I will never get my head round the fact that Brad has been putting out gold consistently for years and doesn't have like a million subscribers
He has a consistent loyal following that supports him more than most people with a million subscribers. Brad is one of the only people from the original crew of reviewers that I still follow.
I mean, look at the general populace and what they've made popular. Those definitely aren't the kind of people who enjoy intelligent and witty fare like we get here on a weekly basis.
He keeps it real and doesn't cater to the masses and I respect him for it.

One of my friends who had Cinemax told me about this, so the next time I slept over, sure enough, it was on again. We were 13 in 1994, so this movie had pretty much everything we were looking for. So, while it may not be a masterpiece, I'll always have a fondness for it.

I've been eagerly awaiting this... I remember the debut of this on old early 90s Sci-Fi channel! In fact, I am almost certain it debuted in 1994 a few months after the VHS release on Sci-Fi channel. They really hyped up the premier of it on cable.

I cannot hate on this movie. It was the first Pumpkinhead movie I saw. It came on the Sci-Fi Channel back in the day! It was just a fun movie to me. The first movie is, by all metrics, the better movie by far, but I would buy this one and add it to my DVD collection!

I remember seeing bits of this movie on TV, on the Sci-Fi Channel, which is also ironic that the third movie was labeled as a "Sci-Fi Channel Original" movie. SyFy must've really loved "Pumpkinhead". lol

The town in this movie is way more developed and modern than in the first one. The people from the first one were straight outta The Grapes of Wrath.
There was barely a town in the first one, it was more like just a big farm.

I always loved Pumpkinhead. A childhood favorite.
But I actually kind of like Pumpkinhead 2 more in a lot of ways.
First off, it's has Punky Brewster. She was well before my time but I found the series in recent years and I love it.
I love J.Trevor Edmond. I wish he did more movies other then Return of the living dead 3 and Pumpkinhead 2.
The soundtrack is great. I love the early 90's horror. it very much reminds me of Ticks and Predator 2. The main character; the daughter of the sheriff is actually in Ticks. It has a pretty good story and I like the directing. The special effects, gore, etc is all great. I love the kill where Pumpkinhead smashes into the barn, grabs the guy and snaps his back in half. Great kill.
And I know I'll sound crazy and people will go "really?" but the ending where they kill pumpkinhead and they mix the flashback death with his current death. At one point his arms are spread and kind of strikes a martyr pose....I can't help but cry during the death of Pumpkinhead in part 2. I've cried almost every time I've watched it "DROP EM!" I'm crying.
The only issue I have with the film is, it's a remake/reboot of the original movie. I rarely ever accept that. Very rare occasions where I do accept that, this being one of them and the look of the witch. Should of been more creepy.
So I love this movie. i hate the fact that it gets a lot of bashing. Some people even try and justify Pumpkinhead 3 and 4, which are just total garbage sequels "oh but those movies don't rewrite the first movie." SO WHAT?! The special effects are atrocious, and in fact part 3 is a blatant INSULT to the first movie. Part 2 just tries to do it's own thing. Part 3, they made Bunt and his sister into "i got to get me some edimickation." country hicks!!!!!! Just everything about part 3 and 4 is atrocious. It puzzles the mind how people can bash part 2 but try and justify part 3 and 4. Z grade movies. "oh that B MOVIE is awful, but this Z grade movie....I don't know. I kind of see what they were doing." "Well, at least it isn't Pumpkinhead 2!" in fact I remember when part 3 was announced and this was before I realized Scifi made Z grade movies they were going "We love the first movie and we are gonna BRING IT BACK and give you the definitive sequel. Part 2 sucks." and while I always liked part 2, it was nice to see a film would go back to the original film. So when it premiered on Scifi, I watched it and went "Wow....this is a total fucking INSULT to the first movie. This is REALLY REALLY BAD." it did NOTHING RIGHT WHAT SO EVER. Where was the "your cursed! Your marked!" where was the cruelty?! Pumpkinhead 2, they gave him back the locus who follow him. They made Pumpkinhead's presence noticeable. The deaths all sucked. The characters sucked big time. Lance Hendrickson became back as a ghost and he is totally wasted. He has literally ZERO reason what so ever to be in the film. When the movie premiered Lance was so EMBARASSED to be in the movie, he quietly got out of his movie chair and left the theater, never to return. So when the Q and A came around, they saw his chair was empty and his agent was left sitting there laughing. A couple years later Lance admitted why he did the movie in an interview "I needed the money for my car."
Just like the film Ticks, I had the VHS copy of this movie. So I watched Pumpkinhead 2 on VHS and on TV whenever it aired.
Pumpkinhead 2 is fun, it's kind of sleazy, it has a heart and charm, and it's at times pretty funny.
So i actually watch this quite often.

This one was like the later Hellraiser sequels, a completely different script reworked to fit the creature in.

So, what did this retcon Pumpkinhead's origins, like he was an ugly backwoods hick with a birth defect before becoming a demon? Nope, still a demon, but he's Tommy's dad. Which raises a bunch of questions I don't wanna think about!
Somehow as a German i never heard of or watched Pumpkinhead. But that said, in the 1980s and 1990s and even 2000s mostly Italian Horror Movies and Slashers were easy to get here.
Movies like "The Evil Dead" even were basically forbidden.
That said, Cinema Snob needs to do a Video of one of the best Italian Weird/Slasher/Horror/Comedy Movies that no American does Videos on:
Dellamorte Dellamore (1994) or as it's called in the USA "Cemetary Man (1994)"
No idea why no American UA-camr (even those focusing on Horror) ever showcases that one. It's an absolute Cult Classic and definitely one of the Best Italian Horror Movies ever

Yeah, Delamorte Delamore was really great, and it's sort of been forgotten. Brendan Tenold reviewed it a few years ago. I remember renting it on VHS in the 90s. The main actor had a baby with Madonna. Anyway, interesting and strange movie. It's got elements of horror, romance/thriller, and slapstick comedy. The grim reaper is amazing. The woman was quite beautiful. It's kind of similar to the Frighteners by Peter Jackson, in some regards.
