edge and curly birch make for a beautiful knife.
These are the kind of videos i love.
Great video!
thanks for the tip! like wet forming a leather sheath over again. Haven't thought about that! I will try it!
I'm thinking about making this my next purchase, I love the scandinavian knives. Thanks for posting!
My ideal knife. I love it and use it a lot. Plus points: simple, beautiful, easy to be sharpen, robust, versatile (from batoning to finesse carving). Minus points: handle could be better for large hands, while for small hands it's ok.

you are welcome Scott! The O1 enzo with curly birch really feels like a real bushcrafting knife. I can recommend!
Not a bad spatula! Very enjoyable testing video, well done.
+BirdShot IV thanks a lot! too bad mikkie trew it in the fire. i was planning to use it in the outdoor kitchen. Burning my spatula was not planned hahaha
I finally got an Enzo Trapper in M2 steel. It's awesome.
Love the Enzo as well. Another one that I believe to be best in the price, quality is the EKA W12 Nordic with 12c27 Sandvik and tempered amazing.
I made one of these from a blank. I made the scales thicker to fit my hand better. All in all a great knife.
Excellent knife !
That knife has been on my wish list for a while except in D2 with micarta handles by the way they sell those pants here in the army surplus and I have 3 pairs - well done on the video - cheers

Nice review, guys👍
This tool is one of my favourite ❗

+Airik1111 wow great advice man about that sheath! We'll test it out. And yea the video's, thanks for your feedback and keep your honesty comin!
Thanks for another great review. The knife looks gorgeous :)
- Martin
+NorwegianWoods thanks a lot mate!
Some good ol fashion DBK love at the end from Mikkie! XD
I just bought the exact same knife and it's amazing.
Beautiful knife
And that mirror polish...
Carbon steel, wooden handle, scandi grind and leather sheath...that is a perfect combination...
I liked, great video 🤘
awesome knife and an awesome review.. thanks..
thanks a lot mate!

Does the spine come sharp from the factory? Or do you have to sharpen it to use your ferro rod
I have exact same knife with M2 steel and I have used it only couple times. I made 5-6 feathering sticks each time and the edge was rolled. Not severly, but it is slightly rolled to one side. these are so fucking much better than your new ones! go back!
What do you guys think of the N690co version of this knife? Is it good? The o1 is out of stock for purchase.
Did you force a patina on the blade ?
Really nice review. Do you have any comment about Enzo Trapper in N690Co steel? Thank you.
+Hiếu Trần thanks a lot. N690co is decent but in terms of performance less than O1 with EnZo's heat treat. For stainless i would recommend the elmax version. Elmax is a great super steel
so does O1 create a layer of patina over time? thank you
What's shakin' DBG? Never mentioned that I love the intro song. Is it your own music?
Who's DBG
thank you very much.
did you stain the curly birch handle? Or is that just what oil will do to it.? it has a nice darkness to it.
+ca4Gochops this is curly birch. The oils darkens the darker parts. It's just the Colorado of the woods though. I love it.
Hi guys iwas saving up for one of these then when i went to buy one the price had shot up so i didnt get one.
great video guys
atb
Ted
+Ted Mears (bear bushcraft) thanks ted!
Hi guys, I wanted to ask you for advice, I would like to take an Enzo Trapper scandi in N690CO steel, do you think it can be a good knife? thanks Michele
Id recommended the elmax version. The n690 version is the worst Enzo I have sadly
Unfortunately I have already ordered .... csa is not good in the N690CO version?
Unfortunately I have already ordered ... what is not good in the N690CO version?
your handle looks so much cooler than mine, mine isn't waxy/shiny at all
Thanks! I polished it up myself with 3k sandpaper and buffed it with compound and beeswax.
If you could buy this knife in only one steel, which would you go with. I'm not sure if I should go with the O1, D2, M2, or Elmax.
I think it would be elmax. Great edge retention and I love that it is stainless. it's harder to sharpen though.
It's also in N690Co nowadays. Nice steel. Green Micarta and N690Co trapper for $109 right now.
Can the N690co version of this knife start a fire with a firesteel?
Hi i have these knife but every time i work with the knife i get some deformation on the steel what i can do?
Hey, these is pretty strange as I find the heat treat of enzo amazing. You might want to increase the angle of the apex. It could also be that your heat treat is off. It doesn't happen often but still.. Is yours in O1?
Honestly, it looks a lot like a knife my grandmother used to keep in her kitchen drawer
Die wil ik ook ooit nog eens een keer hebben voor mezelf
how did you get such a good mirror polesh
I sharpened it with naniwa professional stones 400, 1000, and 3000 grit and shapton ha no kuromaku 5000 grit. After that I strop with bark river white compound
I wonder if you could maintain the sharpness of this knife only with a ceramic honing rod......
you could probably but it would put on a micro bevel which isn't recommendable for a bushcrafting knife like this
do you know any sites that sell knives in Europe?
thanks
Thx for your review :) Hw can u do a miror finition ? Stone 8000 or 10 ? or something else ? ;)
It's pretty easy on this O1 steel. You could sharpen it to 5000 grit and than strop it over leather with a high grit stropping compound 8k+. I use bark river white compound (12.000 grit) to strop on. Thanks for the compliment and you are very welcome!
the enzo trapper looks a lot like bark river gunny scandi
yes its o1, i work with pine tree only. and its a soft wood like you know
Alberto Seruya this is very strange indeed. if thhe surface your work on is also Wood free of debris or sand i would suggest contacting Brisa.fi . I had some issues with edge problems last year. I found out the its because I also did sanding jobs on my work surface. the particles got in the grain of the wooden surface
💙
is this 0-1 steel easy to get rusty ?
yeah, very easy sadly. It's a very nice steel but rusts like crazy
Definitely a fallkniven. The O1 steel has so little chromium it rusts withing few minutes of being wet (without oiling the knife).
I want buy a knife with O1 or D2 steel. Which of these steels will be better for bushcraft knife ?
What did mickey did to you? You're videos (such as this) are so zen, looks like mickey set loose your inner badass, ya?
haha he did! I'm a calm guy when i'm alone I guess
You think one hundred Euros is a good price?
+James Ritchie I liked it better when they were still €80,- in those days they were really a bang for the buck. €100,- still seems like a fair price to me for a knife like this.
Price isn't bad but the real deal is you can buy the blade for about half that and make the handle yourself. That's what I did.
Maybe Hissin of metal not well made
lol Mikkie said fuck your spatula!
i found the trapper in elmax for 115 euro
Today the o one cost you $141

He said he has had the knife four or five years before he reviewed this knife
This sound like a great review of course after repeated sharpenings
I laughed so hard at the end
